Andronichishche

Directed to Lerrick, "The eroded statues are actually in separate, but adjacent, tunnels. They are roughly human sized, so significantly smaller than a minotaur, yet will also likely require at least two of us per statue to move them." He steps over to the intersection so Alordan can hear him more easily, "The junk room is one of two that I have in mind. The grotto is the other. The latter is closer and Mr. Cu may be trapped there, but the junk room is more likely to contain the clues we seek. I would prefer to investigate the grotto first, though. If we find Mr. Cu, he can alert us when Brutus is nearby."

Maag

Maag plucks a few items from Caracenus' gear before they leave. " 'e's got a purse, but not much in it. Prob'ly a silver each."

He also has a comment about moving the statues. "Wit's wrong wiv usin' der kobold ones? Dey are easy to move an 'eavy enough to sink der round fings".

I'll post what gear he's taking ASAP.

Andronichishche

Andronichishche reviews his map and the location of the kobold statues. "Presumably those statues would work, Mr. Maag. However, there are only four and we don't know how many discs must be inserted. My concern is an incorrect combination may set off a trap, although we could probably lower them with a pole. It is also a fair distance to that room and back."

He folds the map and returns it to his pack. "There are risks with either option. Return to the junk room or retrieve the kobold statues. We may be able to fetch those smaller statues before Brutus recovers his nerves, though. I will support the majority opinion."

"Kobold statues or the junk room?"

Andronichishche

Andronichishche was about to rebuke Maag on his callous comment concerning the fallen fighter, but realized the former thug was quite correct, in his manner of speaking. With Brutus still prowling the tunnels, they couldn't afford any unnecessary burdens. As they so recently learned, again, death lurks on this forsaken island, and strikes with the speed of a coiled snake. He still felt uncomfortably ghoulish depriving the man of gear he no longer has any use for, so he elects to scavenge very lightly.

"I am sorry, Mr. Carucenus," he says simply, as he removes one of the large belt pouches. He quickly stands and addresses his living companions with weary words, yet the sun still hung low in the eastern sky, "To the junk room, then."

Back Inside The Secret Room
Starday, 20th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Sunny, Warm, Humid

Leaving their dead friend lay in the tunnel after taking anything they wanted from his disemboweled corpse, the group reconvenes in the entrance chamber once again, agreeing to check through the rubble in medusa’s house for the answer to this highly confusing treasure room puzzle.

Gramble announces that he will move to the back of the line to guard the party’s rear as they advance into the narrow tunnel. At the front of the line, Alordan stops at the body of the dead kobold lying in then passage.

The entire complex remains as quiet as a crypt.

Actions?

Just wanted to make sure this was the route you intended to take before advancing things too far.

It is.

Andron actually tossed the Marquees-on-a-stick down the east tunnel from the secret room.

Andronichishche

Andronichishche stops briefly before passing the dead kobold to check for anything unusual or valuable it was carrying. He also takes a quick look at its teeth to see if it has incisors common to carnivores.

Lerrick

Lerrick takes her place in the marching order and follows with mace in her right hand and the glow rock torch in the other.

The cleric will follow whatever route the group decides...event the routes with lots of beast that want to kill us :D

Alordan leads where directed, weapons out and staying in the light. He pauses from time to time to look for any tracks or blood spatter from the minotaur.

Any OOC suggestions on that secret room? I'm honestly grasping at straws. I'm fairly sure those eroded statues are a part of it in some combination, but I'm very leery of another trap. Hoping we find anything a bit more concrete in the junk room. He seemed pretty obsessed about the treasure.

Nope. To be honest, Maag started on this 14 months ago. My memory of14/10/6/3 months ago is mixed up, baffled and just plain forgotten. Brutus/Marquees/Medusa whoever are just names now. I thought you had this covered  I'm just following you around at this point. :?

Great question. Not sure :). How is this mechanism supposed to work if it takes 50lbs of weight to push down on one of those plates? not something for a routine crazy wizard to push down on probably. Maybe you're right about the statues as being what is needed to lower the plates. But what if you wanted to close the treasure room (assuming that's what it is) quickly - do you lug 5 statues around a catacombs? That's seems odd to me. I like the idea of the junk room to see if there is any more clues to what it could mean. The writing on the walls is definitely something. I assume that the crazy dude that could move through stone wrote that stuff and was really pissed at some wizard for putting him here? Was something keeping him here? the water of the island? wouldn't he be able to walk through the rock under the water? maybe that's a stretch. And then there is the dais....

Understandable!

There are at least three different stories here. Cora, which we basically know now, the maedar Marquees with the Medusa(Melania?), and the minotaur(Brutus?). Then there is also the strange black void. Plus, we're over 130 pages in the mission!
