Marius:

"You need to see a shrink! Now get off me." says Marius as he cradles the crystal and shotgun under one arm while trying to reload as he spins around in a circle deflect Dr. Morgan's advances. "Doc, doc.," he says as the crystal slips from his grasp. "DOC! NO!"

Ignatius Skinner, BOI agent
Damage rolls:

Handgun damage [1d10] = 3
Handgun damage [1d10] = 4

No time to explain! Skinner says to the newly arrived agents. We've got hostiles in front, whatever that thing is up there, and our consultants are losing it. Someone grab that crystal thing, he says, indicating the trapezohedron that Frank and Marius are struggling with.

If there are more cultists approaching, Skinner fires at them. If not, he directs the new agents to look for Carcosa.

If needed:
Handgun (75) [1d100] = 93
Handgun (75) [1d100] = 57
How do we know you're not a donkey-brained man?

The creature undulating in the sky expands, a horrific hemisphere of thrashing blackness that seems sometimes tentacles and sometimes limbs and at other moments gaseous forms. It writhes downwards toward the ground, enveloping the now-snuffed-out bonfires and cultists. They disappear from view in the inky jet as a great sucking sound mingles with quick cries of pain, followed by silence.
Image
The monstrosity is fully emerged from the rip in the sky and its horrid malevolence is mind-bending (San. check: yes - 3d10, no 6d10) Such a thing cannot be! Its impossible shapes writhe and melt and warp in and out of consciousness. Could the men speak instead of scream in terror and incomprehension, they would say each of them saw something different yet equally disturbing. A soul-shuddering gibbering noise pierces the ears, a putrid stench penetrates the nose as men vomit, vertigo descends, the very air sparks and freezes! The being expands and blots out the stars. It sweeps the ground and the earth shakes, a shockwave that sweeps back and flattens the men.

Dr. Frank Morgan, wild-eyed and gibbering, clutches the trapezohedron crystal. It pulses with a sick white light, turning the Miskatonic professor's skin pallid. Frank whispers to it. The light steadies, expands around him. He looks up and around. The man's eyes are brightly aglow as tears of blood drip down his face! (San. check: yes - 1d2, no - 1d6) He is the only man standing from the shockwave, as if the crystal protected him.

Frank again has the otherworldly vision and peers about in search of Carcosa. He sees through the form of the being. All the cultists are dead. Amidst the swirling chaos Frank sees him, the dark man, enigmatic Ambrose Carcosa. He is blackness, pierced by Frank's vision to reveal his true form....

Image

For a moment Frank see's the Dark Pharaoh, he of the Freakshow and Carnivale...

Image

Then Frank knows its true form, and its true name - Nyarlathotep, the messenger, the preparer of the Way, the gate...

Image

(Frank San. check - yes - 1d6, no 3d6)

The investigators lie shaken, overwhelmed, as the horror expands over them. Frank screams as he clutches the crystal, its glow forming a sphere around the man. He blinks out, disappearing before the stunned investigators. Then all goes black as their bodies disintegrate, disassembling into another dimension, their reality at an end.

Arkham, Massachusetts
Miskatonic University Faculty Club

Miskatonic University professors Dr. Raymond Randolph and Dr. David Clarke sit on plush leather armchairs in the expansive lounge of the Faculty Club, discussing their upcoming trip to Mount Latmos in Turkey.

"I say, it should be quite a jaunt," Dr. Randoph states, pointing at a train map of Europe.

Dr. Clarke is about to respond when there is a sudden flash of light from the center of the room and a loud thud. The two professors jump up from their chairs and look back.

Lying on the floor is a disheveled, wild-eyed, filthy, bruised and shaggily bearded man that the professors recognize with shock: Dr. Frank Morgan, a colleague in the anthropology department!

Dr. Morgan screams in sheer terror.

He does not stop screaming.
