On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

The media jockey of the group begins surfing social media to see what he can find. Looks like the local high schools are getting geared up for their big football rivalry! Must be serious to be talking about it 4 weeks in advance!
Lots of chatter on Screecher about the scene at the college the other night. People seemed impressed with that one and the college kids are not letting this one die off.
Hmmm... here's one...
@Boog_Harris reply: you folks best stop slandering our family name! Hate to see something bad happen to one of y'all.
The reply is somewhat buried in the comments, but still there.
@D.O.O.R. investigating the Spiro Mounds tonight. #OccultScience.
@BiGdRuM get these tax men off the Rez! We ain't selling!
@little>bird reply: council meeting tonight over it. #CadoNation.
@Jamie.Roth tonight at 10, ghostbusters! They have become the talk of the town. We're going to sum up the the highlights and help you catch up!
@Bur_Westmolen #GBFM Channel 3 News! We have the scoop!
@KiddCarson wish they could come check out the old bridge. Tow Truck Joe is out there!

Lionel "Freight Train" Williams
Lionel "likes" Jamie's screech. Looks like Jamie is running a feature on us tonight. Gotta make sure to catch that.
Scrolling through, he finds something he does not like. Hey, guys? Did we do something that would piss off... Realizing he's in a library, Lionel looks around to see if anyone heard and was upset by what he has said. Assuming everything is ok, he continues, at a more library friendly volume. Did we piss off someone named Harris? There's a screech that is kind of threatening, so I don't know if it's directed at us. He'll show the screech in question to the others.
Also, might have a lead on another ghost around here. Don't know much about it yet, though. @KiddCarson Hey, Kidd, tell me more about Tow Truck Joe! Where is the old bridge? We're interested in hearing more! #Bustin'!

Oak Cemetery Investigation
August 24, 2018, 3pm
Hot but Breezy
So far Mac and Joker have been able to find some interesting information on the names on the gravestones. It seems this visit is paying off.
Roy also has some luck, skimming through the guests register for the Goldman Hotel.
Lionel is able to get caught up on Social Media and sees at least a couple interesting things pop up, including news about a feature Jamie is putting together about them and a possible job on some local folklore on a haunted bridge.
Roy, the book on the Goldman Hotel seems to change pages when you are not looking. Page 208, it seems no different than the others save that one of the names, Mary Blackwell, May 1st 1910, has a note beside it: Mary Blackwell & Company banned from premises. Call the Marshalls if seen upon the property.
Red someone throws the book at you!
Actions?
Brownie Point Spending:
Mac -1 to rolls.
Joker -3 to rolls.
Red -1 Someone threw a book at your head.
Brownie Point Pool:
Roy O'Dowd: 102/102 @
Lionel 'Freight Train' Williams: 130/130 @
David "Mac" McAuslan 123/125 @
Dzjokar "Joker" Jelal 142/152 (***) @
Jon 'Red' Roop 20/20
Effects in place:
@ - Action Point - ReRoll without a Ghost Die - Merry Xmas 2019!
*** - Joker's inbox and searches spammed with advertisements for cedar chips for landscaping, which means a -1d6 to the difficulty of all research rolls until the end of next month. Until Sept 11th.[/quote]

Re: The Oak Cemetery Investigation
Roy once done going through all of the books and other reserved materials saved for him will take as many useful pictures of them with his phone as he can then will see what everyone else is thinking to do next. "Alright so once we're done researching what next guys?"

Joker
Yes, I think we're finished here. There may be more data on some of these family names in the GBI databases. When you are ready to go to the Firehouse, let me know.
IF everyone is ready, Joker will go with. Until they are, he'll dig into the police blotter reports, looking for any "hits" on the names beyond the deaths.

Re: The Oak Cemetery Investigation
Before we go further, I have updated the Kumu page with the information you have found so far, and also I need to know what specifically you are wanting to research going forward. Are you wanting to keep up on the family with the Latin Phrase on their stones or other people as well? Just trying to get a handle on what you are trying to do at the moment.

Clarification: Joker is looking specifically for the listings about the folks with the latin phrase on their stones- any mention of them in the papers before their obituaries.

Re: The Oak Cemetery Investigation
Joker Utilizing the records in the room, he is able to locate several articles and police reports about the group referred to as Blackwell Witches. There are several types of cased mostly Trespassing, Loitering, Break-Ins, Burglary, impersonation of an official, and criminal mischief. Nothing seemed too serious at the time and all seem to be associated with specific cases.Urson wrote:Clarification: Joker is looking specifically for the listings about the folks with the latin phrase on their stones- any mention of them in the papers before their obituaries.
With that tied bit of information: Everyone is able to find to following based off those details:
These cases go all the way back to the 1800s, all the same, family lines with a few variations to the names because of marriage. There is also the tradition of the women naming their children after other members of the family that makes the research infuriating to keep up with, but for the most part you are able to pinpoint which generation(s) are involved in each incident by the dates of the occurrences as well as the dates you gathered from the gravestones. A number of such incidents seem to center in and around the Goldman Hotel in Downtown.
The dates come all the way up to about 2000, then suddenly seem to drop off suddenly. You do find in your notes that Phoebe Zenobia Adams passed away in 2002. There was also mention in the obituary you found earlier that she had a daughter, Gloria Mary Joniet, and a granddaughter Jeniveve Joniet both of Van Buren which you will remember is the next town north directly across the river.
Finding a recent census record from 2010, you are able to decern that Gloria would be about 50 now, and her daughter would be 22.

Didn't see it. Who's Bill Maily? As he speaks, he sends a text to Jamie. Looking forward to seeing your report tonight!
Lionel Googles Old Pocola Highway Bridge and Tow Truck Joe, looking for more specifics than the info Kidd Carson gave him.

Roy sees it is getting on half past 3 now. With all the hard research going on, time is flying.
Lionell is able to easily find the bridge in question on the Old Pocola Highway. There are tons of pictures of the bridge on maps, and it seems to have been replaced by a more modern bridge but left more or less In tact.
