Jess writes "Shall I call in Styx and Lethe to scan? Duran may be interesting to hear from too." on her notepad, tears out the page and passes it to Frank.

Frank nods and gestures for the pen, he writes:

yes, but we should be cautious in what we say. 4DC has links to Patch. I'd like Dubbs to scan first

Once the room is cleared, and conversations are flowing again, Jakob grinned. "If it wasn't impossible they would have sent for the Army. We can use the threat of extermination by externals as a unifying theme. Between Henker and I, we should have to two groups willing to talk to us. That's huge, and we'll win."

He shrugged. "They have special ops. Yeah, so. They aren't the big boogy man. Someone has been giving them intel and that's an issue. But we are a special operations unit. Lots of training to do, and lots of experience to build. But we're not about to concede second place."

If we could find the Water Bowser, would that help?

Dubs will have swept the room and declared it "clear".

Well I planted a transmitter on the bowser...If I activate it, it will ping and we can locate it...but so can they. So when we turn it on we better be nearby and ready to go.

Oh yes - and it will have recorded any conversation from passers by too. (and engine noise, chassis squeaks, clangs from tools, etc.)

If that is what they are doing, they aren't hoarding - they are purchasing loyalty. - Tomorrow's going to be ugly though. The guard have no means of distributing water - the Bowsers will turn up with their guards. It won't take long for the populace to forget the Baron. And if the Guard go to recapture the Bowsers they'll be walking into a trap. I reckon knowing where they go to refill gives us the upper hand as they can be hit at home not in the market.

"The workers will forget the Baron only as long as their stockpiled water lasts, which is probably days. Ensign, where does the Baron keep the main water stockpile? I see two threads here. Securing the water stockpile and ensuring the mansion water recycling systems are secure is the first. The second is trying to find out their plans and try to scupper them, and depending on whether or not they take the browsers back to their base to refill today will show us how useful the tracker might be"

The town is going to need about 6dTons of water per day (minimum). How much do these bowser hold? How efficient is their recycling?

10 litres of new water per day per person. 8000 people. 80,000litres/day==>80 tonnes ==> 6 dTons

All

Your best guesstimate is that the town has water for another three or four days from the captured bowsers (dependent on how full they were to start with and other varibales).

You are aware that the locals have very active and effective recycling measures in place.

Ooc: so 3 to 4 days, plus whatever they have stockpiled prior to this. We need watch the browsers, at some point they will either take a Bowser to the stockpile or bring water to the bowser. Or have I got this wrong?

The two are likely discrete entities. Liv and Jakob saw folk issued rations in individual containers and so the stockpile is likely stored in these "denominations".

They also saw that there was a "freelance" level of ration fraud going on too which may act as a partial buffer to the "civilian" water supply.

Howver, reduction in visible activity at the bowsers will surely indicate that this part of the supply has run out and the Town is in dire straits.

That looks like a 20-30,000 litre tanker... How many tanker runs do the Guard usually make per day?

n.b. Water use will be between 80 and 300L/day depending upon various factors. So their recycling is very good by current standards

The Guard make a dawn and dusk distribution run (but that doesn't include refilling the bowsers/tankers - hence the uncertain volume in each).

Recycling is efficient due to imported tech specifically high tech "desert suits" for those that have afforded them.

(OOC: I'll gradually move events on while dinner conversation plays out).

"So, where does the Baron's water supply come from?" Prerna wonders aloud.

I've forgotten what was said about that before...
