Helix Bulletin board.
Helix Bulletin board.
In the center of Helix there is a large wooden framed board where notices regarding advertising, wanted 'dead or alive' posters, quest recruiting, promotions, church 'hatched, matched and dispatched' declarations and other town news is displayed.
Characters may pay the town crier 1gp to pin any note to the board and get him to vocalize the issue in his daily bell ringing broadcasts.
Always include a time stamp for when your notice was posted. Use this to leave general messages, provoke interest in your expedition ideas, do planning across time stamps, taunt other parties, or whatever other creative uses you want to put it to.

'Clive at The Hive'
Perturbing news has reached the apiarists of the Crooked Yew hives that several of our native bee species are succumbing to a rare and strange fungal virus which inflicts its victim with bizarre habits leading to death. We wish to recruit able bodied environmentalists who may assist us to delve deeper into this mystery before it sweeps through the colonies.
We are sweetening this approach with jars of Royal Jelly as payment. Please enquire at the hive location in Blackened Forest.

Harvest time!
is upon us and the cocoons are budding, webs streak across the Blackened Forest in silky threads. Seamstress's await at the loom to weave plush raiments of wonder.
Needed: vice grippers and drum spoolers to venture into the spider webs and harvest the threads before entanglement and bait ruin the purity.
10gp paid per full spool brought to the weaver's shed. Please see your local artisan craftsman Valeron for further details.

Red Erik
Seeks willing adventurers to brave Basilisk Wood and retrieve for internment in his ancestral crypts, the petrified body of our kinsman and comrade, 'Wargslayer' Sturgaard.
A dwarven warrior of noble stock, true and unbending. With hammer in hand he feared not to look death in the eye.
Enquire at the forge for details:

Re: Helix Bulletin board.
I don't see any other "time stamps" here in this thread, but after scouring the other posts, I believe it is currently April 28th, so that's the date I used. Please correct me if this is wrong.
April 28th (Early Morning)
Any adventurers (or commoners alike) looking for information on their newly acquired items can contact Orange Haired Sven, the newest mage in Helix.
He possesses the arcane ability to ascertain the hidden magical properties of certain items, and for the cost of the materials, plus a small wizards fee, he can identify (with a certain degree of accuracy) what powers are bestowed upon your own magic items.
Contact Bollo at the Brazen Strumpet if you have difficulty locating the Orange Haired Mage.
(One gold coin deducted)

Great minds cross-post alike.

Re: Helix Bulletin board.
The town crier rings his bell.
April 30th 1066
'Honour & Glory'
The town is pleased to announce the triumphal return of their youngest nobles. Questing to retrieve an ancient artefact, our gallant youth, the pride of Helix and heartthrobs to many a maiden, ventured forth to the Barrow Mounds.
Where upon they braved death defying corpses, held firm against the Tyrannus onslaught and slew the great Barrow Grizzly beast, whose fiery red eyes burned with abyssal hatred and whose fanged maw devoured the living flesh.
Harken to the tavern songs reciting their wondrous journey and avail yourself of a signed portrait of the Ten pole Terrors, heroes of Helix and vanquishers of doom.
yours for only 1sp from Sven, while stocks last.

The town crier advertises
May Day Festivities
The first public festival of the year is upon us and we join as a community to celebrate the Death of Winter and the Resurrection of Spring.
While business and merchants close for the day, Helixians of all faiths and none are invited to attend and share in the ongoing festivities.
Maypole dancing will take place around the newly erected pole in the market place with the crowning of the Maiden Queen, traditional fayre and cultural dancers and the blessing of the village springwell. Evening fireworks by torchlight and the sombre pageant of the acolytes of Herne will take place in the shadow of his statue.
All participants are encouraged to dress for the day, prizes won for most original costumes.

Foxrell,
"I hereby give notice of my intention to seek brave adventures willing to scout the infamous Barrow Moor in regard to continued incursions of lizard folk and their continued decades long siege of a particular Mercian Mound. Why do these saurons' consider this their sacred ground? What evil lies within this barrow?
Come venture with me and we shall enrich ourselves of their ancestral trove and solve this enigma.'

Obituary to Dawg Dann
Vann Hector pays -1gp to the Town Crier to toll his bell and inform the village of the sad passing of Dawg Dann
"A brave man who gave his life in the hope others could be saved. He searched the riverbanks as a good shepherd seeking the lost, not content to let even one stray fall beneath the fowler's snare or to the jaws of the wolf.
Dawg Dann valiantly defended the lives of his companions against the frogling horde. Sacrificing his own that others may live, he took twelve arrows to his mighty heart before St Ygg took him home.
Take a minute's silence to remember this village hero."
Dawg Dann: died April 30th 1066. Funeral service at the Chapel of Ygg's day after tomorrow. Commerorative flowers most welcome.

Attention:
"Do you speak with Forked Tongue?
Does serpentine vocabulary slip over your lips in lizard lisps?
Have you knowledge of Swamp Cant?
If 'Yes!' to any if the above, you may just be the answer to my Crommian prayers!
Brave adventurers and linguists of Lizardman speech are sought most urgently to take part in a fact finding mission to a Sauron Temple in the Barrow Mounds.
All classes and races welcome. Bring a sword!
See: Golgarth or Foxrell at the taverns for an expedition leaving no later than May 10th.
