Re: 11. Return to O'Hare
Isn't Levitt another name for SEMUANYA, the god of lizard Folk?

Re: 11. Return to O'Hare
Knowing when someone doesn't want him or his services, Fimmion took the woman's hint and didn't push on the subject. He remains silent and looks around the place. Beautiful to be sure, but then he thinks to himself: "A delicious smell does not always mean a delicious meal. The ladle used to concoct this stew must still be burnt, and thrown away somewhere nearby..."
Fimmion then slips away from the group and heads back to the entrance of the temple, towards the previously encountered gardner. If he does enounter him still at work, he will casually ask him how many years of service he has provided to this establishment, whether he worked for only one client or previous ones as well.

Good day to you my lady. This Levitt is a lucky one, to have such a lovely servant as you. I hope we do not intrude with our questions. We want to help the followers and non alike, you see. After all, if they survive, it does give you more time to convert them.

Re: 11. Return to O'Hare
Levitt is really only revered locally and, while it's possible one of the party clerics may have heard the name at some point in their pre-adventuring studies or travels, none will have any useful information.Alethan wrote:OOC: dmw71, what part of the town did you say received the most damage? Also, what kind of general knowledge does Gwillt (or anyone else, for that matter) have about Levitt?
As for the damage to the town, I don't know if I did specifically say? However, from what you've seen, it appears to be the heaviest to the south (the direction from which they arrived).

Interesting. I wasn't familiar with that name before, but I'm glad to know it now.tooleychris wrote:Isn't Levitt another name for SEMUANYA, the god of lizard Folk?

Questioning the Priestess
Accepting that any useful information coming from the priestess will be most unlikely, Epsilon casually positions himself next to Strom and whispers: "Perhaps you can discern the motive of our closeted host, young holy warrior?" The knight nods in understanding and, after a brief moment of concentration, slowly shakes his head in the negative.
To the surprise of few, Ewell looks to prolong the company of this cold, enchanting beauty. "Good day to you my lady. This Levitt is a lucky one, to have such a lovely servant as you." The priestess flashes an exaggerated smile before falling more serious once again. "I hope we do not intrude with our questions, we want to help the followers and non alike, you see. After all, if they survive, it does give you more time to convert them." he finishes in a charming manner; an effort which seemingly falls on deaf ears as she dismisses the kids efforts with a wave of her hand. "The non-believers will come to us; not the other way around." she says confidently.
"What is our purpose?" Gwillt half mumbles, mostly to himself than to anyone else. "I suppose you could consider us the benefactors of the non-believers..." The ranger stares incredulously as the woman walks away from the conversation, but asks one final question before the priestess disappears: "Just one more question, before you leave, if you don't mind... where have all of the believers gone to now?" The priestess stops and turns. "Many of them are still here, you see," she starts, "as we provide sanctuary for our members. Others have left. With our blessing, of course. While they will always be welcome here, we care not their new destinations."
With that, the priestess disappears through the door from which she originally made her entrance.
---
While the rest of the party continues the exchange with the priestess, Fimmion slips away from the group and heads back to the entrance of the temple. He looks for and spots the gardner, who's still hard at work tending to the property. "How many years of service have you provided to this establishment?" the chef asks. "Have you always worked for the same person, or have their been many?" The advances of the chef are not warmly welcomed, but the gardner does admit to having worked here for several years, and all under the same order of priests and priestesses. "I have much work to do," he says, taking leave of the chef and resuming his hard labor.

Shannigans quickly steps to the closed door that the priestess went through. He checks for traps, starting with any obvious words or symbols, mindful of wards and eventually for any locks.
Re: 11. Return to O'Hare
"Thank you sir for your time, and a few gold pieces for the trouble." After finishing his quick conversation with the grumpy gardner, handing him 3 gold pieces, Fimmion makes his way back to the group and states that the priests and priestesses currently inhabiting this temple have been here for several years now, even before the strange behaviour with the townsfolk started to take shape.

