The Fellowship Of The Silver Circle
Waterday, 3rd of Harvester
Early Morning, Warm, Humid, Buggy

After Maag's wild party and a nice long rest in Beachtown, the Fellowship heads up the loggers trail early Waterday morning.

Tlachtga and Alordan keep a lookout for any animal signs along the way, but they still seem very sparse this close to town. There are a few small animals and birds living in the very tops of the trees along the trail, but the druidess cant make out what they are from the ground. Alordan can tell that this area is still being overhunted by the many folks in town.

After walking the trail for an hour or two, the group starts to hear movement coming from up ahead. Then two men appear around a bend in the trail, walking towards them. They appear to be dragging something behind them, but they stop suddenly once they notice the group.

Tlachtga

"What do you have there? It looks like you had some luck. Did you by chance see any predators, wolves, bear, big cats or maybe something flying like an eagle by chance?"

Andronichishche

While Tlachtga parleys with the men, Andronichishche tries to get a read on what the two men are dragging.

Lerrick

The cleric remains safely with in the middle of the fellowship, listening intently to the conversation between Tlachtga and the stranger.

Cresty

The fighter, not able to see what's going on in the front of the group, stops and turns instinctively behind him to check to see if anyone or anything is behind them that might be a threat. Why did we stop? He takes out his blade just in case

Maag

Maag passes the time by chit-chatting with Cresty. "It's good to 'ave yer back, Cresty. I know dat we got off to a rocky start, but I reckon dat we can boulder better relationship...

When the two men appear, Maag tries to take cover at the side of the trail without being seen.

Alordan pauses and raises one hand in cautious greeting. He tries to get a better look at what the situation is up ahead.

Maag slips into the foliage at the edge of the trail as soon as he sees the oncoming men. They don't seem dangerous at all, but their expressions change once Cresty draws his blade. Before responding to Tlachtga, one shouts out. "Easy mister! We don't mean no one no harm!" The trail to the rear of the party remains clear.

As they get closer, the two men look dirty and tired, their rugged faces and any other exposed skin is covered in scrapes, cuts, and bug bites. They appear to be dragging the carcass of a huge wild boar behind them in a makeshift travois. One of them answers the druid. "We got lucky bagging this tasty monster, and thank Pelor we aint seen any big predators yet. We're trying hard to get this thing back to town before we do. This'll make a small feast fer quite a few of us."

The other man joins in on the conversation. "We aint seen no normal animals like wolf er bear er eagles, but we did find this beast ruttin around out in the jungle. Ya gotta go deeeep in though, and there still aint many things around ta eat. Good thing Hoff here is good at figuring out what areas hogs like moving through, er we woulda never found em."

"So, what are you all doin out here?"

Tlachtga

"Looking to see what is out here and perhaps do some hunting. I always feel better knowing if there are predators about and birds of all sorts will tell you many things about what is below them if you are willing to pay attention. Did you happen to see any ruins or structures? We would prefer to avoid those if we can."

Maag

Maag just tried to concentrate on the area around them. All these people and a dead boar are bound to attract something...

Lerrick

The cleric continues to list to the conversation between the druid and the two men

Cresty

The fighter lowers his sword in a non threatening way, then turns to Maag to speak but finds that the half-orc is no where to be seen. He shrugs his shoulders and continues to check behind the party to make sure nothing dead or alive surprises then.

Andronichishche

Andronichishche listens intently to the tale spun by the two men. He arches an eyebrow at the mention of Pelor. The ruined temple they must visit is by all accounts dedicated to the Flan god of the sun. He displays the heart shaped wooden holy symbol worn about his neck. "The peace of Rao be with you, gentlemen. I have heard rumor of a ruined temple north of the logger's trail. Do you know anything of it?"

Maag doesn't spot anything dangerous following the pair, thinking these men seem harmless enough. They nod respectfully to Tlachtga and Andron.

"Aye, the animals will tell you a great deal about your surroundings, if yer willing to watch em long enough. We still don't find a lot of things to hunt this close to town, but it seems like things are getting a little better without all those damn loggers around anymore."

"We did pass the temple ruins to the north of here yesterday. That place looked to be crawling with weird little creatures, so we didn't get real close. And then there's the 4 dwarf stones up ahead. You'll probably wanna avoid those as well, like we did. Unfriendly bastards."

One of the men fans the many bugs away from their boar carcass with a leafy branch. A small cloud of the flying pests flitter away for a moment, awaiting another chance to land again to eat and lay their eggs.

"Well, we need to get moving and you should as well if you want to keep that meat from spoiling." She steps off the trail to allow the hunters to pass, waving everyone back a few steps.

Lerrick

The cleric gives a respectful bow to each hunter as they pass.

Cresty

The fighter steps off the path to let them path. As they pass by he gives them a blessing. May Athena keep you safe in your travels.

<Lerrick> The cleric looks back at the fighter. Athena?

<Cresty> Yes...I now serve Athena. I will do Her will, performing valiant deeds in Her name...and perhaps one day gain Her favor. With that he takes his sword and thrust it up into the air and strikes his first pose since he was turned back to flesh.

<Lerrick> Oh...I wish you well on your noble ambitions. She gives the fighter an encouraging smile, but then sighs and looks away when he strikes the pose.

Andronichishche

Andronichishche steps off the trail, yielding to the two men and their quarry. After the hunters leave and the Fellowship takes to the trail again, Andron comments on what the men said. "Weird little creatures ... sounds like kobolds. Damn."

Alordan keeps his eyes on the man and nods as they pass. He takes note of their dress and any protection they seem to have against the insidious bugs that claim this jungle. After they pass, he asks "What dwarven stones does he mean? And why would stones be dangerous?" He pauses a minute and thinks back to the island and glances at Cresty and remembers that some stones at least can be dangerous...
