Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
That is relatively straight-forward. Unplug the power cables and un-hook the hose from the shower-head. Being slightly taller would have helped though.
The station's doors shut at the touch of a keypad...The ships are trickier as there is no power. Hand crank anyone? Or aren't you going to bother as the station is now sealed?
The Forensics guy has videoed your every move.

Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
Indrani uses her power wrench to crank the outer airlock door closed on the ship as a safety measure. "Okay, let's go see about the lift shaft," she tells Pranit.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 4:12 pm That is relatively straight-forward. Pranit, Reven and Indrani carefully move down the pitch-black crew-room, lit by the holographer's lights, and arrive at the far end and the three unopened doors.

I wasn't aware that Reven came along. He's not using a regular vacc suit.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 4:36 pm Pranit, Reven and Indrani carefully move down the pitch-black crew-room, lit by the holographer's lights, and arrive at the far end and the three unopened doors.

Tiberius
Takes the power access key. He doesn't return straight away, staying to organise a fuel delivery for after the tanks are tested and flushed.
"The refurb might take a few days. I am going to need 24hr access to the bay so mechanics and engineers can come and go. Big jobs to refit parts."
He tries to get a couple more access cards or keys to the bay for designated operators. I am presuming water supply and drainage is also a simple switch on and appropriate pipes are attached, so he organises that turn on as well.
Going back to the ship he checks the power is connected and communicates that to folk inside.

Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
He turns the power on to what? Surely not to the ship, which is in an unknown condition with people working inside it on who-knows-what, and who are assuming that the power is still locked out. That's a really good way to kill people. Just saying...Stirling wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 4:50 pm Tiberius

yeah. I was going to ask that. At least before it is switched on. Post edited to reflect that.

The shouts of "No!" over the comms system persuade Tiberius that immediate reconnection of the services might not be the best option.
Reven looks a bit bemused as this colleagues suddenly look panicked.

Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
To explain - I'd be afraid that the ship would automatically cycle a pressure door closed when it sensed a pressure imbalance. That would very likely override the normal "don't close if something is in the door's path", like what happens on an elevator when you put your hand in the door to stop it. These doors would slam closed, and whatever is in the path is SOL.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 5:15 pm The shouts of "No!" over the comms system persuade Tiberius that immediate reconnection of the services might not be the best option.

My apologies, Stirling. I wasn't trying to be a jerk, but I was an aircraft mechanic at one time, and that scenario was one of my special nightmares.
Indrani keys her comm. "Tiberius, please lock the power switches in the "OFF" position, and lock the panel closed. There should be some safety tags with the panel to help with that. Hopefully, we can bring it up in a few minutes, but I'll let you know."

Confirms the direction with a typical "Aye Aye Capt'" and remains on standby chatting with the bubbled up Reven.

Noor
As they are starting to leave the room she asks a question.
"Arnwulf. You do security, right? Is it possible to track the location of someone who uses a data chip? Do I need an unnetworked terminal?"
Noor is holding a beautiful necklace made of what appears to be sapphire, something she just unwrapped.

Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
Pranit will let Indrani take the lead and support, but he will keep his boarding officer eye open for anything out of place or interesting.
Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
Indrani outlines her plan:
Indrani and Pranit will investigate, diagnose, and correct the pressure imbalance in the lift shaft. Then, she will go to Engineering and lock out all the power busses except for the emergency power bus. She will send Pranit to the bridge, where he will stand by to watch the bridge's emergency displays and controls. Once that's done, then she will ask Tiberius to energize the power umbilical from the station.

It is certainly possible, if it is activated. Inert it is likely safe, but access it and it may well be detectable. An air-bridged device in a Faraday cage would be my suggestion.Noor

Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
The Queen looked as though it would take several days to make spaceworthy. Assuming the Drives and Power Plant are in good order. I would not fly it in that state. It will take money too. The more money the quicker the job. I have none to spare though.
Trying out the name:"Sam"
I must ask you this Sam, and I am sorry if it is a difficult question, but why are you a hunted woman while your sister appears in public with perfect safety?
Nālani leaves the suit in the middle of the room, re-covers her automatic chef and bar, and activates a Holo-projector. It creates a convincing mouse that scurries along the edge of the room, disappears into a "hole", and reappears on the other side of the room. Hoshiko! The mouse is back!
Her exercise. Five minutes of mouse every hour, and five of bird. It will stop her running out of the room when we leave.
Now, Sam, your clothes.

Reven Stillpahth assists Indrani, as best he can in the bubble suit, in clearing the airlock.

Arnwulf
"Well Ma'am, I am more of an intervention guy than cyber security. I would imagine devices log locations and times through accessing the comms portals and networks. Encryption helps shield or delay but that his not my speciality.
You could always use someone else's device or phone. It will say 'Arnwulf woz here'. Could you create a hologram message? Or upload something Sabah Media can broadcast?"
He makes a few suggestions, not sure how valid they are though.
