Maggie
To Miya: I will come along, as soon as it is safe to unharness. No point, if the ship suddenly goes sideways.
She is waiting for the ship's movement to "calm down," before she releases the straps on Reven's bunk.
I am glad at least the room was unoccupied.
She has Pranit's cutlass, and really wants to use it on one of the invaders.

Pranit grabs his shotgun, puts it on safe.
"Wrap a towel around your hand for now. Medic later."
Pranit grabs his Blasting Sphere from the open weapons case and heads to where he was disassembled.
"The boarders knife should be around here somewhere."

Indrani continues. "Kill our accel until you can correct our attitude. Make sure the emergency beacon is active, get us pointed forward again, and then go to max thrust for one minute."

Re: Chapter Nine: Year 300, 6th Day
Combat turn 28
Reven
Instrument/blind flying has never been Reven's favourite occupation. With no horizon in sight he's worried that the great big rock is too close. The grinding sounds of the door on the side of the ship have now gone and the hiss in the comms headset clears suddenly - the sound of the crew's chatter suddenly becoming audible. With no external references, all Reven can feel is unreliable - acceleration, gravity and inertial compensators all add to confuse the senses.
Arnwulf and Nālani
The ongoing battle finally comes to an end. Arnwulf's space axe has just become too heavy to wield effectively and the intruder side-steps it and even manages to take if from Arnwulf - although it ends up on the floor! And at that point, Nālani discharges her snub-pistol into the assailant's back - causing the assailant to slump forward and land on the floor.
Indrani and Tiberius
Indrani's terminal is definitely just showing local data - steward's inventory and passenger manifests! But the headsets are suddenly clear of hiss: Comms are back!
The crew deck
The crew finally have good comms and Zid can suddenly contact her sergeant clearly. Zid asks for a situation report.
The remainder of those on this deck are trying to keep and eye on both entrances while being prepared for any future lurches. Pranit recovers his shotgun.
I can see us lifting off - its a bit wobbly but basically up. The bay's a mess and the air-raft seems to have fallen into it. There are people in the airlock - they are hauling one in who's sort of hanging out.
Now if you'll excuse me I think I need the facilities!
Assana reports I can't get into the queen at all. while Noor is trying to discern what's going on in the lift-shaft but is unable to do so because of the noises behind her.

Re: Chapter Nine: Year 300, 6th Day
Indrani opens the traffic control emergency channel, and the law enforcement emergency channel. "MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY. This is the Queen of the Belt at Bay Thirteen Thirteen. We are being boarded by hostile gunmen, and we have lost our sensors. We are underway, but not under control. Request immediate assistance! MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY." She also starts the emergency beacon and the emergency transponder code to warn off any other craft or ship in their path.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 6:32 am Combat turn 28

She's doing the equivalent of calling 911 (or 999), and transmitting on 121.5mHz, plus starting an ELT and squawking 7700 on the transponder.

Re: Chapter Nine: Year 300, 6th Day
The attempt to get to the ships main comms is unsuccessful. Everything is on local access only - and local comms access is on the bridge. Zid has independent Police comms and Nalani, Arnwulf and Miya have Vacc Suit comms...Pranit's vacc-suit comms are on the floor of the crew deck amongst the remains of his vacc-suit.
Internal inter-ship comms are, however, working (from appropriate panels to specific panels) and the headsets are up and going.

Re: Chapter Nine: Year 300, 6th Day
Then Indrani should still be able to access the emergency services, correct?BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 3:01 pm The attempt to get to the ships main comms is unsuccessful. Indrani calls emergency services on her comm and asks them to relay her message to traffic control immediately.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 4:29 pmShe can dial them from her phone!joertexas wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 4:20 pmThen Indrani should still be able to access the emergency services, correct?BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 3:01 pm The attempt to get to the ships main comms is unsuccessful. After a discussion about "What is the nature of your emergency" she is finally put through to the border security team's watch office.

Are you in any danger?

Re: Chapter Nine: Year 300, 6th Day
Nālani kicks the collapsed figure in the head and exclaims Kusottare! before kneeling to search the body for weapons. Her first instinct was to put a round into the head and finish him, but that moment of anger passed and she remembers the person is both a source of information and a negotiable asset.
As she moves to retrieve her machine-pistol and load a fresh magazine into it she talks to Arnwolf: We are both hurt Arnwolf, but you look worse than me. So many suit breaches! Patch yourself, I will cover you.
She looks around for something to restrain the intruder and as Arnwolf deals with his wounds she tests the clearing comms to see what channels she can hear clearly, starting with crew comms: Nālani calling. I am with Arnwolf on the hangar deck. Who hears me? Moving on she tests external channels, listening for traffic.

Arnwulf
Shoots the prone man and strips him of useable gear. Does he have a radio Comms link to his comrades?
Is the grav vehicle and other boarders inside the ship. Where are the next group of boarders to repel?

Nālani
The quick check for weapons reveals a holstered cartridge-fed laser pistol. There is a spare magazine in a belt. There is also a gas grenade and a small electrical toolkit and handy collection of bits for attaching to computer networks - cables, clips, bugs.
A loud "Bang" by your ear draws your attention to the fact that Arnwuf has just killed your information source.
Arnwulf
Slipping the barrel under the faceplate and "Bang" and the intruder is definitely dead. Nālani jumps at the shot! Looking that the bloody mess in the helmet, retrieving the helmet's comms units is going to be bloody.

Re: Chapter Nine: Year 300, 6th Day
Very good Maam. We will contact the tower and warn them of your status. How many intruders do you have aboard? Are they in control of your craft? Your craft is listed as armed. Do they have control of its weapons?
