Chapter 02: Aquifers & anaglyphs
Re: Chapter 02: Aquifers & anaglyphs
The hall's symbol-covered floor is made of marble. It is roughly 60' x 30', shaped a bit like an elongated hex. There are doors on the north and south walls: over at the east end no doors, but a passage continues south-eastwards.

Re: Chapter 02: Aquifers & anaglyphs
Korin stops looking at the bodies further then a strange look comes over his face. "Eh them be undead in a kinda stasis er somethin lads." his eyes a bit wide and his brow shows he is confused by this last part.

Tiny
Tiny will carefully approach the bodies and look them over to see if they have anything useful on them. Ready to defend himself if the are undead.

Tiny will poke each one with his sword, ready for them to move. If they don't he will search them, checking for a pouch, jewelry, keys etc.

Thorelf
"Careful now Tiny. Their bites are contagious. In Franken, Fair Molly was bitten by an undead and her son was born without fingers on his right hand."
He raises his sword, ready to chop off any body part, should the corpse Tiny examines move.

Eaton
The damned undead.
Better keep them off me so I can turn them if needed.
Some of these are quite strong and are not easy to handle.

Re: Chapter 02: Aquifers & anaglyphs
It being a bit difficult to describe this room, I'll give you a visual instead:
Thorelf
tiptoed into the large room first of all, trying to sneak among the shadows, but immediately blew his cover when warning the others about the bodies on the floor.
Korin, Tiny and Eaton
gather round him to look at the oddly knackered bodies. The general feeling seems that they are some kind of variations of undead. And all except Tiny also seem certain of what kind. But are they....re-dead ? Or animated ? Unconscious ? Or somewhere in between ? It is most puzzling. While contemplating this, all hear a faint, slight swooshing sound in the background, coming from nowhere in particular. Like soft wind rustling through branches - but much fainter.
Tiny
then approaches the bodies, and prods them cautiously with his sword. All of the entities smell pretty badly. He notices that they seem to be.....snoozing, for want of a better description. He starts searching them physically while Eaton stays at a respectful distance, and Thorelf clearly warns him about touching such beings.
But Tiny moves in and starts exploring their pockets and other cavities....
...and in the pockets of the first body nearest the 'water' door, Tiny finds
a handful of larvae
worms
a bunch of root-like things
plus 6 c.p.
On body no. 2, he finds:
the tail of a squirrel
a pouch containing some acorns and 3 g.p.,
while on the third body further away - which is smaller and looks more gruesome than the others - he finds:
some unidentified herbs
a 20' rope made of animal hide
19 g.p.
and a vial containing an unidentified liquid.
While digging through the mangled textiles it was inevitable that Tiny would come into contact with body matter. And the last body was more sticky than the others to the touch.
Tiny please roll a 1d20 saving throw.

Tiny
walks away unharmed from coming into contact with the flesh of the ghoul (for that was what it was). He does not feel any paralysis coming on.
The three undead remain slouched in their 'dormant' state, as before.

Re: Chapter 02: Aquifers & anaglyphs
Thorelf shifts footing, uneasy.
"I don't like this place, it reeks of evil. We should carry on. Maybe we should dump these bodies in the water, not to be ambushed later by some foul magician animating them?"

"Would it be better to burn them. That is what we did to diseased bodies in the village."

Thorelf
"Agreed. I hope they can find rest in the afterlife."
Thorelf puts his torch to the bodies, in turn one to three.

Re: Chapter 02: Aquifers & anaglyphs
Korin was moving towards Tiny to be just to the right of him.
