Horatio's sense of sartorial stylings is unerring, and although the clothes are well on their way to becoming topsoil he is able to instantly identify both general era -- produced at the end of the Fourteenth Nadir (the Fifteenth Nadir has just ended, heralding the beginning of the Sixteenth Cycle) and even the place they were fabricated. Centuries ago, there was a thriving kingdom to the west of where Junction now stands, the Skeldrene Empire, and the hoity-toity and high muckety-mucks were known for wearing just such a combination of silks and satins. It was a time when the wealthy -- or those aspiring to be so -- dressed in flashy, ostentatious fashions. This woman -- as it appears the skeleton was once female -- was likely well off, or desired to be seen such.R.R. Brando wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 8:59 pm Horatio
Could I use my knowledge of history to place a general time period on the skeleton (assuming it has clothes or armor on) and chests?
*The first chest contains 500 finely stamped platinum coins, bearing the likeness of a regal-looking woman and, on the inverse side, a mountain-lion, rampant. In the Skeldrene Dynasty, Horatio knows that such coins were called concols, back in the day.
*The second chest contains 300 platinum coins and a dozen gems, worth the following amounts: two at 10 gp, two at 15 gp, six at 25 gp, one at 100 gp, and one at 500 gp.
*The third chest contains another 300 platinum coins and a single, perfectly cut diamond, that looks to be worth somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,500 gold alcedes.
