Raven takes the dragon helmet for herself and the red metal dragon sculpture as a gift for Áshildr (listed/described as "Incense burner from old god. Is good, like new. Before-people helmet"). After a couple of attempts she manages to distract Remington from staring at the (bioweapon) cannister. She gestures at the spoils "Many Names, your magic has been strong, take one piece for yourself".

She orders Ingunn to return with one of the random townsfolk and then instructs Rúna "Empty the shop of the jewel stones". She cautions her bodyguard "I have lost one of my bodyguard to a trap and will not loose another. The All Father has no interest in those killed by not using their wits". Indicating the hapless militia man she orders "Have that fool dressed as a warrior open every cabinet and drawer before you do! Those are my orders".

Turning back to Eshargamelat she says "Now on to the house and the main prize. Guide me to the lockfast place".

She turns to the militia chief and says in Imperial "You are a leader - lead!" she directs him through the door shattered by Ridley's craft. If he hesitates or doesn't understand Raven is more than happy to practically demonstrate by propelling him to where he needs to be.

Indicating the hapless militia man she orders "Have that fool dressed as a warrior open every cabinet and drawer before you do! Those are my orders".
Rúna grins Don’t worry, Raid Leader, I know the routine. I might not be smart enough or nimble enough to pick locks, but I’ve cleared out a few places before. Strong and ruthless, me. Useful person on a break-in.

She unsheaths her sword and shows it to the militia man, who is terrified of her. Using the blade to gesture she directs him into the shop, dragging an empty packing case behind her as she follows.
Turning back to Eshargamelat she says "Now on to the house and the main prize. Guide me to the lockfast place".
Eshargamelat walks toward the house explaining I can guide you to Zanit’s store, but I cannot unlock the doors or make them safe. I only know this room and the shop.
She turns to the militia chief and says in Imperial "You are a leader - lead!" she directs him through the door shattered by Ridley's craft. If he hesitates or doesn't understand Raven is more than happy to practically demonstrate by propelling him to where he needs to be.
He does not comprehend the words, but easily understands the physical demonstration, stumbling to join the other militiaman already cowering in the passage.

Eshargamelat watches then points up the corridor.

[The right-hand door is Zinat’s office. The left door is the kitchen and stairs to the cellars. There are two. The western one, first door on the left, is Zinat’s private store. The stairs in the kitchen go to the household store.

Raven nods and delegates burgling the store to Rúna. She then prods the militiaman forward until he has stood at the threshold of both Zinat's private store and her office. If he survives the "recon" Raven will secure him pending his next contribution.

She then calls up Ridley "The shaman Many Names has worked his magic and our "tongue" here has told all she can. We now need a different kind of magician. Can you makes these doors disappear?"

She will point out the route "cleared" by the militiaman and the door to the private store and office indicating the private store as the priority.

Leon will also patch a call to Ingrid How are things looking up there? Any movement, just in case the locals get ideas send a few rounds off, we want to keep them on their toes
Ingrid replies: A man ran past toward the tunnels. He came from where Raid Leader is, so I let him go. Where should I shoot, Chief?
Listening to the Raid Leaders progress, Kar is pleased. He is not, however, pleased with Leons' suggestion to Ingrid.

Ingrid, belay that order. Lets not stick nettles up the bulls arse unless we need to Leon!
Smiling at the hazy memory of a drunken night in his youth, where he recalls Leon losing a bet and a tooth after doing exactly that.

Ridley is more than happy to oblige and takes the same approach and technique as he did with the previous door.

Leon is now bored the missile is now nicely stored safe and secure, the initial adrenalin rush of the raid has now departed and Kar has ruined his only bit of fun to be had. Ridley gets to blow stuff up and everyone else seems to have something to do.

Looking for a distraction he mentally places a bet with himself 5 bottles of rum that the militiaman gets it in the next few minutes. He then waits and watches.

Ridley happily picks up his bag of tricks and walks down the corridor, pushing past the two militiamen.

A quick check above the doors doesn’t seem to show any drop-plates, so he simply places his charges on the lock and hinge points of the doors.

Returning to the workshop he is tentatively followed by the militia, who stay close to him.

The detonation in the passageway is loud, but doesn’t have the ringing sound of the workshop door – apparently these doors were not formed of metal plates, but were solid wood. Both have been blown into the spaces beyond the corridor, which is hazy with smoke and drifting debris.

Raven who had shrewdly put on her Hel faced helmet so as to be shielded from the worst effects of the blast storms forward immediately after the detonation occurs. With the sawn off in her left hand and the massive autopistol drawn from her thigh holster in her right she takes a "tactical glance" into both rooms before sweeping her weapons across both looking to target anything willing to offer her a fight.

