[Open] Casketlands - The Unbidden Wind

I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.

[Open] Casketlands - The Unbidden Wind

#1 Post by Samwell Turleton »

The game:
Short narrative stories set in the Casketlands, a bleak occult western Role-playing game with a focus on making difficult decisions as a group.

The rules:
It is from an RPG zine that was created by Marie Enger and kickstarted into being. It follows a really basic rule set derived from the Apocalypse World system.

The vision:
This game will be about crafting a narrative of survival in a bleak, gothic, desert, western landscape. The story centers around a dying town cut off by rows of caskets and vicious monsters unearthed by extreme drought and brutal winds. You are not valiant heroes in the Casketlands - you are just trying to survive the end times.

Download:
Rules and the original art are available here - https://www.casket-land.com/

Visuals:
I am hoping to create new artwork/sketches to support the narrative as the story goes along.

Game Start:
The game has started and is available to browse. There are abundant opportunities for new players to join the game. Post here or send me a message if you are interested!

I also backed it and have a copy. I'd be glad to play if you want to kick the wheels.

I struggled to run it myself. I'm interesting in hearing your impression.

Sounds fun. I'd be interested in playing, especially if there might be some artwork to see.

Thank you both for your interest!

I will see if any other interested people trickle into this thread but may just try to do some drawing and start a forum to see if that can help gather some more attention.

I am changing my tune a little bit. I think I am going to try to kick off a story before I hit the road seeing that a post already started in the character thread. I updated the character and introduction threads - please take a look through those and let me know if you have any questions.

Anyone is still more than welcome to join!

Update: thenewflesh you have been added to the game.

I'm sorry all, my RL situation has changed and I have to drop out. I wouldn't be able to be very active until August or so. Have fun!

Having a great time in this game! GM makes a really immersive game world that allows for a lot of creativity, and the players' posts are excellent.

I would like to give this thread a bump to let people know that the game has started up again. The game is open to new players if anyone wants to take part in it. The rules are easy to pick up and can be found by following the link in the first post to the creator's free download.
