Not on that list, but it was taken into account on budgeting.

There's a fly-over of Kabul/Avastan Down at the beginning of this and a longer aerial section beginning at 15:15. In between are some of Gaughan's lads.

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
We need a cover for our presence and activities. Obviously selling isn't it. How about buying/hiring?
Most of us aren't going to pass for merchants, we're too obviously what we are. However, looking to purchase hooky military gear might be a good way in to the pirates, and is essentially what I've been doing anyway.
Recruiting takes us around and about chatting to locals.

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
Good idea. If we can find an office near our target with good LOS to the target that would help with the cover and also with some of the recon. Also means less people being brought back to the ship.
Of course, people may notice and it might draw attention and recon on us, but in a way that is good as it focuses their attention in one place, as long as we keep the pretence while we are in the office. We'd need our techs to do regular bug sweeps.

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
Perhaps whomever has a non-military outfit could purchase some local clothes to allowing the everyone to blend-in if we leave the space port.

As to disguises it will be apparent that anyone wearing an ushanka, filter mask and greatcoat will be unidentifiable at anything more than a few yards away.

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
I forgot to mention, in the new equipment buy there is an officer-grade suit of Chameleon Combat Armour each for Freya and Kit (and another for Gaughan).
Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
We could also take the ship back into orbit, and either deploy from there, or pick another area/town to deploy and start training. Cover or not, it wouldn't hurt to run some field exercises.shaidar wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 8:14 am Good idea. Ask Tiglath. I have a little budget left.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 2:51 pmAny chance of some vislight chameleon kit bags for transporting "Stuff" out of sight? The Bindoner wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 2:37 pm I forgot to mention, in the new equipment buy there is an officer-grade suit of Chameleon Combat Armour each for Freya and Kit (and another for Gaughan).
Speaking of which, I can buy/have already acquired a second PGMP-12. Expensive, but worth it I think. I'm thinking it goes in Kit's squad with Whiskey rated at HW/HiEnergy 2, Rifle 1 to operate it. Thoughts?

BTW - My group don't seem to have names or any combat skills! Any chance someone has the ability to teach them how to hold a rifle safely, keep it clean, etc as we fly through jump-space?

Prerna may still remember which end of the gun points at the enemy.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 5:29 pm BTW - My group don't seem to have names or any combat skills! I still think we should take the ship back into orbit, and deploy to another town or settlement to run some training exercises.

The answer is yesBackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 2:51 pm Any chance of some vislight chameleon kit bags for transporting "Stuff" out of sight?
the but is since this would be civvy stealth rather than military gear (less spies/deniable people) it will run right through "v. expensive" and into "f. expensive".
The expense would preclude general issue but "background blending near invisible luggage" (if I understand the request correctly) would be doable for one or two depending on capacity 20 to 50 KCr. Like all stealth tech it is advantageous but not perfect and becomes more detectable as range closes. Invisible hasn't been invented but this would get you close to the security guy before he notices your big old bag of Matrix/Deadpool guns.

I'll give them names and traits / skeleton personas. Has the list "crystalised" yet?BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 5:29 pm BTW - My group don't seem to have names or any combat skills! If someone can direct me to the finished article I'll set to!

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
This is very doable. Although it appears you have a couple of days' grace before being bothered by the "authorities".
OOC for All: You arrived at the down port partially by GM fiat but also because the McClellan crew didn't fancy wilderness refuelling in "pirate central" and they were paid to get you here - so they did!

Did we decide to hire a co-pilot for the Gun-Launch?Launch Pilot - Pilot 2/Sensor Op 1

Freya's Techies:
Comms guy Comms 2/Electronics 1
Drone Op Remote Ops 2/Sensors 1
Drone Op Remote Ops 2/Comms 1
Drone Support Electronics 2/Comms 1
LAD:
Mechanic - Mech 2, Engineer 1
Sparks - Electrics 2, Mech 1
Grav Tech – Demo 2/CbtEng 1
Driver - Grav Vehicle 1, Comms 1, Mech 1 (I believe we can afford a second air/raft for the LAD)
Ambulance crew:
Driver
2x Medic – Medic 2, Leader 1/Medic 2, Sensor Op 1
Mortar Portee:
Mortar-man - HW/Mortars 2, Rifle 1
Assistant - Hw/Mortars 1, Fwd Obs 1, Rifle 1
Loader - HW/Mortar 1, Cbt Engineer 1, Rifle 1

Edited:
Freya's Techs have negotiable skills, the above is only a suggestion and she can assign them as she likes (within the established limits of 2/1)
I'd hope that, having signed on as mercs, they'd have at least Pistol or Rifle 0

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
I think we agreed a co-pilot would be a good idea, with sensors as a secondary skill, IIRC.
