The Outer City: People, Places & Things

This my first time in Baldur's Gate. I don' know no one. Think we should stay together. If not, I go by myself. But better to stay together.

that half orc, we saw him back there in the alley next to the entrance gate, he proly didn't like we took the cheese from his friend
tommy looks around to see if there are guards near by
we might as well see what he wants, hes followed us and came by twice now, better to get thigs out in the open
he looks to his companions fo their opinions ready to walk over and talk to the half orc

Erevan nods at Tommy's words, and looks over at Ostis. His body language changes and he seems eager approach the half-orc.
You're right, we should make the first move. What say you Ostis?

Erevan recognizes him too as one of the men in the shadows when they first arrived in Rivington.
As the trio prepares to walk over to the Half-Orc, a young woman approaches him and gives him a pamphlet, like the one they received earlier. But the Half-Orc growls at her, crumples the pamphlet and throws it in her face.
You can't quite hear what she says in reply, but her face is pale and she seems very frightened...

Ostis shakes his head in the negative, but says nothing. His eyes rove occasionally toward the other half orc.

When the Half-Orc notices you turn his way, he calls out:
You all with her? he gestures to the young woman he is talking to. Your Prodigal Son has no place in the Gate.

Ostis shakes his head, a negative. What do you wanna do? I'm for passing these crazies by and moving on. I'll go with you - still think we should stay together.

Tommy shrugs his shoulders, 

it'll be ok Ostis, just look the way you look,  hang back and keep alert
he winks at Erevan and struts towards the half orc

listen friend, not sure what bug crawled up your ass but if you want to make a scene with the guards around, go ahead, or... we can keep cool, play nice and talk, why are you following us?

when he mentions the "prodigal son" bit Tommy gets the pamphlet from his pocket, uncrumpled it and says
we were thinking of catching the show later but what, is it getting bad reviews?

Erevan smiles at Tommy's words and follows him over to the half-orc. Crossing his arms, he stands next to the tabaxi and keeps on high alert. Awaiting any sudden movement from their shady acquaintance, he listens on with anticipation at the next words spoken.

Yarl frowns at the trio. I ain’t followin’ ya, and if you think guards care if we kill each other or not then you aint from the Gate.. He shifts posture and sheaves his throwing dagger and shows his open palm.

I seen you three this morning, this is just a lucky reunion. He gestures at the woman. Guess you aint involved with this shit then.

seeing the dagger being sheathed he says
thats a good start....

i've always been lucky, but if you aren't following us, why was your friend also trying to get with us? 
he eats the last piece of cheese he lifted from the local
another coincidence ?

he eyes the half Orc

tommy shrugs his shoulder and decides not to press the issue thinking they just seem like good marks

as he folds the pamphlet and tucks it in the old lady's pocket he says, 
i guess our friend does not recommend it, then turns to the half orc again
any other recommendations ? Im TommyD'Cat, by the way,

He seems a bit more at ease as he watches the half-orc show his open palms in a sign of peace, allowing his own arms to relax more and no longer caressing the fetchling from the quiver hung firmly by his waist. At Tommy's introduction he decides to follow suite, interested in seeing how this pans out. Name's Erevan. You speak as if you are from the Gate yourself. Eh I wouldn't know, traveled far me'self. Suppose we all have.

Is there a character description anywhere for everyone? If not could we all post it here, I would like to get a better visual idea of what everyone looks like.

Ostis waits in the background for come what may, but continues his silence. The dagger gone from the other's grip, he nods and waits for the conversation to end.

Im Blacktongue Yarl says as he scratches his chin. Yeah I'm from the Gate, been in this shitihole me whole life. He thinks to himself for a moment and then continues This morning we was looking to see if ye all were ripe for pickin', its just the way it is in Outer City. Word is you three are tough enough takin' down a dragon that should keep most off ya. He spits on the ground, You looking for work?

We gots some errands to run. Maybe we catch up later. Ostis offered.

Tommy is surprised that the events at candlekeep got around but tries to play it down and does not say anything about it

he nods when given the name

when asked if looking for work
we might, but our friend has some urgency on his appointment, to be honest i'm not sure who we're supposed to see but there might be a mrs Ostis in baldur's gate
(he jabs an elbow to Erevan and chuckles) 
been at Baldur's Gate a few times but it's been a while, just passed though honestly, if you're heading down the same way it would be good to hear what has happened since 
he gestures with his arm the way they were walking inviting Yarl to join

Yarl's eyebrow raises when Tommy suggest he walk with the group.
Ehh, got a pile of shit to deal with unless you headin' back to Rivington now.

He nods solemnly at Blacktongue's words of picking pockets and the 'incident' at Candlekeep. Suppose one must put food in their belly somehow, he thinks to himself. At Tommy he chuckles softly, Mrs. Ostis must be worried sick.
Back to Blacktongue. We're a tough lot to rob if'n you still have a thought. Otherwise your free to tag along.

As the four of you talk and try to decide what to do, Yarl tries to figure you out a bit more.
He notices that Ostis is a young, Half-Orc, likely a year or two (maybe more) than he.
Erevan carries himself with confidence; his bow is well-used and oiled; his quiver full of newly fletched arrows.
Tommy is a Tabaxi...and one doesn't see many of them in the city, especially passing through the Outer City.

Yarl himself is a Half-Orc as well, but definitely has the look of a ruffian and not like one of the Uthgardt barbarians to which Ostis is likely a member of.
OOC: I can supply pics of your characters, but I would prefer you pick them out based upon your descriptions and how you "see" them.

As you talk, young men and women continue to distribute flyers about the return of the Prodigal Son. What could all this mean? And it seems all of the leaflets are written in fresh blood, dried, but fresh.

Still, there are things to be done > Yarl has his plans and the trio have theirs.
Will those plans cross? We shall see...
