The Obelisk
Meet The Slizards
Sunday, 21st of Goodmonth
Late Afternoon, Hot, Humid, Buggy
The splinter groups on either side of the clearing hide themselves in the brush when the orange lizard takes flight, but they dont see the monster again once it flies away. Treasure looks noticeably shaken after seeing the thing, but keeps his emotions in check for now.
The shaman encourages the other slizards to continue chanting, but eventually hops down from the rock, approaching the trio to see what Bonnie is attempting. He looks at the handprint and watches the pair go through their routine, but if he understands the meaning of it all, he doesn't show it. Looking at the print again, he nods his head before pointing to the plaque on the obelisk.

Luther stops to watch the action between Bonnie and the Scaly. Just don't bugger anything else up. he mutters to himself.

Wes
Wes watches as the shaman seems to give permission for Bonnie to touch the obilisk. "It looks like things are about to get very interesting over there. We might need to move fast." he tells the others.

Grimm, who has been carrying his crossbow until now, hangs it again from his belt and puts his hand on his sword hilt. Who's he gonna fire to when his companions are engaged in combat? He would risk wounding them. "Fine. I wait until there's need of us."
Re: Quest #29 “Raiders of the Lost Obelisk”
I want to thank everyone for the patience you've shown me. I'm still recuperating from surgery, and it's been difficult for me to get online. In the meantime, I've missed out on the opportunity for Avaala to say that he didn't think that Wes's plan concerning Avaala and Treasure would work because Treasure does not look like a pseudo-dragon, or even a reptile. He looks more like Watto from Star Wars episode 1. I'll take it from there.
Avaala the Grey
The Mage nods to his compatriots. "Then we should sit still. This is as close as we can get to them without either giving ourselves away, or risking losing the element of surprise by trying to move back to the trailhead. If they need us, we're close. If we need to enter the area peacefully, we can announce our presence so we don't appear to be sneaking around. Beat the bushes like we're further away before we enter."

"There is no spoon."

Cealwyn Blackthorn
The ranger remains stock still, though his eyes rove ceaselessly to gauge his surroundings and maintain an awareness of the slizards' disposition. He is at a loss as to how to further their goals at this point, preferring to hold himself in readiness for the moment if/when things go wrong with his two compatriots.

Bonnie
"Ok then." She smiles at the Shaman and turns to Chauncey. "Well, I guess this is a good sign. He didn't order my hand cut off at least."
Bonnie nods at Cealwyn and starts walking towards the obelisk and its platform rings. She stops just before stepping onto the platform and takes a deep breath. "Get ready. We'll know soon enough if I severely misunderstood."
She takes a step onto the platform and moves towards the placard. If nothing unusual happens, she'll continue on and examine the placard up close, and the obelisk as well.

The Obelisk
Meet The Slizards
Sunday, 21st of Goodmonth
Late Afternoon, Hot, Humid, Buggy
Bonnie moves towards the raised circle of stone that the obelisk stands upon while the others all watch with great interest.
The slizards watch her actions carefully as well, staring at her ominously, with their hoof-like hands moving to their weapons when she pauses.
As soon as she steps foot onto the platform, the slizards all stop their chanting and gasp in astonishment. Their shaman starts hissing at her frantically as the others pull out their primitive weapons, though the thief notices immediately that none of them look very comfortable once they are drawn. The closest to her raise them up as if they are about to attack, but none of them seems to want to be the first to take a swing.
Those hiding in the bushes see a few normal jungle birds fly up out of the thatch covered roof of the larger hut where the big orange flying lizard was just roosting.

Bonnie
She takes her foot off the platform and rolls her eyes. "What then?" She tries to communicate once more. She puts her foot back on the platform and nods vigorously. She then takes her foot off and shakes her head.
She points to the platform and nods. She points to the ground outside the platform and shakes her head.
Bonnie points to the Shaman's head and then to her own. She nods and then shakes her head. "Now you. Nod yes if I can go up there."

Wes points out the birds to Grimm and Avaala. *What do you think of that? Why are they roosting up there? I would have thought that the lizard would eat them or scare them off".

Luther watches the scene between Bonnie and the Scaly priest playing out, tense as a bowstring. He slowly readies his longbow.

The Obelisk
Something New To Do
Sunday, 21st of Goodmonth
Late Afternoon, Hot, Humid, Buggy
Bonnie starts to get frustrated with the confusing slizards, taking her foot off the stone ring and then replacing it again.
As soon as she touches it for the second time, the shaman gasps loudly and the chanting immediately stops. He shouts something loudly that sounds like "Bor-uss!" The rest of the slizards instantly take up this new chant as well, shouting out loudly over and over "Bor-uss! Bor-uss Bor-uss!!!"
A loud squeal comes from the direction of the large hut and before the group has a moment to react, a massive wild boar rushes out from inside the opening. The animal looks around for a moment before charging in the direction of the meddling elven thief. Chauncey looks around nervously, "oh dear" is all he can muster.
Paul looks at Luther as he draws his sword, ready to move in at the rangers command.

Bonnie
"Boring conversation anyway." She spots the boar and bolts for the placard at the obelisk. She hopes to be able to put the obelisk between her and the boar, playing keep-away. "I hope this stupid thing lights up or does something!"
If she can get to the placard, she'll smack her hand on the handprint.

Since Wes is off the map here, is he still in range to cast Hold Animal? (80')

Re: Quest #29 “Raiders of the Lost Obelisk”
This one will be a little tricky, as the animal is currently in range, but is moving away from Wes.
In the 30 seconds it takes him to cast the spell, he is pretty sure the boar will be a little too far away.

Luther takes a deep breath, holds it, and lets fly with his longbow.
Longbow [1d20+1] = 7+1 = 8
Dammit he mutters, knowing he missed as soon as he lets go of the bowstring.
