FWIW I don't personally see that anyone particularly needs to! ;)
Jakob's original post assumed the Dips were forward of the unit, and the protestors were on the right. Edited his reactions. On the map, I think his team would be the bottom of the two units facing the storm. Beau would be the top of that rectangle, Jakob the bottom.

Its probably fair to comment that if you were a close protection officer the absolute last tool your principal would want you to be using to "shepherd them to safety" is a main battle tank.

If they were actually inside the tank well, OK - otherwise surely a bit scary!!!

Its only a few letters but in this case I believe the difference between the verb to shepherd and to herd is significant!

I assume we have combat load? 'Cos it'd be embarrassing to have parade-order in a situation like this...

If we have live ammo Jess orders her team to load HE, in case we need to make a very obvious "do not cross" line in the sand between the mob and the boats.

Wish I'd thought of snub weapons with Tranq. Next time.

Yes you are "on the way to work" so have a full combat load out. :)

Prerna instructed the drone to loiter over the bunker entrance a hundred meters up, in a fifty-meter circle, random turns.

"Let's go check the delegates for injuries, and get them under cover," she instructs her team. "Command, Recon. We're moving the delegation underground."
Joe Roberts
I was hoping you'd keep your drone above those spotters, maybe zero in a sniper to suppress them ( scare, not injure ) if they try to run away?

The drone was never over the spotters - Prerna had it fly straight up, and then start circling to present a harder target to shoot down.

Fair enough, overhead isn't important, overlooking is. All we need is to see them, what they do, and where they go.

To save any confusion I'll declare that the drone is currently over the parade.

"D" which used to be Diplomats now stands for Drone on the map.

Two for one map use! :)

It is a basic and fairly fragile drone but can conduct overwatch of the suspected "spotters" from that position (whilst performing basic manoeuvres to avoid presenting a "sitting target").

For the record, I and Jakob are very happy with the squad. In one sense, being the "action hero" is nice; shoot the bad guy, defuse the bomb, or whatever. On the other hand, knowing that you've trained people well is a win all its own. :)

We never did settle on how many we have. I was thinking that Prerna and her team would have six total among them.

OK I would reckon that means you would carry three(?) ready to go (requiring quick assembly from a kit bag/backpack) and have three in reserve at HQ.

They are basic, no ECM, whistles or bells but very functional (and fly in thin atmosphere).

Prerna's model will allow her to perform Recon rolls with its line of sight - its basic and requires all its functionality to fly in Inchin's (type 2) thin atmosphere.

It will take a minute to unpack and rig for flight - snap on the eight rotors and extend the landing legs.

Four blades in two contra-rotating rotors, and no landing legs - it lands by descending to a few inches above the ground, and then shutting the rotors down. The blades fold back for storage, so all the operator does is extend them into flight position, where they lock in place with a spring loaded detent. It's a simple rigid rotor system with no rotor hinges, so it's pretty durable.

Please state any provisions you are making for the security of your area / those areas both outside and beyond it.

Also state of prep and readiness within barracks. Obviously if everyone is fully armed and armoured all the time then the troops will get less benefit from any opportunities to train and also to rest and recuperate.

NB A permanent security detail will deplete any force available for external patrol or missions.

No need to get ourselves bogged down in overmuch detail but for instance minimum coverage posts a sentry at the "choke point" doors into the main accomodation geomorphs.

That's one at each of the eastern lift/stair combos and one guy posted in each "hanger" to cover the two doors.

During night shift (or anticipated times of reduced traffic) you can lock any of the Red doors from your side.

I'm happy to run with the above as a default posture in light of the current low level threat and external security provision from the Baronial Guard.

So we don't have access to the diplomatic team we are meant to be protecting, I'm not sure Frank is happy with that. Do we at least have comms with them?

Of the top of my head how about we have pairs of guards at those listed pinch-points and keep 1 squad battle ready at all times?

Not that we could get to the diplomats to help them if there was a problem.