If the smoke is a persistent issue she simply blows out the nearest windows with her sawn off. She then looks to finding a void or area within either room that would contain the next target for Ridley's art - a safe.

The house is eerily silent after the detonations, and Raven finds no targets.

To the right is an office with narrow shuttered windows opposite the door. The rectangular room is relatively undisturbed and tidy, but the flying door has knocked a chest of drawers askew. There is another door just beyond it, in the left hand wall (as Raven sees it).

To the left there is another short corridor with four more doors. two are on the left as she sees them, one straight ahead and another to her immediate right.

Rúna and Eshargamelat move through the shop. Remington's activation of the translation software proves vital as Rúna is prevented from dumping items into her packing case by Eshargamelat's horrified intervention. Eshargamelat cannot understand Rúna, but the computer allows Rúna to comprehend that there is plenty of packaging and wrapping things is a good idea. The looting expedition becomes a "transfer of stock".

Having established there is no immediate threat Raven takes an appraising look over the office. It is a tidy space, wood panelled, parquet floor, a few rugs, comfortable chairs around a desk, cabinets and chests of drawers around the walls. A few nice items of loot displayed.

She is about to turn to examine the corridor when her attention is caught by an anomaly. Where the door has dislodged the furniture, and the rug beneath has been moved, there is something … mismatched lines in the pattern of the wooden tiles of the parquet? Yes, there are, at right-angles to the wall cutting through the diagonal layout. The corner of a hidden trapdoor?

In the shop The routine is for the man with the gut wound to open any cabinets and pick up any items as Rúna directs. He brings them to the counter where she wraps things before putting them in her packing case while he gingerly fetches the next thing. They are both clearly anticipating one of the things he touches to trigger a trap, with very different feelings on the matter.

Content that Rúna and the wounded militiaman are packing things properly Eshargamelat leaves the shop and crosses the warehouse floor. On her way the one of the militia standing near Ridley snarls at her: kha'en!

She pauses to scold him: ahemq, ma ba heman hedf kear ma kenam. shema beraa tejaret weqt ba merdem jenguadad , akenewn kearetan temam shedh aset. men darem merdem ra ba cheazhaaa ma kherm. hala keamelaan bash aan shaatan halh gur hestend , anha aad gurefth aned keh kelemat ma ra derk kenend.

Having delivered her comments she stalks off to join Raven. As she goes the Serpent whispers in the crew's ears:

Betrayer
The serpent enjoys that word and repeats it kha'en! Traitor.

Stupid, we work with the same goal. You fought for time with people, now your job is done. I am buying people with things. Now be absolutely these devils are cunning, they have learned to understand our words.

After hauling aside the door Raven drags the chest away, finding it to be surprisingly light. Likely it is empty. Kicking the rug clear she uncovers the area of the trapdoor. It is small, the size of an inspection hatch. A fully equipped raider will struggle to fit through.

There are no obvious handles, locks or hinges, no loopholes or lifting rings.

Kneeling, Raven examines the problem. There are small triangular sections of wood where some of the diagonal parquet tiles are bisected by the edge of the hatch and gentle pressure reveals that two on opposite sides have a little “give”.

Eshargamelat, arriving in the doorway comments Never knew that was there. Must go down to her cellar.

Raven instinctively replies to Eshargamelat in Imperial "Keep back there may be traps".

Thinking aloud she reasons "There will be concealed catches cleverly hidden at the corners" she sighs "or traps..." She takes cover and heaves out her sawn off. She then takes careful aim at the trapdoor's corners before covering her helmet's optics with her arm and letting fly. She trusts that two blasts of buckshot should deal with both the opening mechanism and any anti handling devices. She will then reload before using brute force and a hooly bar to force open the way down.

Keying her comm she states "Where is my dvergr Gulbrandr? I have need of my svartálfar to delve in darkness".

(OOC: At 5'7" and 84kg he's not really a dwarf / dark elf and in fact only is by comparison to the "strapping" specimens who comprise the rest of the warband).

Raven’s shotgun ruins the inlaid woodwork of the floor, splinters and ricocheting pellets flying around the room to mar the furniture.

Applying the pry-bar Raven finds the wood, which easily comes away, covered a metal hatch set in a stone-flag floor. The hatch, and whatever locking system secures it, has survived functionally intact. The edges are at least clear now.

Gulbrandr Is nearby, having been part of Leon’s looting team. His wound has restricted him to working on the smaller pieces, so he has been trotting up and down the stairs to the workbenches.

He arrives eager to be useful.

OOC:
