In the morning, Daisy does her devotions and gets her Graces for the day. First stop is Keg, for a healing prayer.

CLW: Heal [1d8] = 5

IF there aren't any villagers or adventurers in dire need of healing, she'll do a second prayer for Keg.

I'll hold additional rolls until I know waht's going on with everyone.

After she's done her healing, she'll head to the Hi-Lo.
Daisy finds a few sick people in the common houses, and one old man with a severe eye injury.

Sadly, Grimm is treated poorly by the humans in Beachtown, who stare him down and whisper behind his back everywhere he goes. Unfortunately he seems to have become an unknowing target for their frustration and dislike of the unwelcome Stonegut dwarves.

The newly-returned ranger offers Paul a chance to accompany him, or not, as he wishes and sets out into town. He asks politely after a man named Raythan he's heard tell of who lives near town. If he obtains directions to the man's abode, he'll angle in that direction and approach at a leisurely pace.

Grimm

The dwarf tries to look as harmless as he can while getting those stern looks from the townsfolk. I suspected as much. Things were better with the Indigenes. He decides to go to the only place he's been before in town, to Liam's farm, since he's the person he's known for the longer time in town and he also was kind to his friend Powstap.

Paul looks sideways at the ranger.

"I thought I was yer apprentice now? Did you still want to teach me the ways of the land and stuff about nature? If so, I'm willing to go along."

Raythen is well known to anyone around town, and his cottage is easily pointed out near the eastern edge of the clearing, a short distance into the jungle.

The ranger nods. "Aye. We're mates, so you can accompany me as you please and learn what you like. I'd not complain at the prospect of company." He smiles faintly and claps Paul on the shoulder. "If you need anything while we're in town, we'll make a stop by the Hi-Lo and take care of that. Then I think a mug of grog and that stew sounds about right."

He heads in the direction indicated to call upon Raythan. As they approach the house, he looks around to see if anyone is stirring outside. If not, he'll approach the door and knock softly three times, then step back to wait.

Paul nods his head as a plain looking half-elf with a far away look in his eyes opens the door to find two strangers on his stoop.

"Yes? Are you two in need of some assistance?"

The ranger nods a respectful greeting. "Good day, sir. I pray we find you well." He offers a pleasant smile. "Truthfully, we're in need of a bit of advice, and I've heard tell that you've been here longer than most. Perhaps you'd have insights I won't find elsewhere."

"We'd not ask your time for nothing, either. If there's work to be done 'round your place here, I came up on a farm. There's precious little around a homestead we couldn't bend our backs to."

Raythan looks over the pair of strangers suspiciously for a moment before responding.

"I have no need of aid, but I can fend for myself here, unlike many of the other townsfolk, who likely could use a hand with many things."

Without offering anything in the way of hospitality, Raythan continues.

"What is it that you seek, sir? If there is advice or warning I can give, I will."

Friendly bugger, Cealwyn thinks. He mentally shrugs and plows ahead. "Upon arrival here, I spent a couple of weeks criss-crossing the island alone, spying out what landmarks and places of interest that I could find. Had dealings later with the treefolk and scrapped with Bing's lads. And spotted a tribe of lizardfolk near a great stone obelisk." He glances around them. "This place obviously holds many secrets."

He fixes his gaze back upon the half-elf. "Do you know anything of these lizardfolk? Perhaps if they're hostile to outsiders or the significance of that obelisk? We've also been trying to parse out the differences between the tribes of tree folk. We've encountered varying groups. Do you know if they cooperate, or do factions vie for supremacy among one another?"

Daisy
Daisy is clearly in her element, bustling around and being mother hen to as many people as she can.

The old man (eye injury)She cleans it as best as possible, then prays for him. Heal [1d8] = 1 Ah'm sorry, honey- Arvoreen can be arbitrary with his blessings. Ah'll be back to see you tomorrow, and Ah'll pray for you.

The two sickest people:Heal [1d8] = 4
Heal [1d8] = 5
Everyone gets advice on keeping clean, eating as healthy as possible, and drinking plenty of clean water.

The reclusive half-elf looks outside the door in both directions to see that the pair is actually alone before bidding them to step inside so he can close the door to the bugs.

He points to a simple table and chairs constructed of natural jungle material. “Sit down if you like. I don’t usually concern myself in the affairs of others, but it would seem that I might be able to help you with some of your questions. I too have traveled to see these obelisks, the closest ones anyway. And I have seen the lizard folk of which you speak, though I did not attempt to make contact. I assumed that they were working with the native jungle people, since their proximity is so close to one another, but neither faction seems to have anything to do with the other.”

“I also know something about the Phanaton and their many clans, though their situation is far more...........complex.”

The common people take to Daisy like fish to water, hanging on her every word even before she starts healing the sick and injured. They listen to her tips and wisdom like children, trying to absorb any information they can to better their situation. After the healing, the commoners beg Daisy to stay so they may feed her and hear more of her strange accent.

Daisy
In turn, Daisy enjoys being the center of attention for a little while.

Ya'll, Ah'm actually needing some help. Ah know the forest 'round here has been pretty picked over, but Ah can use any sort of healing herbs you find. She takes time to describe a few of the ones she needs worst. Be safe, of course- but if you find any of these, gather some for me.
Another thing- Ah think we need some sort of clinic. A special building for the sick and injured to go to. Ah can't build- best Ah can do with a hammer is smash my thumb- but if someone would be kind enough to build it, Ah'd be very grateful.
Is there an herb healer here in town? Or maybe somebody that wants to 'Prentice as an herbalist? Spread the word, iffen ya'll would.

Cealwyn Blackthorn

With a nod, Cealwyn passes inside and takes a seat. "Thank you kindly." He smiles. "My name's Cealwyn, and he's Paul." He gestures to the younger man. "Kind of you to share some information." He absorbs what he's told concerning the lizardfolk and their relationship with the natives.

"I wonder if they've some sort of truce hammered out between them," he muses. "The Phanaton are an intriguing mystery to me. One group aids us without asking a thing in return. A second group confronts us and demands tribute before allowing us to pass." His ear catches on the word "many" and he nods. "So there are several clans. Makes sense."

The war priestess gets a few odd looks when she describes the usual healing herbs that grow in the forests of the mainland. "We can keep our eyes open fer ya Daisy, but some o' that stuff dont grow round these parts."

When she brings up the discussion about starting a healing house, the reactions are much more favorable. "We aint got no herbal healer here. We used to have a priest, but he didnt like it here and didnt like our leadership even more, so he's been long gone fer a while now. There were others since, but they seem to come and go with the wind. It really would be nice to have a permanent person here who didnt run off inta the jungle to get killed every time someone brought up something new they just discovered."

When the idea of building a special shack for the sick is breached, the common folk all hang their heads and seem reluctant to talk about it.

Raythan sets out some mugs and pours the pair some hot tea from a kettle by the fireplace.

"The one thing I do know about the obelisks is that they are surrounded by some kind of powerful magic.....obviously. I dont know about any truce between the factions, but I suppose it could be possible."

"As I said, the phanaton are a complicated bunch. They do indeed have multiple clans that thrive in many areas of this jungle. I have seen at least 4 different tribes, but I am sure there must be more."

One of the older women speaks up.

“No disrespect intended, Daisy, but we suggested that very same thing to our Constable just yesterday. And we nearly got our heads chewed off from his reply. It doesn’t seem like he thinks building a separate house for the sick or injured to heal in comfortably is very important right now.”
