Prerna collects whatever gear is in her quarters, and has her troopers do the same, one at a time.Tiglath wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 6:06 pm I think most of your hard armour was either coming with you or ready to go.

Consider Prerna armoured up!
The (current) defending squad (Beau's / 1st) can also armour up (in shifts) so will be fully kitted out too.
NB The remains of Skip's duty squad are already armoured (Dog and Love) with Skip, Able and Ink wounded.

Before I post may I presume Jess has reached her room and kitted-up?
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
The problem is that the bad guys / interlopers seem to be (possibly) in-between Jess and her "lair" - where she keeps things like her armour... and NCOs from other units that she has lured in and plied with drink...
You have also been up in "officer country" seeing matron for a dab of calamine lotion.

while all this is going on...do you have a layout of where these bad-guys are...several turns appear to be passing while everyone gets dressed and I've still no idea really what's going on exactly and whether there is anything I could be shooting at.

Jess has a foot in both camps. She was assigned a room in officer country and then appropriated the Lair as well. Her original room has the en suite fresher, so she retains it as her sleeping quarters.Tiglath wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 8:00 pm The problem is that the bad guys / interlopers seem to be (possibly) in-between Jess and her "lair" - where she keeps things like her armour... and NCOs from other units that she has lured in and plied with drink...

I was thinking the Lair is more an office/lounge area. The CES was there because Jess had worn it for the race and her day wasn't ended.
But of course, that's just my ( likely flawed ) idea of things.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
That's an entirely SNCO wheeze to pull.
So, Jess can armour up if that's where her "armoury" is!
I heard shady stories of a SNCO in Bosnia who had "commandeered" an entire floor of a block of flats as his personal "fiefdom". In a land where Mars bars were currency and jeans were worth a small fortune it was perhaps no surprise.

Looking at the new map I realise Love was in the doorway nearest Jess's room. Thought she was elsewhere, for some reason.
Jess is Medic 1, she would deffo do first offender.*. Shall we say she followed Charlie and Dog?

I'm using the machine my dead one replaced. Dodgy keyboard, processor like the pitch-drop experiment.

Yes - pitch in as "summoned" by Charlie.
We'll bank the medic roll (which will restore Love to combat capable) as "having occurred at some stage".
And, yes, I've met volunteer medics but would rate them as "less dangerous" than volunteer cops. However, this is a matter of degree...
As an aside just finished bingeing "Generation Kill" which I would rate as a "not bad yet cynical" view of the USMC's adventures in the Iraq War under Gen Mattis.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Joer, did you want Prerna to come along on this trip? It seems a little unfair to leave you behind.
I'm just not sure if leaving things in the hands on an NPC, even if it is Voss, will be sufficient.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Here's some observations that will become apparent to the Merc command.
Firstly Voss could no doubt "mind the shop". This is in part due to the consideration that the (lightly equipped) insurgents had effectively one shot at overcoming your position by achieving complete surprise - which didn't happen. The result is that they have suffered catastrophic casualties (which must be near 100% in the forces committed against you).
If, with your troops now alerted and armoured up, you are switching to an offensive posture to push across and control the pool/park then you are "bringing your security with you" as you counter attack.

Yes, Prerna would like to go, too - maybe with her Recon team in the lead.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"

So from Tiglath's post it seems we can leave Voss in charge of securing the prisoners and protecting the diplomats, while we take a squad forward to help the guard, with Prerna and her team in the lead.
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
If this is Patch's team then I don't think we'll survive a fight with them, and we need to be careful as they like to engage hard if threatened. One other possible upside to it being Patch is they are less likely to just blow things up as they like to steal and then sell stuff.
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Not sure I understand. You suggest we shoot some TAC missiles at the strike craft?The_Bindoner wrote:We goin' ter get the missiles away or just prepare a defended zone?
If it's Patch I don't think we can survive a fight, and I think it'd be best not to be aggressive. We're here to protect the delegates, and I'm leery to endanger this by going in blazing.
I'm open to thoughts on this.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Jess is still thinking about the missile battery and the possibility of a third ship kill, don’t take it seriously, it’s just IC.
It would be suicidal to engage a force that large ( at least two assault landers, two starships and maybe fighters ) with one vulnerable missile turret.
Especially if, as you say, it’s Patch.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Tiglath, based on where it was shooting at, is it likely that the fighter that shot at the roof was firing at the missile launcher?

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
We have no-one in a position where they could see. The roof team are inside and we are two floors down. Freya may be able to see the ramp-shots...but the roof is just a "Crump" or "Bang" or whatever and a bit of shaking. Mind you, whoever shot the missile will have had trouble hitting anything as it will have taken the camouflaging tarpaulin we erected with it!
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
We know where the missile battery is located and we know the general area the fighter was shooting at. We would know if the fighter shot at something on a differentpart of the roof.
On a different note, your last post in the IC thread is confusing. Is everything in red actually dialog as it's not clear.

Red is not audible dialog...just thoughts on the attack and quality of the Baron's staff!
Black is hoped for stage directions and actions
Blue spoken dialog
Green radio comms
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Just checking, red is for out-of-character comments, made by the player rather than the character. Internal monologue is usually left black, sometimes in italics.
