Joker
Sorry, folks! I totally forgot this! I plead temporary brain death

[5d6] = 14 ghost [1d6] = 5

Joker considers the possibilities involved with a potential energy-draining entitiy. He reluctantly borrows Mac's phone, to check the dedicated PKE- on the infinitesmal chance he did forget to charge his phone.

Investigation #5 turned job: The Haunting of 601 North E Street
Out front
September 10, 2018, 11:30 am
Comfortable and cloudy

Joker Considers what he can reason from the energy drain and the physics that could cause it, then considers the nature of the equipment. The traps, he knows, run on batteries. Powerful batteries, but batteries all the same. If there is something causing a drain on the phones, then it could drain the traps given time. The Proton packs, on the other hand, were miniaturized atomic reactors with power cells with have a half-life of 5,000 years. It would take an astronomical amount of counter energy to drain them.

In reasonable time, the rest of the team Sans Sam, show up at the front of the house with the equipment. There has been nothing else that has happened at the house since they came outside to wait on the guys to show up.

Julia passed in information on to Jason and Lionel that the investigation team found at the site so far, so everyone should be up to date.

Inventory:
Going to assume that Jason & Lionel would have grabbed pretty much everything.
Everyone suit-up and tell me what you are carrying.

Ecto: 6 Proton Packs, 1 PKE Analog, 1 PKE Extention for Phones, 1 Slime Blower, 6 Traps, 1 Sniffer, 2 Ecto Goggles - Modern, 1 Ecto Goggle - Analog.
Jason: Phone,
Lionel: Ecto Keys, Phone,
Roy: Phone,
Joker: Phone, PKE Extention,
Mac: Phone,

Actions?

Brownie Point Pool:
Dr. Jason O'Roarke: 214/214 @
Lionel 'Freight Train' Williams: 188/188
Roy O'Dowd: 157/157 @

Joker
Joker passes on his conclusions about the power situation. If we trap something, we need to get it back to containment fast. I should build an adapter, so that traps can be powered from the proton packs.... after.
Proton pack,
Analog PKE,
2 traps.
Modern Ecto goggles

Roy grabs a trap and proton pack as per his normal. If any more ecto goggles remain he grabs one.

Jason lets out a low whistle as Julia finishes, That aint the half of it, while we were talking to the Mayor he explicitly told us to skunk this job. So being now its my nature to figure out what this is... Any ideas? What you describe, it doesn't seem like ghosts or poltergeists, little cerebral for most of their games. I really don't want to be the "Sounds like demons" guy, but you know...sounds like demons. Especially in this town, He chuckles, Unless you saw anything else you think it might be, pocket dimension, or maybe some sort of hypnosis?

Roy scoffs "Witches bah what do you think this is the show Supernatural? Do you seen Dean and Sam Winchester anywhere? Demons? Well we better hope those two guys show up if that is the case. I'd wager poltergeist myself."

Joker
Wait, what? What does the Mayor want us to do on this job? Joker takes a second to figure out the slang Jason has used. He wants us to blow off the job? I wonder what he is up with?
Julia-Who filed the initial report of this place being haunted? And how long ago?

Jason looks at Joker, Yeah and I mean there wasn't any innuendo or tact, he said if we ignore this job our money woes will ease up...So I dont know. Did we do a historical review on this place yet? he looks around, Why do you think its witches, not that it couldn't be of course but just wondering what tipped you?

Lionel "Freight Train" Williams

Lionel straps on a proton pack and grabs a trap. Yeah, I tried to record him, but as soon as he saw my phone, the Mayor started denying everything. Definitely something shady going on.

Hey, if this is a witch, what do we do? Do we need to throw a bucket of water on her?

Joker
This isn't Oz. In Turkey, to kill a witch, you need a silver knife and a copy of the Holy Texts.

Julia! Could you check on the initial report- or complaint- or whatever? Who reported this place to us as being haunted?

The customer's name is Buck Hrumph. It is one of the first jobs we got after opening. He didn't give an idea of how long this has been going on, he just wanted us to certify that the house was clear. I don't think he believes there is a real haunting.

Other than Buck Hrumph, the property owner, apparently he is having trouble keeping tenants because they keep breaking lease and claiming the place is haunted.

Joker speculates developing a power adapter for the traps off the proton packs themselves but snaps himself out of the idea before it runs away from him.

Everyone is loaded up with equipment and the house, for its part, seems rather dormant. The clouds above are still swirling around and the breeze is picking up. The rain is still stopped for the moment but you wouldn't be surprised if it started again. The weather is certainly changing since you arrived last month.

Roy tells the others that were not present exactly what they experienced so far. "We got some readings already and I saw a pupilless cat in the carport. Then the guys were inside i was heading to get them and the door slammed shut something drained their phones immediately fortunately I didn't enter the house where they did so my phone i still charged."

Fair point, its been a rough week. Jason rummages around the gear and grabs a laptop. I'll see what the five minute dig can net me. He says as he begins plugging the addresses into the different databases.

I wasn't sure if Occult could apply here or not so i made two rolls, DMs choice cuz I see the straight brains roll has a Ghost.

Brains: [3d6] = 17 Ghost:[1d6] = 1 BP:[4d6] = 7

Occult: [6d6] = 26 Ghost:[1d6] = 5 BP:[4d6] = 20

Joker
Joker makes sure his gear is settled where it won't impede his movements. He turns on the Ecto-goggles and slowly studies the house from top to bottom. He calls out anything he sees in his survey.

Lionel "Freight Train" Williams

Lionel checks his phone real quick, sending a text to Jamie, We're at teh house, you coming by? This one might be a witch! Sounds like the guys' phones drained, so might not be able to message again. Hey, do you have a silver knife and a copy of the Holy Texts, by any chance? Might come in handy says Joker. Putting his phone back, he then readies the proton wand.
