I was surprised to hear the name Zid Umale, how do you know them? I owe a favour from years ago, back when I was a rock-hopper. I was planning on making contact again while we were working dockside.

"I don't know any of them personally. But I do keep up to date with the various news flashes. Especially since I work on a ship that is in the news. Dead scientists, some missing chemist student. Arguments over who owns what. I think this Zid is some inspector leading investigations into the deaths and the big fraud from years ago.

Not sure about your former engineer Busai, but it seems strange he works at the port here with access to the ship all those years it was impounded and then gets involved in a shootout and kidnap attempt. Then his new wife gets arrested at your hotel earlier for murder. Who did she kill? The scientist? The Cavalheiros at the hotel? Did she try and kill her husband?

I know I am just a crewman with no allegiance to any faction except my crew. But the current trends for violence around the ship periphery might be a shadow hard to shake off.

The navy blasted a hole in the ship like she was a tin can and the dead scientist discovery opened up a new can of worms. The Captain is going to have to put a lid back on both of those before the Queen of the Belt flies anywhere."

Nālani smiles I thought you were not close. Zid is a woman. Quite senior now. I hope she remembers me fondly after all these years.

Jinja was, as you say, up to his ears in whatever this is. Archana Busai, I doubt she tried to kill anyone. Well, maybe her husband, once she learned he was involved in the crimes at the Queen. No. That is what I might do, not her. I think the police arrested her on general principal and to pressure her to give evidence against him.
