Inchin: Endgame
Re: Inchin: Endgame
Wagner smiles as he replies "I believe we mercenaries keep those details confidential, Colonel?" Turning to Kit he says "Colonel Ghoshal if this is true then we need only to administrate a phased withdrawal of your force from the Mansion - perhaps into the Town or direct to orbit?"

OOC for All
If any with a military career care to make a perception knowledge roll please go ahead.
Frank and Kit are at a disadvantage as they are busy negotiating.
Prerna gets a bonus!

Not unless it can be spotted from a drone floating above the mansion! I'm in the shuttle, still checking it out! How is that going?

Freya
Freya realises that a full avionics and flight systems check will no doubt ensure that she "misses going to the ball" as far as the trucial meeting goes. She then realises that perhaps this delay in the potential flight window was somehow a component of something else or even related to the Meeting.
Lieutenant Voss and her sometime escort Dog arrive to provide security while she does her checks.
She can find no damage or anything wrong with the flight systems at first sight.

Prerna over hears a sotto voce mutter from the merc ranks eyeing up the new arrivals. "Wossat, on their 'ats?" a reply comes "Looks like a flower. Maybe they 'as badges for it - like in the Boy Sprouts".
Wheels begin to turn in Prerna's mind...

Electronics Roll (2d6 + Electronics + EDU): [2d6+4]=9+4=13
Computer Roll (2d6 + Computers + EDU): [2d6+4]=5+4=9
The meeting was Trucial? O man!

I'm afraid Jess isn't really on the ball. Paying more attention to our own troops than the enemy perhaps? Besides, she's from a different Sector

"They're Swordy Army units," Prerna says over the command net. "I think we're fine as long as we behave."

Kit's head must be stuck in the surrender part.
I feel vaguely guilty...

Jakob tried to stay quiet. Really...
He cleared his throat, leaned forward slightly, and looked at Frank. "Colonel, his Galanglic is really bad. He's trying to say 'mercenaries' but what he really means is 'A Sword Worlds Special Operations Army unit willing to pose as mercenaries'. Probably why he lied, much easier to say. Sir."
Jakob stood back at attention.

"Major Wagner, given the planet ownership change, it would of course be proper to talk of phase withdrawal to certain the forces, but without understanding of your backing it is hard to assign a level of validity to your kind and generous offer of unconditional surrender."Tiglath wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 4:46 pm Wagner smiles as he replies "I believe we mercenaries keep those details confidential, Colonel?" ooc: I'm assuming that everyone heard Jakob
Frank nods "The Colonel has a point Major. I'm sure SuSAG wouldn't want any complications with their new acquisition"gurusql wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 7:37 pm"Major Wagner, given the planet ownership change, it would of course be proper to talk of phase withdrawal to certain the forces, but without understanding of your backing it is hard to assign a level of validity to your kind and generous offer of unconditional surrender."Tiglath wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 4:46 pm Wagner smiles as he replies "I believe we mercenaries keep those details confidential, Colonel?" Re: Inchin: Endgame
Major Wagner replies to Kit "Sir, if you are in agreement to an immediate phased withdrawal of the remnant Guard units then we have an agreement that can be legalised and the truce can become a general ceasefire allowing peacekeeping duties to commence. If not then my grenadiers have come a long way looking forward to a fight - it would almost be a shame to disappoint them!"
The Major indignantly replies to Frank "SuSAG? That is an Imperial Corporation! My unit is sponsored by McClellan Factors from Trexalon. Colonel, will you now agree to a ceasefire between all McClellan sponsored units and your mercenary unit in order that the diplomats can be safely withdrawn?"
Erica, who has been talking softly into her comm, interjects "Colonel Cross, while I can't agree that the Marches might be a more simple place if everything was settled by soldiers I can see the attraction of such simplicity. However, we live in complex situations which, if not resolved with extreme effort and care by some, can be picked apart by others - resulting in soldiers earning their pay the hard way! Which path do you think we should take here?"

Re: Inchin: Endgame
Jess subvocalises on the comdot to Frank: Inchin's SEP*. Get us and our delegates away. I don't care about the rest. SuSAG an' SW can fight each other, neither of 'em pays us.
* SEP = Somebody Else's Problem. Thanks to Douglas Adams.

Re: Inchin: Endgame
Technically, they do pay Kit - but with effectively a fighting force of zero the Guard will not putting up (or offering) much resistance.

Frank
"Major, we are certainly in disagreement whether or not SuSAG is an imperial company." he looks at Erica and then back at the Major and shrugs "However, ultimately that is not relevant to my position. If you guarantee the safe passage of the diplomats, the SEMC and our assets, and those no longer working for the guard, then I see no reason that a ceasefire between us cannot be reached"
