Ewell laughs. I know what he told you. But I was hoping the answer was something a bit more agreeable, once he saw he was speaking to such a noble and worthy customer.

Having limited funds, Kaltar is happy to keep an eye out in the immediate vicinity for anything untoward while the others shop.

Suddenly becoming serious, Gwillt turns to the shop keeper and asks, "Are you folks doing OK? Is there anything we can do to help you when we get back? We're going to try and track down those trogs and do away with them once and for all..."

"I need three arrows.....and I dont want them funny ones. Straight and true. Straight...est and true...est. Anybody else wanna go in on some arrows? Gwilt? Maybe we can set up some animal traps along the trog's route too. Do you have any of those?"
Just before turning away from the counter, after replenishing his arrows, the halfling asks, "I bet you and the missus don't frequent the Levitt temple, do ya."

OOC: you should have plenty of arrows from what the recently departed Alordan had in his possession, Ston. No need to buy any more, I should think...

Hadn't thought about that. When the group divided the fallen's gear, Shannigans was still knocked out. Perhaps Gwilt gave the halfling the three additional outside while the group was in the Dragon. Well, good, dont wanna spend any more than I gotta.

Having limited funds, Kaltar is happy to keep an eye out in the immediate vicinity for anything untoward while the others shop.

While the cleric stands guard, Fimmion does not waste any time and makes his way to what is left of the main counter and starts to list the things he would like to purchase: "Good sir, would you by chance have an iron pot that can be used for cooking? Something preferably light enough to carry on my back. I would also like to purchase a set of bowls and eating utensils
as well as a ladle and stirring spoon. Flint and Steel will be the last item on my list, all in a large sack if possible."
"Easy there, son." Harold starts. "One thing at a time." He waves one of his sons over to help locate and produce the desired items. "An iron pot, you say?" he repeats, scanning his inventory. "I'm sure I can help you out there," he says, waiving his son off to fetch the item. "What was next?" he asks. The chef and Harold go over the list of desired items and, as the items are all items he typically stocks, all are available. He efforts through the task of calculating the price of all the items. "That'll be eight coins; four of gold and four of silver." he says. (Please add all items to your character sheet. Except for the iron pot, all the items requested will fall under the 'Adventuring Gear' category when it comes to encumbrance. The pot, given its shape and size, will add 5 pounds.)

Ewell asks, for himself this time, "Good man, might you be so grand as to count upon your inventory, one sturdy and strong pole with which I might repair my lance? And if not, might you know where I should find someone able to construct one?" Before Harold has a chance to respond, Gwillt shakes his head and mutters, "I already told you
the man didn't have no pole for ya, kid!"
He catches the store keeper's attention and rolls his eyes while giving his head a little shake. Ewell laughs. "I know what he told you. But I was hoping the answer was something a bit more agreeable once he saw he was speaking to such a noble and worthy customer." Harold laughs enthusiastically; so much so that you suspect it's the first time in a long time that the man has done so. "I wish I could help you, son," he starts. "I really do. I still don't have what you're looking for." He pauses for a moment before finishing with this observation: "I suspect you'll have a difficult time findin' one of those. This town be made of wood, you see, and lot's of it will be needed to repair the damage done. I'm thinkin' it might be tough to find someone with extra."

Grim laughs. "Mayhap da Gardner at da temple mighta sold ya his rake pole!" He slaps his own thigh and laughs again. "Dat be a gut weapon fer such a noble and worthy customer!" After settling down he pulls his purse out and jingles the coins within. "Fresh bandaged fer me. Or clean cloth strips if not. Got any dried meat er maybe pickled fishes?" Harold scratches his head. "Pickled fish. Pickled fish." he repeats. "Sorry, son, ain't have any of those, but I can help you with some cloth bandages and dried meats." Harold sends his son off once again to retrieve the items as he calculates the cost. (The bandages will be 5 silver, and the cost for the dried meat will be 3 gold pieces per day (encumbrance: 1 pound per day); just let me know how much you want and update your character sheet accordingly.)

While the son is off fetching his dried meat, the barbarian offers "Maybe yous wantin ta buy a Lizzie spear? Hang it'oer yer door 'n tell folks how yous killed you a scaly demon?" "Please, put that away." Harold urges. "That'll be no trophy for my wife, but a constant reminder of the pain."

---

Suddenly becoming serious, Gwillt turns to the shop keeper and asks, "Are you folks doing OK? Is there anything we can do to help you when we get back? We're going to try and track down those trogs and do away with them once and for all..." Harold assures the ranger he and his family will be fine. "We very much would appreciate you clearing those foul creatures out. This is the first time they've hit us, but they've been an increasingly annoying problem of late." he says.

While not ordering anything, Shannigans asks: "I bet you and the missus don't frequent the Levitt temple, do ya." Harold shakes his head negatively. "Not no more. It isn't safe like it used to be." he says, shaking his head disappointedly.

Gwillt raises an eyebrow at Harold's last sentence, "What do you mean? What has changed? We stopped by there and the woman who met us in the courtyard was... less than pleasant."

Peaking his interest Epsilon steps foward.

My good sir could you please elaborate? As a holy man myself I would be obliged to make note of any unsavory misdomenors perpitrated by another. Even if they are not of the same faith.

if the shrine is unsfe or unsavory as the case may be for the townspeople perhaps a new shrine is in order.

After paying for his goods, Fimmion takes the items outside and starts to rearrange them so that they all fit neatly in this large sack and backpack, all the while checking the condition of the items. A smile spreads across his face and he remarks to himself: "good good, this should last us for quite a while."

Turning around to face the rest of the group, Fimmion mentions that he is ready to travel with them, to where ever it is that they choose to go. With a large cooking pot strapped to his backpack, he looks even more so like a traveling cook now, if it wasn't obvious beforehand!

Boy am I going to have some fun with this character :)

Harold, realizing his words seemed to have piqued the interest of the group, responds to their questions: "I really don't know nothing," he says. "Other than that people 'round here been acting strange for awhile now, and many of 'em seem to congregate there. Strange things, I tell ya', but nothing I can put my finger on."

Gwillt smooths his goatee while he thinks...

"What was the first thing you noticed about people going all weird, can you remember? Or who was the first person you remember acting different from their normal self?"

Gwillt smooths his goatee while he thinks and eventually asks: "What was the first thing you noticed about people going all weird, can you remember? Or who was the first person you remember acting different from their normal self?" Harold considers this for a moment. "The first person I noticed myself was probably Gustov, over at the Bronze Goat. Well -" he considers. "Maybe not Gustov so much, but the company he kept. Lotsa strange folks started staying there. The Goat was first, then the temple. I'm sure there were other "meeting places," but those are the two places I know most normal folks started to avoid."

"You know, if it's information you seek, Ormond might know more, being the Mayor and all; and Han almost certainly will -- though some will say Han has lost his mind -- oh, and Ferrell. She might, too." he offers. "Mind you, I ain't seen any of 'em since the attacks."

"Yea, the mayor. A splendid idea." The halfling points his finger at the shopkeeper and then touches his nose with his other hand's index finger (the 'on the nose' gesture). He turns to leave, stops and again asks, "...and he can be found, where?"

When the others emerge, Kaltar is sure to get a full update on what they discovered.
"So - did they give any insight into what is going on here?"
