Asides and Public Discussion about the game (Part 1)
Re: Asides and Public Discussion about the game (Part 1)
Might be interesting getting into the ship cause the code is changed and Pranit is in with forensics. And I know law enforcement detectives wont enter a scene until forensics is done unless its a immediate problem.

Re: Asides and Public Discussion about the game (Part 1)
Now lets see - how would a modern police force deal with a house where the armed owner and possible suspect barricades himself inside with what looks like a murder victim's body and several potential hostages some of whom are law enforcement officers? Or maybe it won't come to that and they can be persuaded to view this in a more positive light?
Re: Asides and Public Discussion about the game (Part 1)
Probably in the same way the police would act with the new landlords (in an open carry society), of a derelict tenement block accessing the site after four years to find the squatters have killed one of their own.
Re: Asides and Public Discussion about the game (Part 1)
Besides I think in the narration, Indrani left her pistol and clothes behind.
Re: Asides and Public Discussion about the game (Part 1)
Fair, but Pranit does not know about the dead body, and if he did he would tell the captain to allow full access to the ship for this.
Also, its different from a tenement, it is owned property with a rep of the owner on site that is not threatening anyone
They are going to spend alot of time in the bay with the leaf.
Police forensic is on site, we are not disallowing police on site.
Just blabbing.

Yep, Tiberius, or one of the other crew who's in the bay, has her stuff, including her weapon. However, the average starship's hull is equivalent to something like 30mm of armor plate. Good luck getting in.

I'm sure the police are aware of that and would take necessary measures - and the doors would be replaced later...anyway - it probably isn't going to come to that. You still seem to be talking.

Somehow we cope!

Re: Asides and Public Discussion about the game (Part 1)
I'm sorry, but all this crosstalk about people wandering all over the ship has caused me to lose the picture of what's going on.
The crew quarters are probably safe, so that's not a problem, especially with Pranit there to supervise.
The cargo bay is most assuredly not safe until we can check the doors.
The Engineering section isn't safe, and poor Reven had to be evacuated until he can get a better vacc suit.
Indrani is angry because she can't tell what's happening, and she's also trying desperately to make sure no one gets hurt over an old crime scene that isn't going anywhere for the next couple of hours.

Huh, some kit. eh?"
When it says emergency, it means Emergency. It's a plastic bag with an air-supply. It sits there for years and works once (if at all) while you scramble for safety. If you need a vacc suit for anything else, see their other products!

Having left the hotel as you deemed it unsafe a few hours ago you are coming back?Nālani escorts Noor/Sam back to the hotel, hands her off into Tiberius care
Better for Tiberius to come and meet in the cafe but I will leave that for Noor to decide.

Re: Asides and Public Discussion about the game (Part 1)
I thought the hotel was pretty safe. The place is surrounded by police investigating a murder. Lots of free security, and they aren't searching the hotel or questioning guests. It's Noor's room that's potentially unsafe - the police might try to find her for questioning there, not at Nālani's room.
But handing over to Tiberius at the restaurant works fine too.

Didn't anybody on the ship (old crew) know this? Jinja or even anyone from the navy? Four years open to space. The other bad news is the engineering section took a missile hit and wrecked some of the controls and one power system. It's open to space
Was this caused at the time of the seizure by the navy or before or after?

Jinja knew
It was at the time of the stop and search. It's cited in claim for which the Cr4,000,000 damages was awarded.

I was just composing a post on that very subjectby joertexas » Sun Nov 29, 2020 8:55 pm
Indrani forwards the list to their attorney to see if the Port can be held liable for these expenses.

Re: Asides and Public Discussion about the game (Part 1)
I don't know that the 4Mcr from the claim against the Navy will cover the damages to the engine room, or that it's even still available. In any event, the Port should be held liable for the additional damages, which seem to be about 1Mcr, plus whatever was in the armory, the ship's locker, and the ship's safe. The Bindoner wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 8:21 pmI was just composing a post on that very subjectby joertexas » Sun Nov 29, 2020 8:55 pm

Re: Asides and Public Discussion about the game (Part 1)
Absolutely. Navy and Port were legal custodians of the Queen with a duty of care. They are liable for any damage or loss incurred while the ship was in the dock.
