That's not too bad for recoil, and the stabilized frame sounds like a really good idea. It'd make accurate firsts shots much easier.Leitz wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 5:10 pm Even at TL 7 or so you should be able to build gyroscopic stabilization into the tube's support frame. Easy enough to do GPS coordinates from launch site and target, to get elevation and direction. Would have to do some computer math to account for firing energy, different gravity, wind, coriolis, etc.
Recoil might be fun to calculate: http://www.jpyro2.com/wp-content/upload ... 43-747.pdf

I was searching the stacks today, couldn't find the book I was looking for, but I did find a partner to Torpedo Leader:
Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
joertexas, do Prerna and Erica want the wedding before leaving for Avastan, or afterwards? Jakob would probably spend much of the trip back planning the background stuff, and working with whomever on the front end.

After this op, yes.

Ooooh, that means you can have guests from "outta town"!
They might add glamour and pathos and... be interesting...
Oh, and ... er ... add joy!
That, of course... nothing else...

Looking over the list I see we haven't nailed down the drone buy, or specialist mortar rounds (there is an overlap there).
I believe we still have over 750k available.

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
My instinct is against you being able to get an 8cm drone that will do more than the drones you already have. Yes they would give immediate real time battlefield Intel but would have the same risk against AA as your other drones.
However, they sound like really expensive expendables so you should obviously buy them!

Even to folk not from Collace Avastan just seems like the place where you might need a cash reserve - in a duffel bag.
NB You have a lot of airborne sensors on your TL13/14 milspec AFVs so have definitely gone up a league there.
They really are the tactician's AFV...

Here's a couple of views of the mortar technical with the sliding top:

More lovely art!
As a thought a central split in the roof (bow to stern) would allow the two halves of the roof to drop down over the vehicle sides. This would perhaps give more armour where you need it and maybe less obstruction to vision.
However, as shown the driver retains overhead protection.

Is there any other investment we need at The Bartizan? IIRC there were a number of floors that still needed 'renovating', any other equipment that might be an investment to improve it's return, or is 750k nowhere near enough to do anything more than a lick of paint?

Re: Avastan Planning & OOC
That pit is hungry for your money!
About 200KCr would functionally and cosmetically upgrade the place to looking like it should be inside rather than outside the fence. The "flip" would take it from "crack house" to "gated community". This would prep all floors for repurposing or immediate use as barrack decks (which just need space).
As you expand you'll need more training and accommodation areas and a mess deck to feed "the tip of the spear", the logistical "tail" plus base security and the growing numbers of "battalion wives" (of all sexes).
50KCr installs a workshop (complete with Mechanic, Electronic and Weapons Tech tools). This includes all other aspects of and gear for your Tech Support with a brand new Mess Deck thrown in for free. This renovates the fort (underneath the flight deck hangers) that was the old 1188th accommodation.

So, sounds like it would be 250k well spent, and a signal to Collace to where the SEMC is going, particularly potential customers and employees.
It also sounds we're going to have to spend it sooner or later before we can fit classrooms and open a training school.
What do you guys think?

Spend it!
As you say, we'll have to at some point, and it counts as advertising.
500k for EW doo-dads then.

Cool, that refurb, plus the hospital floor is going to mean The Bartizan is going places!
We'll need a logo and a catch-phrase for the side of the building
