Lucky for you that Marodin was sour with the idea of paying to store his money at the bank, rather than earning interest on it, and decided to carry it all around with him. He will buy the First Aid Kits.
Cool. Well, thank goodness there's at least one member of the party that does not trust the Karameikan banking system LOL

I wonder if this would be a good place for us to have some statues made of our exploits for the purpose of XP reserves. Things are looking a bit more dangerous and if we want to keep playing after our death and not rely on the ressurection stone (who has that, BTW?) we should make some preparations.

Finglas, thank you for the extra money I needed to get the horsebags and saddle. I can bring my horse into the game now.

TK Could you please roll for HP for my horse please?

I am glad we are getting stocked up on first aid kits. I don't use magic and plan on getting banged up a bit.

Lanny I saw that you came up with a game plan, and fighting positions for the group before, and I was wondering if you could you let me know where I should stand to best play my fighter Innana.

I know most of you have been playing for a while and I don't want to step on any toes. If any of you have good input for fighting statagies that will make our group stronger, please inform me.

Lanny is building up most of his XP Reserve through donations to help improve local town guard units, but I personally think it would be kinda cool so see statues of "Saul the Intrepid Explorer" spread out across the entire continent. :)

Good point, Innana, we do need to revise the marching order and night watch on the Standards thread (both of them still show Grey Jake). I'll conjure up something for everyone's approval after work today.

Thanks for the loan, Finglas! :)

That is rather cool but not in Saul's vein.

Considering his current fortune I think a statue would be about a foot high so I'll save some money and maybe just throw a 2 day party instead if no one opposes.

A two day celebration is certainly worthy of reserve XP. How much does Saul/anyone else want to spend?

Oh, does your group have a name?

Marodin has been donating to the Church for his Reserve XP fund so he'll pass on the party.

Can't say no to a good party. Not sure how much I will need to have a few drinks and gample for an afternoon. Innana sucks at gambling, but likes it. I know, it sounds like a dangerous passtime. . .

I do want to spend some time riding Bliss on the outskirts of town. Would it be possible to get some information from interactions from people I meet and greet along the way?

If Suldawga would like, I can go with Semele to get outfitted in plate mail. I promise not to corrupt her.

I figure about 750GP should do the trick for a nice two day party if he could donate 250GP to the church in antecipation of any moral complaints for a total of 1000GP.

We really should get a name. We are starting to get known and we're doing some pretty badass things. Anything aliterative always appeals to me, something like The Threshold Threshers would be cool.

Donjon has a party name generator we could use for ideas. It also has a coat of arms we could use if we want a symbol later on.

750 gp would most definitely pay for a party for the entire village.

I will be posting IC either this evening or tomorrow morning, and will also spend some time this evening catching up with stuff OOC.

Cool, I'll post tomorrow to let the rest get their IC posts in and I'll inquire with the innkeeper about catering the party and finding a priest to celebrate something for the villagers.

Here are a proposed new marching order and night watch that include Innana. I also updated the combat formations on the Standards thread.

For the combat formations, I included Innana, Thordin, and Marodin as part of a new "front line", with the four elves providing melee/missile/spell support on the sides, with Drudsa and Semele protected behind the front line, and with Saul left to his own devices to sneak around and backstab or whatever else. Everything ultimately depends on the specifics of the situation, of course.

For the marching order, I added Innana as a rear guard, although per the combat formations she would typically (but not always) move to the front line at the start of combat:

Marching Order:

1) Thordin / Marodin
2) Bregalad / Tratiln
3) Lanny / Meagnor
4) Drudsa / Semele
5) Innana / Saul

For the night watch, I just kept it simple and exchanged Grey Jake with Innana:

Night Watch Schedule (2 people/shift):

1) Bregalad / Innana
2) Lanny / Saul
3) Meagnor / Marodin
4) Tratiln / Thordin

Feedback and suggestions are welcome!

