Chapter Nine: Year 300, 6th Day

Pranits idea is pretty much unchanged.

He is aiming in front of where the door popped in case he sees someone come out.

Otherwise he will move up towards the still hot hole and quickly squats between the hole and the bulkhead and aims in the hole looking for the assault team.

Depending on how many I see I will either autofire to the team or burst fire into one of them.

+1 for skill, +3 for Dex, +1 for laser sight, -1 torso protector (total av 10)

She is currently in "I am not the droid you are looking for" mode. Close gun combat is not her greatest skill, and the cutlass does not seem to be a useful weapon, at least right now.

For the moment, she is staying where she is. This is not my fight. I will help if I can. Scheiß.

Noor, Pranit, Maggie - and hangers on
The crew deck lapses into quiet - apart from the hiss of the thermite (which finally extinguishes itself), the whirr of the life-support trying to clear the fug and the sound movements in the lift-shaft. A person swings down from inside the shaft and lands just in front of it - between the shaft wall and the door to Noor's room. A second body appears behind it - both holding nasty looking boarding shotguns and both armoured - and both not yet entirely visible to Noor, Zid or Pranit.

A third body peeks through the cooling hole in the rear of the lift-shaft to find himself peering down the barrel of Pranit's weapon. There is the sound of a shot Shotgun Roll from Pranit please!

Noor and Miya notice a grenade bouncing across the floor...(They can dive for cover in Nalani's room - past Zid if they wish)

Maggie is in the bunk in Reven's room.

Indrani's order to belay the spin manoeuvre echoes around from the loudspeaker.

The ship continues to accelerate away from the planetoid. The smoke issuing from the passenger stateroom behind the lift is investigated by Tiberius who reports that there is a hole in the ceiling from a thermite round. It's smoking the walls and floor but has not yet set them alight - when the dripping of the molten iron suddenly stops.

Nalani leaves Arnwulf in as comfortable a position as she can manage and moves to the main lift door, readying herself to open it and pass through.

She points to the grenade and then yanks Miya while diving for cover in Nalani's room. They shove Zid back in as they all fall inside in a heap.

Nālani has no desire to enter the lift shaft, she intends to activate the lift doors, lean in, fire up at the first target she sees and duck back out. Expecting a grenade to follow she will press the "door close" button as she fires.

She considers her options, and unstraps from the bunk, and moves quickly into the fresher/head/wc. If the ship hits something, at least she won't go far. Also, she is not visible from the door.

Patience, and a good cutless may save her life. She doubts anyone will expect an attack from behind from the fresher.

Maggie
The fresher isn't all that large. a long-blade hasn't room, but your boarding dagger is perfect. All you need do now is wait for the boarders to get past Pranit.

Pranit
The raider ducks out of the way so that the shotgun blast misses - although the sound of the barrel next to his head is (of itself) somewhat damaging. The lift door takes the hit. It's hard to see much when the gun is in the hole - and if you remove it you can see but can't shoot! You can hear swearing and the sound of fire from an SMG somewhere in the shaft - followed by the bark of a shotgun.

Nālani
The foray into the lift-shaft - duck-in, shoot, duck-out sends a spray of bullets into the lower half of an armoured figure who is gyrating wildly to avoid the blast of a shotgun. This wriggling doesn't, however, allow him to avoid the pelting from below - although the guy appears to be wearing a Belter Vacc-Suit and the anti-meteorite protection in those is as good as a bullet-proof vest! The fact that he doesn't land in a heap at you feet suggests that he's still on the ladder. The duck back in is well timed as shotgun fire from someone on the deck above rattles through where you were stood - and you hear the clack of another round being chambered by whoever fired that.

Zid, Noor and Miya
Zid has been pushed out of the way and Noor is on the floor with Miya on top of her. Following the explosion of the grenade, two people come round the corner of the lift. One turns to face the stateroom door to view the bodies, the other moves into the main crew area and shouts "Clear". The first - on seeing Zid fires - but shoots wide. Zid returns fire but the stunner has no discernible effect. Does Noor wish to shoot? If so, she will be shooting past Miya. Miya is getting to a crouch and appears to be about to charge into the border shooting at Zid thus blocking that direction. You can see the other border partially. Alternatively you could just aim and wait for Miya to get clear

Indrani
Captain, We are sending you aid as fast as we can get it there. Our forces have taken fire from around your bay - Your pilot got that air-raft real good. Do you have any idea how many pirates might still be there?

Reven
The ship continues on a steady heading, thrusting up at 0.25G. It sounds like the guy that fell down the shaft earlier is moving about outside your door.

"No, I don't," Indrani replies. She switches to the crew's all-hands channel. "Attention, stand by for rotation and damper shutdown. The spin cycle is starting now, so hang on. Reven, spin us up and kill the compensator and grav fields. Sixty degrees per second, as fast as you can lay it on."

Nālani, standing by the lift door preparing for another shot, hears the announcement, exclaims Maji de?! Bimyō, slaps the "door close" button and runs to Arnwolf, intending to drag him to safety in the pod-bay before the spin throws him and the air/raft around the hangar.

Reven Stiilpahth makes sure he's strapped in best as possible. "Aye Captain. Sounds like i have company down here now." Reven engages the engines and starts to spin the ship and cancels the compensators.

She hears the announcement, and grabs onto the hand rails.I assume they exist, for safety.

She readies the boarding dirk, happy that it has the Eversharp blade.
