"Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
My last hopefully fixed for clarity.
Last section was in red - the rest was for "All" so in a slightly different style which may have been confusing.

We're once more divided by a common language!BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 4:33 pm I understood the in-action thread standard to be
Red is not audible dialog...just thoughts on the attack and quality of the Baron's staff!
Black is hoped for stage directions and actions
Blue spoken dialog
Green radio comms

I'm operating on a slight variation:
Red OOC
Blue Dialogue
Black Standard Text
Green is usually GM "Commandments"
Italics reinforce the language as above e.g. blue in italics for whispering or telepathy or something equally unusual
But I'd say always add text just to guarantee getting your intent across.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
If you made an informed guess you'd say the missile launcher was the target.
Supporting this theory is the fact that it fired on approach but then not as the craft sped away.
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
I'm wondering why they shot at the hanger approach. Would the plasma weapon be strong enough to render the ramp unusable?
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
The ramp is armoured and lifted and lowered hydraulically (you've all seen it) and so is probably designed to be "bomb proof" as far as conventional artillery and air ordnance goes. However, a direct hit from a pair of star ship sized plasma guns is likely a degree of magnitude way beyond the manufacturer's specification!
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Ah, I'd missed the fact that it's hydraulic. So surgical strikes in preparation for the rest of them. And a good psychological attack too.
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Sorry for my slow response time, I live in the Pacific time zone
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Oh dear, none of us are having good recon rolls

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Don't worry we're a global game!
Just respond when is reasonable for your time zone.

The game won't move without you!

But, on a positive note, you've all been channelling your inner Alan Titchmarsh and have been inspired by the luxurious horticulture with ideas for lawn edging, topiary and things to do with your herbaceous areas!
That must surely be a comfort...

Trouble is that all of us are at "Big Picture" level. It's the troops that are meant to find the enemy, then we'll tell them what to do about it.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
For me it is just being in a combat situation in a suit.

Welcome to the world of too much task and not enough time, resource or intel - and a paymaster who wants to stay until just after the last minute negotiating with a leader who has money and nothing else - but doesn't realise it.

Something I haven't found a way to main thread, thrown up while I can get a connection ( poor internet and obsolete computer ):
Those fighters - open Sword Worlds intervention? Pretty bold if it is. Do we have recordings?
Where's Ms Vitt? She's our ID'd Swordie, probably good to have her netted-in. Or down.

Last seen with her guts duct taped together (nails) whilst defending the civvy staff in the VIP area. The Bindoner wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 2:14 amWhere's Ms Vitt? She's our ID'd Swordie, probably good to have her netted-in. Or down.
Escorted away by Fast Eddie.
She must now be in someone's med facility - most likely yours!

BT, Frank does have his reasons for not wanting to put Freya at risk. Firstly she's a civilian and he doesn't want her to get hurt (he takes such responsibilities seriously), secondly she's the only pilot we've got. Thirdly, a hostage situation with Freya would complicate matters and they're complicated enough as it is.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Yep - I get that...But she's eager to make a good impression. Anyway, she's ready just in case. And her drone is feeding an aerial/EM view to Voss/Dubs and those with tactical display links from there - if that helps
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Cool, I just wanted to be clear that I/Frank is not doing this to spoil anyone's fun.
heavy is the head the wears the crown
The drone feed is good stuff, we need as much tactical info as possible. It seems that whenever we go to help the guard it ends up in trouble for us, no good deed goes unpunished it seems. Maybe we should drop the Ethical and just be the Slightly Mercenary Company
So Frank is wondering whether he's been way too naive, and he really wants to speak to Erica East about it.