Re: 11. Return to O'Hare
trogs makes sense - definately want to continue to stick together as group to. Use our ranger or thief for scouting?
Re: 11. Return to O'Hare
Ewell listens to the conversations, and speaks after the priestess has adjourned.
While I think I have made great progress with the priestess, and could have her wrapped around my finger in no time... maybe time would be better spent elsewhere. Shall we walk south, and through the ashes back toward the Goat? Lets see if their attitudes have changed. Afterward, I think we must root out the trogs before chasing goblins.

(actually laughed aloud at "...could have her wrapped around my finger in no time... ")
Re: 11. Return to O'Hare
Either go after the trogs, or search the remainder of the village and try to find out what is the root of the strangness of the people here at the temple and the actions at the goat.

"There is a general store just across the street from The Goat, Grim; you might be able to find your bandages there. I'm sure you can get all the wine you need from the Dragon Inn, though..."
Gwillt agrees with checking on the inhabitants of the Goat before tracking down the trogs.

Exiting the Temple
"Thank you, sir, for your time, and a few gold pieces for the trouble." Fimmion says, concluding his business outside the temple. (Please update your character sheet to reflect the spent coins, if you haven't done so already.) Having finished his quick conversation with the grumpy gardner, the chef returns to the rest of the group inside the temple. "The priests and priestesses currently inhabiting this temple have been here for several years now, even before the strange behaviour with the townsfolk started to take shape." he shares.

"While I think I have made great progress with the priestess, and could have her wrapped around my finger in no time... maybe time would be better spent elsewhere." Ewell states. "Shall we walk south, and through the ashes back toward the Goat?" he suggests. "Lets see if their attitudes have changed."
"Either go after the trogs, or search the remainder of the village and try to find out what is the root of the strangeness." suggests Epsilon.
Shannigans quickly steps to the closed door that the priestess went through and inspects the areas of the door he can physically reach. No sign of any traps or other protections aside from a simple lock, which is not in its locked position. After his inspection of the door, Shannigans agrees with Ewell, "That's a great idea. They seem to be alright, at least in some sense, for now."

Gwilt offers. "I'm all for hunting down the trogs, but let's make a quick stop at the general store, see what condition it's in, then pay a visit to our friends at The Goat first." the ranger suggests.

Leaving the Temple (cont'd)
Disappointed with the outcome of their visit to the temple, the group decides to revisit 'The Goat' after a brief stop at the general store. Gwilt, having been there before, leads the group.
Heading south after leaving the temple, the party begins to see first-hand the extent of the damage. The smell of burnt timber still lingers the further south the party moves. The group passes several unknown structures, none exhibiting any sign of activity, before their destination comes into view - the 'Reap & Seed' general store. The building, sadly, had suffered serious damage. So much so that it takes Gwilt, whom had only been there once before, and then from a different direction, a moment to convince himself he's led them to the right place.
Voices are heard within, and Gwilt recognizes one of them, the most vocal of all those heard, as being Harold, the proprietor. He, his wife, and his two sons are actively working to repair their shop. Understandably in a foul mood, Harold, needing the funds, does see to the teams requests for supplies, selling them what he has available.
(I will need a list of desired items and I can provide you worn availability and cost information.)
I will move everyone to 'The Goat' after you conclude your business at the store.

Re: 11. Return to O'Hare
Fimmion does not waste any time and makes his way to what is left of the main counter and starts to list the things he would like to purchase:
"Good sir, would you by chance have an iron pot that can be used for cooking? Something preferrably light enough to carry on my back. I would also like to purchase a set of bowls and eating utensils as well as a ladle and stirring spoon. Flint and Steel will be the last item on my list, all in a large sack if possible."
Looking around the store, Fimmion knows that he indeed might not be able to purchase everything that he wanted; the fire damage was very extensive.

Ewell asks, for himself this time, "Good man, might you be so grand as to count upon your inventory, one sturdy and strong pole with which I might repair my lance? And if not, might you know where I should find someone able to construct one?
