So, we need some good accountants to find the best way to use the charitable works to offset tax.

Going to move into transit and arrival on Avastan shortly. I believe we have the recruitment and shopping fixed and agreed - if not yet in written form. However, no worries as that can catch up as we move gently forward.

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
First pass recruitment, thoughts welcome (Skills can be revised, extra personnel or different mixes are possible):
8 more rifles, 2 each to Kit, Prerna, Jakob and Jess.
2 Tankers from Inchin, commanding vehicles. G-Carrier and APC probably.
Drivers for each vehicle (except the Technical, unless Freddie wants to switch to another role).
2x G-Carrier, 1x Technical, HQ bus, Ambulance, Mortar Carrier - so 5/6 individuals with Driver 2, Rifle 1 (or maybe Mechanic 1/Rifle 0?)
Techies:
Comms guy Comms 2/Electronics 1
Drone Op Remote Ops 2/Sensors 1
Drone Op Remote Ops 2/Comms 1
Drone Support Electronics 2/Rifle 1 (perhaps Mechanic or Comms)
LAD:
Mechanic - Mech 2, Engineer 1
Sparks - Electrics 2, Mech 1
Grav Tech - Gravitics 2, Electrics 1
Driver - Grav Vehicle 1, Comms 1, Mech 1 (I believe we can afford a second air/raft for the LAD)
Ambulance crew:
2x Medic – Medic 2, Leadership 1/ Medic 2, Sensor Op 1 (second skill: Leader/Computer/Recon?)

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
I thought the pirate gig was going to become the new HQ, plus we'd need a copilot for it.

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
Good point.
Co-Pilot: Pilot 2/Sensors 1? Or would we prefer Comms1, or maybe even Gunner?

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
We seem to have a few guys with comms around (now), but not sensors. Would the sensor skill allow him to use the new shiny EW system we bought?

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
Well, in MgT space combat it's Sensor Op that handles EW, so probably. Co-Pilot keeps the sensor skill then?
The Ambulance has ECM too, doesn't it? Second Medic has Sensor 1, useful skill for an ambulance crew.
If we buy a second air/raft for the mechanics we still have nearly 500k to spend on drones.

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
Sounds like sensors is the right skill for the co-pilot.
Yup, ambulance has expensive EW suite too, so that that's a useful skill choice for medic 2.
We don't have to spend all of it you know

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
It might be a transport option for the HQ - dependant on mission . It's relatively big, expensive and needs an LZ and security for extended operations and so might act more as air support rather than Tactical HQ in some circumstances.
As well as the co-pilot I believe it will require a "bombardier"/door gunner (Auto Wpns 1) in its current configuration. That's only if it is going to perform air support/independent ops. If it is carrying the HQ unit one of them can surely perform that role.
As per the above it can also provide valuable sensor coverage at range / from orbit so picking which role to commit it to is going to be key. By the same token you may not necessarily want Force HQ stuck in the back of the bus if it's in orbit.
Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
To me it sounds like the co-pilot also having the sensor skill would be useful for both the transport/support role and the orbital sensor platform role.
Do we have many people with Auto Weapon?

As per my last the eight new riflepersons recruited on Collace will be:
"Killer" Queen*: proudly ticks an HR & diversity box. Rated as a sniper but signed on for infantry - stated he doesn't like the waiting...
"Jolly" Roger*: an oddly happy soul. Rumoured to have served at an early age as a steward aboard the pirate ship the Black Pig...
Esfor "Sugar" Sugar*: a competent soldier and, no doubt, an incredibly high maintenance girlfriend. Ex escort. It's Collace...
Ankash Tango aka "Tango One"*: Ex regular army, then Collace street soldier, now found yet another kind of merc to be.
Un Vieillard aka "Uncle"*: Old, scraped through the physical. Excellent discipline, weapons handling and tactical awareness.
Børge Rosenbaum aka "Victor": competent enough soldier and accomplished musician. Sword Worlder.
Jack Hackett aka "Whiskey": competent, if monosyllabic, veteran soldier.
Raymond Ecks aka "XRay Spex": competent soldier, inconsistently genius to average level scout.
These are the best of the available candidates (aged 26 to 34) Jess could find and all passed the standard psych eval and background checks for professional mercenary hire application on Collace.
* Means that intuition suggests that they may have successfully lied about their CV. It's Collace - this is a degree of competence!
Just don't start Jess off on those lunatics, Walts and serial deserters she detected and filtered out during the recruitment phase.
Bottom Line: All are (likely more than) qualified and competent for the role you require.
The squad leaders can now fight over who gets who!

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
I forgot to add the Mortar section to the previous recap.
Using the 3 skill points as free distribution, how about:
Mortar-man - HW/Mortars 2, Rifle 1
Assistant - Hw/Mortars 1, Fwd Obs 1, Rifle 1
Loader - HW/Mortar 1, Cbt Engineer 1, Rifle 1
The driver is on the list I put up earlier. Pool of 6.
BTW, if we buy an air/raft for the mechanics there is 250k for drones and EW. If the mechanics are immobile at HQ its 500k.

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
Freya will talk to the entire set of SEMC members while they are aboard ship or on-planet at Collace looking to see what unreported skills might lurk in the ranks. Do we have a forger, historian, submariner, scientist or linguist hidden amongst us? Always useful to know. Is there a struck -off Vetenarian?
