Sorry, I know I'm a bit late with the IC post. It's the end of the semester for me so I'm busier than usual.

Last chance to fine-tune the plans for the raid.
You will arrive with the dawn. The sun will be over the horizon if you continue your silent approach.

Re: OOC
I think we need folk to be up and about and in the market itself for our "smash and grab" plan to work.
There is no way we have the manpower for (or can afford the casualties from) houseclearing/FIBUA/FISH or CHIPS.
For the same reason we won't be chasing folk into caves or tunnel complexes!

Re: OOC
Annotated map posted, to facilitate detailed planning

Re: OOC
Firstly I understand from the GM that we can land the APC early and have it come in from the North (top) road.
Our intention is to raid the market and the plan has been kept deliberately basic
So the APC drives into town from the North (hopefully while everyone points and stares at the arrival of the Serpent from the South) and it and the warband encircle the market.
Significant locations: there is the road near Point 1 on the map and the other exit from the market about an inch north of it which I will call "The Gap".
If we can get units to both locations quickly enough we block the main escape routes towards the cavern and caves.
Once at "The Gap" the APC can use its watercannon and should be effective at hosing folk towards the landed Serpent. The warband will divide to each side of the market (east & west) to make a "scary cordon" so we should be able to contain folk within the market place.
We then loot them (and the goods there) silly.
If the town’s folk flee we might check out the warehouses for extra loot.
The plan is basic to match our troops.
So no whistles or bells, no bonus targets or stretch goals - the Lord’s house and shipping have been ignored.

Re: OOC
Just so I'm clear:
The Warband and Raven are boarding the APC, which will leave the ship before it reaches Skeaping and make a separate approach.
The APC holds 14 troops and 2 crew, there are 15 young warriors and Raven, this fills the vehicle.
Only Áshildr, Kar, Leon, Ridley and the slaves will remain aboard the Serpent, which is to sweep in from the SW around the coast.

Re: OOC
Having just reminded myself ...
Our APC is a grav version so can fly out from the Serpent on approach. Not sure if that was clear in the plan.
Please all feel free to add / alter and amend the plan!
If it all goes "far too well" we can then both "get ahead of ourselves" and "come over unnecessary".

Yes, coming in from the north. The Bindoner wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 9:04 pm Just so I'm clear:

Áshildr and any crew that can be spared will have a (combat) role in "corralling" the south side of the market. The Bindoner wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 9:04 pmOnly Áshildr, Kar, Leon, Ridley and the slaves will remain aboard the Serpent, which is to sweep in from the SW around the coast.

That was why I checked, to see if you were leaving any of the warband to fulfil that role.Áshildr and any crew that can be spared will have a (combat) role in "corralling" the south side of the market.
Kar can be off the Bridge. Probably everyone can be if you land, but it might be wisest if at least Ridley stays at the controls.
I wouldn't rely on the slaves for assistance in rounding up locals.
Marduk, being xenophobic, isn't usually a good place to seek asylum, but it is traditional to seal slaves in their work areas when the ship lands.

Re: OOC
One more question: is the APC moving to "The Gap" before the raiders debus, or are some/all getting out at the edge of town and forming a line of "beaters"?
Re: OOC
Raven plans to deploy the warband in two "wings" with the APC in the centre at "The Gap".
She will lead her wing (Raiders 1-6) east along the market's top edge and then sweep south
Sigmundr's wing (Raiders 7 - 11) will secure the exit near Point "1"
If the APC can drop Sigmundr's group in the (triangularish?) "courtyard" just west of the exit at "1" before deploying Raven at "The Gap" then all well and good.
As a further tweak (and assuming the maxim that nothing moves people better than frightened people) if we give ourselves a "run up" that might well help.
So Sigmundr gets dropped at the top point of the triangular courtyard and "beats" east into the market along the exit road near Point "1"
Raven and the APC drop at the Y junction just above "The Gap" and "beat" south into the market from there.

Re: OOC
Coming in over the ridge of rocks that surround the place, coming in from the coast to the south, approaching via the road to the north?
