The man in the doorway ducks when the arrow whizzes past, then turns around and shouts"Oi! Watch it! That's me loaf, that is!" to someone behind him (probably the one who fired the arrow), then faces the adventurers again and finishes off with: "On yer plates then. Ta-ra!" then mumbles something unclear, and draws the doors shut.

Thorelf could see about 3-4 people behind the first man.

All notice that Eaton seems to have entered into a state of holy trance. He follows his companions as they move away from the doorway, but has gone quiet - his usually acerbic comments for the moment silenced by spiritual concentration.

Eaton

Hmm, could that have been one of Al-Yez followers? This is very strange. The stacked zombies is clearly some kind of trap. That goes along with what could be expected of the cult.

Thorelf looks up to the ceiling, pauses, seems to be chewing on something while mumbling for himself.

"That guy ate one to many cave mushroom, can't even speak properly. Let's move on. But I'm not sure we should follow their lead."

If the guys we just met actually closed the door behind them, Thorelf will wave in the others and move over - without too much noise - to the south door instead and examine it.

Korin shrugs at Thorelf "Least they didn't say yer father smelled of elderberries."

I agree. Let’s not take this path of death. At least not now.

Walks towards the opening the party came from.

Tiny, are you alright, or do you need some healing?

Leaving the edgy bunch of geezers behind closed doors, the four pan out into the room, stepping over deep fried and decapitated undead along the way. Eaton ponders more possible clues to cultish activity while Korin remains curious about whether those geezers might have been worth knowing better.

Thorelf motions the others to follow him right across the hall and head for the opposite double doors, set in the south wall. The double doors are almost identical to those on the north wall: solid wood, metal trimmings, big handles. Tiny, thinking of elderberries, joins him, while Eaton turns east back towards the 'towers by the waterfront' area, while offering to heal Tiny.

The soothing sound permeating the premises ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KzFe50RQkQ ) keeps on rising and falling. It comes from nowhere....and everywhere.

Korin starts trying to figure out what is causing that noise that comes from everywhere and nowhere at the same time, then ponders how that is even possible...."Eh? What tha...?"

Eaton

Tiny, come here and pray with me and you will receive the gift of one of my gods. The god will grant you healing depending of how worthy the god think you are.

Which one of the gods do you think that will be kind to you? Uthgar, Mystryl or Hyrsam?

Tiny comes over to Eaton, "I don't know anything about the Gods, you pick one and I will pray with you."

Eaton

Lets see what Uthgar thinks of you Tiny.

Eaton puts his hand on Tiny and starts to pray and heals Tiny.

Tiny gets [1d8]=4 HP back.

Tiny, I have done my best to channel Uthgars power to you. I was quite successful regarding the circumstance. If you start to grant the god more attention. Next time you will get better results.

Thorelf checks the door for obvious traps and tries to listen if there's any noise from inside, except for the ambience.

Find traps (25%): [1d100]=62

Hear noise (10%): [1d100]=42

If there are no traps or noises detected, he tries the door to see if it is open.

Man, hear noise 10% is really low! I was thinking all characters had a 1 in 1d6 (17%) at least. Anyway...

Thorelf may listen both 'normally, as a human', at 2 in 20 or 10% (see DMG p 60), and/or as a 1st lvl Thief skill, at 10% (see PHB p28). In addition, Thorelf's Perception score of 14 gives him a +3% bonus on hearing noises.

Let’s see what we can find behind the door.

Eaton walks over to the door and listens quickly.

Listen
[1d100]=99

Aha, I am certain there is nothing in there. You can open the door.
