Hunting Beavers
Moonday, 22nd of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Warm, Humid, Buggy

Seeing and hearing no dangers from inside the cabin, Andron appears to be truly alone out here in the jungle. All by himself, his friends are nowhere to be seen.

Alordan walks up and ends the poor animals suffering, he and Tlachtga quickly getting to the task of dressing out the 20 pounds or so of good red meat.

Lerrick and Gramble look around for trouble, while Maag looks for another animal to bag. None of them find what they seek.

Tlachtga

"If we are to do this again we need to get ourselves a large muslin cloth to wrap the meat in."

Once all butchered she divides the meat among everyone to carry.

Andronichishche

Andronichishche peers intently in the direction of the muddy river bank for several moments. His ears of elven heritage straining to detect any hint of animal noise such as he thought he heard. When nothing fruitful results from this exercise, he sighs to ease the tension and turns about to resume his seat at the table.

Before he takes a step, Andron strokes his chin thoughtfully and glances back at the open window. Having seen first hand how cunning the lacedon can be, he quickly closes the shutters and latches them securely. Pausing to murmur a brief prayer to Rao for the safe return of his companions, Andron settles into the chair once more and continues to wait.

Alordan finishes up his preparations and makes ready. He keeps a sharp eye on the water for any movement or possible attack from the undead things.

Taking the meat and the remains as well, the group starts back towards the trail and the shack.

They don't see any signs of ghouls or any other danger along the river. The first animal they shot remains right where it fell on the muddy bank.

The magic cabin is still set up where they left it, but Andron is nowhere to be seen.

Just as he is about to make himself comfortable again, the priest of Rao starts to hear something or someone approaching from outside the wooden abode.

Andronichishche

Just as his rump makes contact with the magical wooden chair, Andronichishche again hears a noise from outside the cabin. This time it's much more distinct and sounds as if someone or something is approaching. He cautiously approaches the window and carefully unlatches the shutters. Pulling the panel back so it's only slightly ajar, he peers outside ...

Not sure where the others are exactly, but if Andron sees them nearby approaching the cabin, he will proceed to open the door.

Lerrick

The cleric stops at Maag's mention of retrieving the tainted beaver. I will stay behind a few paces away while you and Gramble risk your lives again to retrieve a spoiled beaver. Be careful.

Hunting Capy's
Moonday, 22nd of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Warm, Humid, Buggy

Andron greets the others by opening the cabin door for them upon their return, glad to see it's them and not some mob of undead monsters.

After retrieving the first capybara from the river bank without incident, this animal is also cleaned and dressed along the side of the trail. It's meat shows no signs of being tainted by the ghoulish monsters, but all the same, Maag agrees to be the first to taste test it once they get it back to town.

There are no interruptions during the process and the jungle actually seems somewhat peaceful to the party for the first time since they have been out here. Perhaps the concept of having a sturdy structure to use in defense of its many inhabitants is giving this group a false sense of security?

Andronichishche

Andronichishche breathes a sigh of relief when he spies the rest of the group approaching the cabin - sans ghoul horde. He quickly opens the door and greets the hunters with their jungle beaver spoils. "Welcome back!" Andron then carefully looks them over for fresh injuries. "Appears the hunt was fruitful and nothing else attacked? That is welcome news, indeed!" He returns the table and chair to their magical storage in the floor of the cabin and rests his hand upon the closed door, pausing before uttering the command word to revert the structure back into a tiny cube. "I assume we are done here? I'd rather be far away from the river before dusk."

If it's agreed to leave, he will say the 'Dansden' command word and after the transformation will hand the cube back to Alordan.

Alordan thanks Andron. "Perhaps this fort would be a good defense against whatever made that furrow in the sand we crossed this morning? The townsfolk face danger there and here in collecting water..."

We can come back and deal with these ghouls when we are prepared, for now let's get this feast back to town and warn the villagers.

Andronichishche

Andronichishche assumes a studious expression as he considers Alordan's proposal. The wondrous cabin has a strong enchantment, yes, but does that same magic protect it? "I am not sure, honestly." He says in response. "From what I can determine with a non-magical inspection, the cabin is constructed of ordinary wood. The magic may not strengthen it to damage." He shrugs. "We also don't know if it's capable of self repair. For now, I would advise against using it as a defensive structure ... besides," Andron extends his arms wide to either side, "Those sand dunes look like they hide rather large tentacles!"