@Elves and Drudsa:

Does anyone besides Lanny have ANY spell scribing supplies remaining? I checked the character sheets but did not see any. Lanny has 75 gp worth of supplies, which is enough to learn/scribe one first level spell. If no one else has any supplies, Lanny will offer his supplies to Meagnor, so that Meagnor can learn Analyze on behalf of the group and then begin to identify our magic items over the next couple of days while the rest of us improve our weapon skills.

Thoughts?

A party for the entire village is an awesome idea, and it will certainly make us well known in these parts! Lanny will leave the party planning/funding to Saul, who seems like he would know how to show everyone a good time! I must confess, though, that Lanny is not feeling ready to party just yet. He really wants to clear the tower first, and resolve its remaining mysteries, so that the villagers of Jessup will know that they are forever free of the tower's curse. He also wants to wipe out the kobolds that wiped out Innana's caravan. Then he will truely feel ready to party! ;)
thirdkingdom wrote:Oh, does your group have a name?
Ever since the party was first recognized by the Baron Halaran in Threshold, Lanny has been quite fond of the name "Aleena's Alliance". In fact, he even mentioned this name to the Threshold Town Guard after making a sizable donation to them the last time they departed from Threshold:
Lanny's final stop is at the western gate, where he asks to speak to the captain on duty.

"Sir... My adventuring company has had the good fortune of finding great wealth in our short time together. As an aspiring member of the Duke's Elvenguard, it is my passion, and indeed my duty, to support fellow guard units stationed throughout this great country of ours. Your men not only helped us to secure the prisoners we captured, but they also protect Threshold and keep it safe both day and night from invasion. They deserve the best armor and weapons that money can provide. Therefore, I would like to make a donation to the Threshold Town Guard in the amount of 500 gold pieces. Please use it to repair or replace their armor or weapons, and kindly give each man a small bonus. If anyone asks, please tell them it is a gift of thanks from 'Aleena's Alliance'. Farewell my friend..."
I like this name because it represents our very first adventure together, and also because the name itself will not expire, as our first adventure has grown to become part of our ongoing mission to bring Elwyn, Bargle, and the Great Evil Beyond Him to justice. However, I must say I also like the idea that we might be known by different names in different places. In Threshold we might be "Aleena's Alliance", but in Jessup (or in the elvish village of Tall Oak) we might be known by other names that reflect our heroic deeds and accomplishments in those places.

Thoughts?

Character sheet updated at last!

TK, can I get Drudsa's hp for level 4?

As for the next spell to be studied he will start studying Mirror Image. If Drudsa manages to learn it he will be able to write it at a later stage when he buys the inscribing components, right?

Frobozz is on a rampage! Good work, man!

You know what, I missed that bit. Aleena's Alliance at first doesn't gel with me. She died so in a way we failed but it could be something that we kept as a reminder of our failures and that we need to step up our efforts. The fact that we are still, for all intents and purposes dealing with that mission, as you said, doesn't hurt the justification.

And it is alliterative :D

I would suggest that was our main name but we also cultivated others in new lands so that in case our reputation is sullied it doesn't bit us later on.

Off to get this party started.

Drudsa's hp: (1d4=3)

Remember that scribing into your spellbook (for which you need the necessary materials) is the same as learning the spell. So, until the party gets more you guys are kind of stuck with what you have. Don't forget, however, that you were able to buy some from the hedge wizard living outside of Jessup: viewtopic.php?p=42233#p42233

It seems I missed writing that down. Drudsa spent 75 gp worth of materials for scribing Ventriloquism so now he only has enough to write another first level spell. Still, he'll keep studying Mirror Image and will see whether Lemarr has got any more material since his last visit.

But say that Drudsa has completed the minimum study time and you rolled under the target number on his chance to learn. If he doesn't have the materials with him, does that mean you will have to roll again once he buys the materials or just that his learning/scribing gets delayed?

Btw, anyone wants to use the 75 gp worth of materials to write a spell?
