Chapter One - Into the Shadows
Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
With gears whirring 3of4 heaves the blade backwards and staggers back with a small druid landing on the floor with a squeak behind him.
His blade is free!
But silence reigns around you, no sound reaches your ears from around the corner or behind you....for the moment.

Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
Lothien chuckles to himself a little, stands up, and straightens the scimitar at his belt and the straps of the pack on his back. "Aawrak, do you think your flame spell could burn away the webs? We need to get through here, or else turn back and try another way through this place. Time is passing quickly."

"A simple torch or blade isn't going to work apparently. Does anyone have any magic to try? If not we must find another way around."

Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
It looks as though 3of4 did cut some web strands while he struggled to free his blade.
Although it does seem like the webbing is very difficult to cut

Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
Awwrak nods simply, and raises his arms. Chittering in his native tongue, he summons another gout of Holy Flame to destroy the extraplanar-tainted webbing.
Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
The divine flame engulfs the webbing. As the flames and smoke clears the webbing stands virtually untouched, although you do notice a lot of the sticky goo has melted into a puddle on the floor.

Awwrak makes a chittering noise, then tries again.
Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
The flame blasts down again and once the smoke clears about five feet of webbing hangs down singed and dangling in the slight draft.
As the noble Aarokocra studies the webbing that has been destroyed he hears the soft footsteps and hushed tones of something around the corner.

Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
Awwrak continues repeated flame application until it looks clear enough, or fragile enough, for 3of4 to handle.
"These are much tougher. We didn't have these problems with the webs earlier," he tells the others.

Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
Awwrak continues the burning of the webbing.
It's slow going but eventually the last few feet of webbing looks like it is ready to be torn down.

Sade
Sade covers the groups rear as Awwrak and 3of4 deal with the webs.

Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
"Nicely done, friend Awwrak." Lothien takes out his hunting/utility knife and, if there is space for him, assists 3of4 with cutting down the webs, while keeping an eye out for things coming around the corner.

Qelnaar will keep an eye out for any creatures as the others make their way through the webbing.
Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
As you cut through the last of the webbing you hear movement around the corner of the passageway ahead of you.
Sade strains to hear what sounds like more movement coming from the passage you just came down.

3of4 Presses forward past the cleared webbing with his shield held out before him. The glow of his red eyes focused on the corner as he nears and rounds on whatever might be lurking there, ready to strike at the first sign of an enemy combatant.

Light cantrip on Awwrak's holy symbol medallion, too
Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
Qelnaar also has the lit torch.
Re: Chapter One - Into the Shadows
Lothien has darkvision as well. Lothien sheathes his knife and draws a dart, ready to cast it at anything emerging into the hallway.
