Blodgett looks down at the hard floor, then back up I need a piece of chalk or quill and parchment if I'm to draw a diagram. Anyone got these items?

Kayen Telva, the forgetful elven spellsword

Kayen suddenly gets this "light bulb exploding on his mind" expression and states.

"Quill? Parchment? I got those! Got some ink too..."

He fuddles around with his pack and after a bit produces the items for Blodgett.

Blodgett shifts back and forth as Kayen digs thru his pack. Once presented with paper, ink and quill, he quickly draws the area.

The man and his weasels are at the X, and the orcses are the dots along the ledge. The wavy lines represent the open sewer around the center platform.

Examining the diagram intently, Phanstern quickly launches even more questions. Are we then on the side with or without steps? Would the Orcs all be close enough to one another to be affected by a Sleep spell? How many archers do we have for long-range attack on those not affected? Should we try to put boots on that level before instigating aggression? It could be done, if Lul there were cooperative enough, and I took the form of another Orc. Perhaps valiant Blodgett would accompany us invisibly, so we might have a two-pronged attack?

"I'm pretty good with a bow," Freda replies. "Just tell me who you want me to target and I'll take them down."

We are on the right there, where the tunnel opens into the room. The stairs and door are opposite. Remember, the man and badgers are below the tunnel opening. There's a ladder leading down. Your other queries are better answered by the others... Oh, and I'm pretty good with my sling.

"Are they weasels? Or badgers? And are they regular-sized or abnormally large?" Freda asks.

"Abnormally large weasels", says Blodgett.

Kayen Telva, the forgetful elven spellsword

"Well, I can go down there and off the accountant before he knows what is happening. I can then use the table as a barrier against missiles. If any of the orcs cluster I can unleash a sleep spell on them...they might even get their spirits broken at seeing their superior put down, he, he..."

Kayen Telva, the forgetful elven spellsword

"Oh, I'd forgotten the weasels are right there...hmmm, wonder if they can smell me even if they can't see me."

He shrugs and waves his hands, "Bah, what it is they say about best laid plans and first contact with the enemy? Maybe we are over-thinking this and should just get down there swords swinging, arrows flying, invisible, slowing down our foes and trusting in the Gods?"

I believe I can put some of those weasels down, Phanstern offers thoughtfully with a raised eyebrow, And the Slow spell would provide additional support against the others. Still, would it be wise for anyone to go down there alone? Lul and I could present Kayen, or, He lowers his voice somewhat, perhaps one of our slaves, to the gentleman in question as an "Escapee." An invisible Thief would hardy be noticed even by weasels in such a scenario, all our foes would be within spell range, and we would have the advantage of attacking from dual points.

The Illusionist suddenly straightens up. Whatever the plan, we must all realize one important item: After our initial salvo of attack spells, we must become ruthless. The Sleep spell, my Color Spray, and even the Slow spell will leave our opponents completely or near helpless, but not for long. Are we ready to act quickly and abandon mercy?

Blodgett, still standing on the middle of all this, starts fidgeting, the looks at Phanstern: I'm ready!
He then looks at Eljay and says remember, they're abnormally large weasels, not rats.

Freda readies a magical arrow, then nods that she is ready.

She doesn't have much but her bow, though she is handy enough with it. She will target any orcs that are awake or otherwise able to fire their crossbows, counting on the others to put some to sleep and take care of the weasels and bookkeeper in close melee.

She assumes she will be dropping down the hole, firing at orcs as soon as she lands.

I see lots of interesting plans forming. :)
Remember the hole is only wide enough for one person at a time, and is about 10' up from the platform. There's a ladder going down too.
Please let me know if there are any more questions.

Updated maps here:
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=442&p=51822#p51822

The hole is at the red X. When he looked out the hole, Blodgett could see that it was 10' up from the platform where the dude with the weasels was sitting.

If you want, sleep them, then have a crazy readheaded female dwarf drop from above is a option. Might not be the best, but it would be fun.

"How about we approach - either singly or in a group - either way we will potentially alert them as most of us have no skill in the art of stealth. Then Sleep and Color Spray is unleashed on the orcs and Slow on the man and his pets. Just after or at the same time, the fighters go down and engage. Kayen can go invisible or not as he feels best."

You have no idea how much effort it was to misspell colour and resist changing it!!
