Good morning and Happy 2021 fellers!
"I was making rather merry last night" so I'm moving a bit slow today.
As we begin posting this weekend, I would call your attention to some of the tabs above. These are important for formatting and, unlike the dice roller, quite easy to use.
When your character is speaking, just highlight your words and click on the "dialog" tab and it will automatically be colored blue.
If you have something to add like an outside gaming question, something you want everyone to know about your character, etc, then you would use the "ooc" tab.
Bold, italics, underline, etc are all listed above too, as well as a color scheme found in the tab just before the text size drop down.
Another neat trick is to include a "spoiler" which could be something your character wants to say to another character or it could be just to hide a bunch of die rolls in the thread.
Here's an example of these features:
"Enter ye in at the Black Dragon Gate," says an old merchant with tattered robes.
The Outer City of
Baldur's Gate is not unlike a bunch of shanty towns all piled on top of one another. The smell is oppressive, the people are obviously poor, and the muddy lanes are packed with urchins, no doubt having a field day picking pockets for some "crew chief" they serve. You check your purse again, just to be sure, before pushing on through the rabble.
Hedge, if I feel someone try to grab something off my person, I will immediately draw steel!
Ahead is the famed gate with a stone dragon's head perched above it. There are guards, but since you have business in the city, perhaps they will let you pass...with a little mental nudging. As you approach, you mutter the words of a spell...
The spell works and you and your friends enter the city of Baldur's Gate.
Perception check: [1d20] = 5
Most players just use the dialog tab when having a conversation; others choose a particular color for their character's speech. You do whatever you wish. OOC is in
Red and dialog is in
Blue.
More to come...
