Action Thread 9
Re: Action Thread 9
Action vote? Leave the slaves here and try to take out the main baddies? Or lead the slaves back out to safety, at least, and then come immediately back?
Keep in mind just how long it might take us to lead a dozen slaves back through everything to the way we came while trying to be sneaky. And I think we still have some ghouls to contend with that are in the way, yes? So maybe we don't really have the second option... Any other suggestions?
Hate to have taken the module this far and then just let it burn out when we are possibly close to the end...

If we leave I'm certain we will be doomed upon our return. They will have doubled the guards, patrols, traps, and likely adjusted spell lists to deal with pesky intruders that have cost them capital. As far as we know, they are still unaware of us at this time. If we get them looking one way and hit them from another we have a chance now.

Re: Action Thread 9
As long as the slaves don't get in the way of our fighting, we'll be fine.
Re: Action Thread 9
Yep bring them with us (to hit the bosses) ... but following a short distance behind so they don't cramp our style!
Re: Action Thread 9
Okay, so back out the south passage (where you came in) with 13 slaves in tow, and then head through the northern passages to the areas Lul doesn't really know much about, except the boss(es) are there.
I'll try to update tomorrow (had an unfortunate lapse in ability to get on my computer) but this gives others time to chime in.

Yeah, that sounds like the general consensus.

If he doesn't hear any objections; Ogre will follow the advice of his teammates and with a shrug his beefy shoulders and using the pommel of his sword; club them into unconsciousness. With that done; he gets ready for the next step....taking out the leaders of this foul place...

The Slave Pits
.
As Kayen explains to Lul the reason for the freed slaves he nods, feigning understanding, but seems to believe the explanation.
Phanstern gags the prisoners while Dredd suggests Ogre put them to sleep, in his way not a magical way. Ogre complies, easily knocking them out, and the two of them put the prisoners in separate cells in the room.
Elwita stands with her hammers and admonishes the rest to get a move on. Reforming into their marching order, with the anxious, but happily chatting 13 slaves behind them, they head out the southern passage that they originally entered. They are miraculously unhindered as they traipse back to the fork in the road and head north. As they go, they come to another fork. A passageway takes a sharp southerly route to steps going up.
Lul is in the vanguard, but he shrugs at the steps, or the passageways. I have no idea where any of this goes… it’s way above my pay grade, he shrugs.

Re: Action Thread 9
"Above my paygrade," Phanstern whispers to himself and shakes his head. As the gang marches along he will ask a random slave: Are there any more of you held captive in other areas here? His concern stems from the fact that in all the action in the cell chamber, he neglected to note a grate in the floor, as was in the ceiling where they fought the bug-men.
Re: Action Thread 9
Dredd passes the word back to the slaves to now keep quiet as we are approaching our destination
Re: Action Thread 9
Heading Dredd's call for quiet, the slaves try to be less noisy.
When you guys are ready, I'll need to know whether you are taking the stairs, or continuing northward.
The guy who pulled the crossbow bolt out of his side answers: Definitely, some go up to the temple to be sold. But most are down here. I believe in the room that was to the north of the room we just left. But I was never in that room, I just know others were taken there.tkrexx wrote: Are there any more of you held captive in other areas here?

Re: Action Thread 9
I still say hit the leaders, decapitating the snake, thus throwing them into deeper confusion. We can then more easily go back and investigate any other holdings areas with less fear of an organised, or even any, response at all
Re: Action Thread 9
Sounds good to me. But... are the leaders upstairs? Or north in the tunnel?
I'm wondering if they aren't upstairs. Why would they "live" down underground?

Re: Action Thread 9
I was thinking the same, that surely the Bosses would want a top level to survey their "Kingdom."
Re: Action Thread 9
Lul told us it was that way and he was right about the slaves - maybe ask him what is the other way just to be clear
Re: Action Thread 9
Lul isn't sure. He believes that the bosses are headquartered down here, and is pretty sure there aren't any big bosses upstairs "Except in the temple where the Cannoness holds services." Lul is pretty certain there are no hidden areas upstairs... but he hasn't been in the garden or in the outside courtyard; the party has been to both areas.saalaria wrote:Lul told us it was that way and he was right about the slaves - maybe ask him what is the other way just to be clear

Re: Action Thread 9
"Canoness," the Illusionist again finds he is whispering to himself. Priests have their own way of paralyzing enemies. This vexes me, as we know how that can affect the outcome of a battle. To survive the upcoming conflict we must catch the Slavers off-guard, even perhaps divide them somehow. He will continue his quiet debate with himself concerning battle plans.
Re: Action Thread 9
Dredd continues with the group, preparing himself mentally for a climatic battle.

Blodgett nods in agreement with this statement.Alethan wrote:"Ok... then lets just head north from here."
