Maag
Blinded, face-down, prone: if the minotaur was also unconcious, Maag would be the winner at "My Favorite Opponent" bingo.
'arry the Bastard Sword (THACO 18) [1d20] = 15 Dmg S/M [2d4+5] = 8+5 = 13 Dmg L [2d8+5] = 12+5 = 17

The Chase Is Over
Starday, 20th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Sunny, Warm, Humid
Catching the beleaguered minotaur proves deadly for the badly wounded creature when Maag and Alordan rush in to administer their killing blows. Brutus grunts out his final breath as blood and cud pour forth from his huge mouth, his thick tongue rolling to one side in his disturbing death throes.
And just like that, the chase is over, the diminished party finding themselves in the alter room outside of Cora's former living chamber. There are still no signs of their missing members, and no noises permeate the air here. Tlachtga feels a wave of negative emotion suddenly wash over here, as if something very bad has just happened, though she gets no indication as to what it might be.
Brutus lay face down on the floor of the chamber, his head still glowing with the clerics magical light, and his blood pooling in any depressions in the rocky ground.
Actions?

Gramble lets out a warriors cry of triumph and then reaches down and snatches the pendant off the Minotaurs neck.
We must burn the body, perhaps it will keep him form coming back this time.

Alordan watches the beast. Conflicted about how things turned out. While not a religious man, he notices the altar in the room and wonders if they are now cursed somehow with such a final act being executed in such a place.
He thinks futilely with a slow shake of his head, "As if my luck isn't already cursed...."

Maag puts his boot on the minotaur's body and yanks out his sword.
"Even if 'e does come back, maybe dis will make 'im fink twice about messin' wiv us again."
"I wouldn't worry too much about Andron. Let's just enjoy der peace an' quiet for a while. We'll 'ear 'is yappin' at some point."

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"

When Gramble snatches up the item hanging from the neck of Brutus, he finds a rough chunk of stone wrapped up in a thong of leather.
Unwrapping the strip of hide from the chunk of stone, the huge warrior sees that it is a small stone carving of what appears to be a tiny owl. The owl figure looks to be chiseled or broken off from a larger chunk of stone, because the backside of the item is jagged and rough looking, not smooth like the front is.
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Gramble pockets it and sets about chopping of brutus head.
I think I am going to take this back and have it mounted

Alordan doesn't recall where it would have come from...
...he'll also search the minotaur for any other clues as to the nature of this labyrinth. He'll examine his weapon also.

Lerrick observes the carved owl Gramble has in his hand, then looks at her mace. Both Cora's mace and the carved figure either have the marking of an owl or the shape of an owl...a tribute to the goddess Athena. Perhaps the pendant was a gift from Cora to Brutus.

Maag wracks his brain, trying to recall the last time he'd seen an owl like that.

The cleric looks at Gramble suspiciously as the large fighter pockets the stone carving.

Yes Tlachtga...I agree. The stone carving as well as the mace that I carry should be returned. Although the maced helped me defend myself from the wicked corpse of Cora I believe the mace should be and was intended to be wielded by a true follower of Athena.Rex wrote:Tlachtga
