That was part of what led me to ask about Striker, it allows multiple hits without going going "panic fire". I like the "military action" feel of it.

From this, Jakob can assist Prerna and Erica easily. "Move Left" instead of "Move Right". If the large portal behind him is open, once Prerna and Erica are secure Jakob can turn and use the grenade launcher on the mass of insurgents down the corridor.

I can see the corridor with Jess via a camera by the dividing door.

I move to the door between the Hanger and the Garage

Computer: Lights off

Jess: You get a choice: Do I come to you with the aid kit, cover your garage flank or move to flank the bunch at the far end of the corridor via the garage?
As far as Jess is concerned Freya is basically a civilian, and an unarmed one at that. Bring the medkit, help Ink.

Of course, Freya knows there's a pirate carbine in Jess' buggy if she wants to arm herself en route.

Jess' actions depend on the amount of ammo she has, and where she can get more.

If she has more than one magazine or can readily get more she will expend ammunition putting down as many of the mob as possible. If ammo is tight then controlled bursts, with anyone who looks like they may have a grenade first priority.

Jess would see that Ink is armed with an issue ACR and would know that the sentries carry three mags for indoor duty.

All's a WIP :D but I'm trying to let folk have more tactical choices for this "up close and personal" fight. The PCs can do more "heroic/decisive" stuff than if they are (slightly) homogenised by Striker which operates at a slightly higher level of organisation (i.e. squad rather than individual).

I'm quite sure "Panic Fire" missed an edit somewhere and "Rapid Fire" (or anything sounding a bit more "controlled and deliberate") was what they meant. :) I wonder if it was a 'Nam term that meant something else and the translation has been lost??? FWIW I like it - more options for the player and no point in having a full mag on when you're about to go to your sidearm or melee weapon!

Please feedback if the temporary rule switch works in it's goal of increasing agency / allowing you to pull off more stuff. ;)

Jess has skill 2, Dex bonus +2 (the ACR's a honey of a rifle) and the autofire bonus is +2.

Time to rock n' roll!

So three rolls of 2d6 (net +4 for Jess) to put everything in the mag downrange.

If you hit 2d6 + 3 for HE (you also have one mag of "ball" Pen 4 and one of DS Pen 6)

Jess also has whatever mag she has on her own weapon - player choice. :D

Jess brought her own weapon with HE loaded ( so as not to shoot through walls, or through bad guys and hit friends behind them ) She has that in hand so she empties that and switches to Ink's weapon. ( BTW, wasn't Ink one of the female recruits? )

Are the three rolls inclusive of the one I already made or additional?

[2d6] = 11
[2d6] = 7
[2d6] = 7

[2d6] = 5+3 =8
[2d6] = 7 +3 =10
[2d6] = 9 +3 =12

Hopefully the small explosions will cause alarm and despondency. And minor wounds to those closest to the victims.

Frank decides that the group descending on them from the lift (east) are the more immediate issue, and there are no friendlies nearby to complicate matters. Using the corner of the corridor as partial cover he swings his gauss rifle up and empties the magazine at the invaders.

The "bulkhead" doors will be open so your sentries can see further / each other.

I could n't find it but I'm sure you pulled them back from standing on the outside doors to rove about in the corridors to cover more ground and focus on defending the VIP access doors.

I don't remember this change. We might have had Skips teams doing an active protection route.

It was a tweak/evolution I'm sure. They were acting as sentries in/at the lift doors but you pulled them back to conduct a moblie defence because it took fewer guys.

In fairness I have to add that it's probably worth letting me run with this delusion even if I'm wrong because the poor sods would have been overrun and turned into Pedigree Chum by now if they were behind the lift doors! :lol: :oops: :SAN:

Frank Round One

Frank unloads his gauss rifle into the attackers cutting the first charging figures down. As he drops his empty mag he hears Liv's gauss pistol sighing behind him as she curtly comments “Opfor have penetrated the VIP area. Engaging. Shit, I'm Winchester”.

Over the cacophany of battle Frank also notes the flat report of a shotgun is followed by Mr Solomon's accented tones “Also available in yer brushed steel and matt black ... if you didn't vid that properly I will break yer legs, alright?” Solomon pauses apparently changing his audience whilst working the action of the shotgun “You come in 'ere... wiv... a fekkin' sword??? Well, that's all on you mate, innit?” The shotgun fires again.

Freya
Freya moves into the hanger space. No sign of anyone in there yet. A quick trot sees her approaching the near garage door to the accomodation - she can see the casualty (she can't see who) through the open door. Checking the cameras again, she checks if the far door to the garage is open, and whether anyone is heading towards it, or through it. She can see the Falx men at the corridor junction near the door, Swords Vs auto-weapons means their charge has stalled, but the grenade option is clearly being prepared. And she checks the Barracks and Mess Hall for flankers.

Prerna, Erica and Jakob Round One

(OOC: Obviously the visual representation of this scene will include a number of incongruous yet strategically placed items in the foreground that will preserve the PC's modesty ;) ).

Jakob reaches the downed Skip and sees a frag in his belt kit. He takes in the tactical situation and primes and pitches in one smooth motion expertly allowing for the proximity of his comrades. The grenade detonates and Jakob sees blood spatter hit the roof and walls of the corridor while the three back rank falxmen drop shredded by shrapnel.

This leaves only one falxman immediately to his front. The man, wielding his falx in one hand and an auto pistol in the other, charges Jakob slashing at him. His blow hits and Jakob catches the cut across his right forearm and bicep as he tries to deflect/ride the blow. Jakob's right arm goes worryingly numb.

Meanwhile, Prerna backs away reloading pursued by another lone falxman. He flails at her and trips as she defeats his attack. He drops in a screaming heap.

The last remaining falxman swings at Erica. He slashes low at her legs as she steps into him attempting an arm entanglement. It seems she succeeds as Erica extends his sword arm in a lock. She then smashes her elbow down onto his extended arm using her full body weight. The man screams. He screams more when she puts a lock on the broken arm. The man faints and slumps to the floor covered in blood. Erica pitches forward and falls on top of him.

Voss now emerges from his room armed with a machine pistol (he's the yellow dot on map).

Note:
Jakob's opponent is the only active enemy left standing and is now positioned on the west side of Jakob.
Prerna is loaded.

(OOC:

Jakob

If they are close, Jakob will grab grenades and toss them behind the falxmen. (+1) Went with this!

She goes to her lover, and turns her enough to check if she's still conscious. All the while, she stays ready to meet more threats. She keys her comm dot to the all-hands channel.
