Kit

Kit sees the opposition react in an untactical and disorganised manner and immediately sees that this is a fight that they have failed to win. An enemy trooper wearing a bandana (Black 2) hoses a burst at him with a looted ACR but it goes wide. To the north he sees rounds impact the fountain all about the Recon team and notes 'Arry stagger back against the bulkhead wall with a leg wound and go down. To the west a falxman charges into melee with the merc next to the team's Swordy(?) pilot. He also sees her take a headshot but she gamely stays in the fight.

Unengaged Frank has no “tactical compression” of his view (and so can freely use other PC's info). The insurgents are disorganised and are coming second in this fight - but don't know it yet. He notes that those who leapt into the streambed are unable to return fire as yet.

To the north he sees the QSM's dispositions paying dividends as her fire support element makes its presence felt in support of the recon team. 'Arry goes down but he and Mike may have already won the firefight. He always wondered if Mike's “Sheriff's moustache” was all for show - now he knows. It's always the quiet ones...

Jess has a similar view of events as Frank (and can likewise freely use other PC's info). The northern “battlegroup” have plastered the insurgents putting a number in the dirt but a good portion have made cover in the central trees. The southern group have fragmented but are moving aggressively against the mercs.

Sabots pepper the bulkhead above her and Pte King who whinges “He ruddy shot at me!” In response Kingy takes vindictive and deliberate aim and puts his persecutor in the dirt. He, perhaps rather uncharitably, adds “Wonker!” to his opponent's likely fatal injury.

Insurgents charge towards Freya one (White 9) stops to fire a burst that clips her head and makes her vision blur but she shakes it off. Another maniac draws a flax and charges Freddie who blazes away but fails to even hit the swordsman. Fortunately the attacker is just as inaccurate and smashes his falx into the doorframe next to Freddie.

Kit returns fire (Snap Shot). It looks like Black 5 might be in the way of Black 2. Since Black 2 is shooting at him if Kit can return fire he will, otherwise Black 5. I think I got a good roll. :D

Freya's rolls were here The guy charging Freddie should have dropped before getting to him!

The holes in the two layers of glass (door and window) suggest that her confidence in the "Bullet-Proof" nature of the glass were miss-placed. But her armour has done its job and while there's going to be a nasty bruise and a major cleaning job from the nosebleed where the mask rebounded off her nose at least she isn't going to be dead! Clearly the idiot charging towards her hasn't read the memo that said charging a gauss-rifle is stupid and has taken her head not sighting down the weapon to mean that she isn't aiming! Still, he is right in the targeting camera and the trigger is just a thought away.

Freddie appears to be flustered by the horde who seem intent on charging the door. How he's missed a target of 8 overlapping bodies 2m tall and 2m wide at 10m is something that the campfire stories will have to resolve. :roll:

"Sniper down," Prerna calls over the group comm as she removes the targeting icon on the tac net display. She accesses Baker's med system to determine if he needs immediate medivac, while keeping her weapon up and ready. "Baker is down," she announces.

Prerna Round 2

Prerna is able to examine Baker. She determines he has been hit centre mass by a large calibre KEAP projectile (likely 20mm) which has gouged a scar in the (liberated non issue) TL 12 breastplate he is wearing* - which no doubt saved his life. He regains consciousness as Prerna examines him mumbling "Easy gerroff - the Major'll catch us!" He can take no further immediate action but, quite miraculously, Prerna reckons he might get back in the fight after a quick "breather".

(OOC: * Off the pirates. I'm not sure if you issued it so have assumed it was placed under the secure guard of people from Collace.

Medic Roll(2d6)+2: 6,6,+2 Total:14 :shock: He lives!!!

Even with a few minuses for haste etc Prerna can clearly just "lay on hands" and heal folk! :D )

And through his armor, no less :shock:

"If you're done napping, we're in a firefight here," Prerna quips and claps him on his armored shoulder. "Cover your sector. The other guy is very dead. Good shooting." Prerna scoots over to cover the west side again, and starts looking for people to kill.

Kit Round 2

Kit instinctively shoulders his ACR and puts a burst of discarding sabot ammo into the centre mass of the guy who shot at him. His target folds forwards, drops his weapon, hits the ground and doesn't move.

Threat neutralised.

I'll walk you through the process:

Kit targets Black 2 with a snapshot (having used the other “half” of his AP for the round on movement).

He rolls to hit at -2 modified by +2 for Dex (with ACR), +2 for Rifle skill, +2 autofire bonus from that weapon. This last cancels the -2 so your result below is correct.

+2 for DEX, 2 level in Rifle = 16

Not sure of the targeting system, but it looks like a d8, if not I will let you roll the next step.
Targeting [1d8]=2

Basic Hit Location to account for mixed armour types on a d8 (1 Head, 2 Right Arm, 3 & 4 Chest, 5 Left Arm, 6 Torso, 7 Right Leg, 8 Left Leg).

So with your d8 score of 2 the target is hit in the Right Arm.

He's wearing looted CES covering all areas except the head in (mid tech) Cloth with a defensive Armour Value of 6.

Effect is 2d6 + Pen value of 9mm ACR firing Discarding Sabot rounds (optimal choice vs. an armoured target). The Pen of DS rounds is 6.

So Roll(2d6)+0: 5,3,+0 Total:8

So 8 +6 (ACR firing DS) – 6 the AV of a Cloth CES = 8

A look on the wound chart (bottom of page on link below) reads a result of 8 as a Serious Wound.

Uncertain what happened to her first shots, Freya breathes slowly, shoots at (9) standing in the open near the tree.
Gauss Rifle, Full Auto, Short Range, Snapfire: (Skill + DEX + Auto): [2d6+7]=8+7=15
And then tries for the hostile hiding from Prerna at (4), hoping that one of the group near Frank are dealing with (8)

Freya Round 2

Freya encourages Freddie and then shows him how it's done. Her first burst of needles "wing" the falxman in the left arm but he's still in the fight. However, Freya's second burst angles up through his head. With his skull a ruin the swordsman drops soundlessly. Freddie is grateful and as this is the third headshot Freya's pulled off eyes her with new found respect. "Thank you, Ma'am!" Freddie nervously adjusts his cerise ascot "Him coming at me waving his chopper - it quite put me off my game!"
