Organizing the adventures.

#1 Post by grey_starr »

Hey guys... This is just a suggestion, but I think it would really help everyone reading and playing.

Placing chapter numbers, or some other method of showing order to adventures, in the thread titles would really help.

For example, in the game I am involved in if it had Chapter numbers:
  • Ch1: The Inn of the Unseen Servant
  • Ch2: Bazil's Breaches and Breeches
  • Ch3: Out thru the Inn Door
  • Ch4: The Temple of the Ant
I am trying to go through different stories, and games... just reading some times - other times trying to get involved - and it would be so much easier if I had some identifier to read these in order.

Not a bad idea. The GM of a game I'm in on another forum does something similar, like so:

(44) A Hinterlands Venture
(45) Crags And Foothills
(46) Foothills By Night
(47) The Lonely Abbey
(49) The Blasted Abbey

Also, I love the names he comes up with for the different chapters.
Dragon foot. Bamboo pole. Little mouse. Tiny boy.

Great idea. I 'fixed' it, sorta....
Ch1: The Inn of the Unseen Servant
Ch2a: Out thru the Inn Door
Ch2b: Bazil's Breaches and Breeches (was for one new PC only, his introduction thread)
Ch3: The Temple of the Ant

Now, how do I organize titles in the order I want within the main thread. ie, Temple of the ant, OOC , char sheets, Bazil,...?
I currently have them all scattered about.

Those, I believe, are automatically sorted by modified date. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to organize existing threads short of a strategic series of "bump" posts.

-- 2025 --
Unseen Servant Con!

This is accurate.

I place both the module code on the title of the folder thread of adventures I run (if it doesn't have on i just make it up, a module on Imagine Magazine #22 becomes "IM22"), and number the Action Posts with a descriptor ("Action Thread #5: We're in a real bender now")
