Agreed. I hadn't assigned him as a corporal, I put Route One in that slot. I'd left Beau out as a odd-shaped piece - a leader, but not bright enough to lead undirected. Make him a sergeant with a fast-track?

When we expand and need to take on more comms guys and HMG guys I can see Dubbs and Caxton getting promoted up to oversee the specialist units under them, so Beau should have similar opportunities.

CSM is a position, not a rank. Command Sergeant Major is still an E-9 but has an organizational responsibility above other E-9s.

The flip side is that we can mix CT and CE. Each time we get a promotion, we get a skill, right?

A little later Jess returns driving an old civilian tour bus, with her bike stowed among the ammunition and other stores in the back. Trailing along behind is Erica, flying a well-ventilated Ambulance.

Watcha think of the shopping trolleys? One of 'ems got a wonky wheel, sure, but we can fix that.

Grinning hugely Jess shows the "new" vehicles off., explaining they are just rear-echelon. No armour. Look, lots of the holes in the blood-wagon are small-arms. We're going to have to put in some shifts working on that thing in Jump to get it properly air-worthy too.

We ought to at least give them the once over before we go in case we need spare parts. Frank can look at the gravitics and we've multiple persons with the mechanics skill.

If we could get them done before we go it would make a better impression on the client, but if not we'll make do.

Your in helm comms have a "Power" rating which equals range in km (I may have written it as P# or #km). In the event of an opposed situation (e.g. jamming the highest power wins). Laser comms are obviously line of sight and less "jammable".

You (PCs) are in possession of state of the art comms and jamming gear operated by Dubs.

Clarification on the Mission: The Collace ("Foreign Ministry") is sending a diplomatic mission to Inchin. Your client is the Minister heading up that mission.

So the mission is "to" the local "warlord".

I'm assuming the ranks in book 4 are based on the US system. There does seem to be more Sargent based options

Happy to go with Book 4 ranks ( which are totally based on US ranks )- I was using the UK naming because I know it, and it underlines that Jess served in a local Subsector Army rather than Imperial Forces.

UK NCO ranks are less obviously varied. "Staff" Sergeants and Sergeant-Majors contain several different roles.

Using Book 4 is easiest.
