Side Chatter
Here is OOC thread.
Neil Gaiman: "I started imagining a world in which we replaced the phrase 'politically correct' wherever we could with 'treating other people with respect', and it made me smile."..."I know what you’re thinking now. You’re thinking 'Oh my god, that’s treating other people with respect gone mad!'"

Hey guys, still familiarising myself with the rules, but currently tending towards an android ghost with electronics skill. But I'm open to changing if we get conflict.

I'll eithe go corporate human or vampire witch, depending on how wacky the group is

Re: Side Chatter
What's the deal with androids?
Are they faceless autonotoms, with multiples of standard models in existence, or more individualistic?

Re: Side Chatter
If you want to play an android, I'll let you decide.

Re: Side Chatter
Cool, I was thinking of some kind of 'faceless' standard repair bot, who has officially been decommissioned after getting damaged but managed to escape and repair itself, so it's got a high anonymity, plus repair and electronics.
Re: Side Chatter
Ok, so here is my first attempt at my android
https://www.unseenservant.us/forum/view ... 75#p525475
I have one skill left, if I wanted him to be able to do melee fighting with things like a janitors broom, is that the combat or weapons skill? (or am I reading the rules poorly and its actually 'combat driving'?)
PS: I'm still happy to change my character to fit in as required

Re: Side Chatter
I also misread that as 'Combat' and 'Driving' instead of 'Combat driving'.
But the question still stands, as there's a Shooting skill in the pistol/rifle section that's not mentioned elsewhere. And what about unarmed combat?

Re: Side Chatter
Oh no the rules updates are never done ...
It should be "Brawling," "Combat driving," and "Shooting." I'll fix and update later today.

Re: Side Chatter
So brawling will include unarmed and melee combat. Cool!
Re: Side Chatter
Cool, thanks for the clarification.
So, what is cyber-tube, some kind of techo-electronic music? (yes, I'm a pretty mainstream musical fuddy-duddy)

Can you swap Cash for Gadget or other kit?...i.e. do you spend xC for a gadget (e.g. Corporate Attire).
I'd like to be (initially) a Social Worker teaching Electronics but that really requires Govt ID (Already taken) and Corp Attire (and probably Amulet and and Armour!)

Re: Side Chatter
Can I upgrade the same skill twice, e.g. by doubling up on Force as a Troll Brute?
Anyway, I'm thinking I definitely want to be a Netmage. As someone with access to spells, I have access to all of them, right, but am only particularly good at the ones I've upgraded?

Re: Side Chatter
Ok. Then I just noticed two things. As a netmage, I have access to every spell, including Glitch and Machine Speech, as well as a Neural interface, which gives me both at d6. Does this sound right?
What is behind the wording for Human's 'upgrade any two skills once'? Is this identical to 'upgrade any two different skills' or are you saying something about upgrade-stacking as per my previous question.

Re: Side Chatter
Yes, I think it's phrased that way so you upgrade two skills rather than the same skill twice. But I believe you can stack the upgrade at this stage with those done earlier in the creation process, so there is max skill dice of d10 at creation time.

Re: Side Chatter
In theory
- From Specialism --> d8
- From Race --> d10
- From Any Skill --> d12
Re: Side Chatter
True. I was sort or taking that the Fair Ones game, which uses the same basic rules, so perhaps that's not a limit in this game.
