Re: Ask the GM
So I've never played Traveler before. What version of the rules are we using? I can get the PDF and make something.
Also what is everyone else thinking about making?

Re: Ask the GM
The rules are Mongoose Traveller version 1.
I'm using a homebrew career for characters. Everyone is a native or captive of Oghma at the beginning of the game ( unless they give me a really, really good reason why they are fighting in an Oghman Warband... ).
The players will crew a raiding ship, so both ship-skills and combat skills are needed. We have two ship-orientated characters so far, porting in from "another place". Gunners, Engineers, and Raiders would be useful, but the group should be looking to operate several ships as the game progresses, so if everyone wants to be a pilot, well start pirating
The PDF is here: viewtopic.php?f=978&t=10157
To learn how to create a Traveller character you can use this link ( it is MgT2, but the process is much the same ) https://munsondevelopment.com/Default

No, but...
Full Oghma? Never.
If you don't mind being a slave, sure.
Perhaps a slave who becomes a mascot, maybe even an honorary Raider.
But on Oghma a Vargr would never really be a full person
Move the discussion to the private thread, we'll work something out.

Ah, yes. They updated the roller and everyone had to use the "lost password" protocol.
The roller is separate from the forum, it has a different log-in. If everything else fails set up a new account. Campaign 855.

Going through the same Byzantine rigmarole again!
Can't create a new account because the email is linked to the old one with no password...
Ta Da! The catch 22 is complete!
The admins did helpfully fix this but here we are again...

Coming toward the end of a sudden flurry of commissions, temperatures back to normal, should get an hour to myself and the ability to concentrate on finishing a text soon. Before the guests start arriving...

First part posted, Raven tomorrow. It seemed better to post in sections than wait until the whole thing was ready.

Re: Ask the GM
Hi guys. My apologies for absence. Actually it is a good time to withdraw personally as my time is taken with other non-gaming priorities.
I did enjoy reading through your game and commend both Bindoner and players in providing a very deep and rich environment to build and play a Traveller character. I know I expressed some thoughts earlier and I had hoped my involvement could continue, especially given the actions towards raiding other ships.
However, a lot of my work is in a prison (HMP Ranby near Retford, Notts), which due to some issues, mostly prisoner conflict and inmates running amok, (setting fire to a workshop and damaging the FLT battery store. One prisoner tipped acid out to use upon another over a drug debt), it has taken up a lot of my free time and I already struggle to really invest in my characters in any of the games I play.
I posted this in your LfP's post.
I am going to transfer my character sheet over, so that a new player of Traveller has a ready made character if you don't fancy rolling up a newbie.
The game itself: Oghma is well described and the players do invest a lot of time and narrative into each character. It is building up to a raid encounter so someone stepping in can join in the action fairly quickly. If you want to play as Vikings in Space then this is for you.
My apologise for withdrawing, I hope the game continues and you have fun raiding.
Greg.

Re: Ask the GM
I'm very sorry to lose you, I thought Arnwulf was a good character.
It sounds as though the last thing you need in a game is conflict and stress, and I hope you see less of it IRL too.
If you ever find yourself with the headspace to play again, you will always be welcome.

Re: Ask the GM
It is indeed sad to see you go.
Based on my experience of a career in law enforcement I hope you find the time to get some form of gaming in if only as a tonic to the trials of RL!
