Gruesome Revelations
Freeday, 19th of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Dank, Damp, Depressing

Gramble rushes up to the large iron grate and lifts with all his might, hoping to save their unconscious spell caster. Maag tries to help as well, but gets in the way more than anything else. Alordan and Tlachtga are able to pull the prone form of Andron out from under the heavy barrier so Gramble can let it go again. Their friend looks badly injured and about to die, but can now be stabilized before he slips away forever.

Lerrick screams towards Saracen to help with Andron as he attempts to finish his scrying. The hideous priest isn't sure if it was the yelling that distracted him, or his poor initial wording of the spell, but once his prayer is finished, he gets a very confused reading. He seems to be getting a sense that it would be neither beneficial nor harmful to sprinkle the pink powder from the vial upon their petrified paladin. Seeing that the priest of Rao has already been retrieved from his precarious situation, Saracen just grumbles something to himself about how he should never have stepped foot in this cave in the first place."Well, that was a waste of time. I have no healing left, so what do we do now?" (you might notice that Saracen will now be expressing himself a little closer to his actual Chr score, so please dont be offended by that. :D )

Carucenus and Mina stay in the main chamber, watching the many exits for trouble. The frail malnourished female begins speaking with her old companion. "Who are these people, Cary? And what is going to happen to us now? Are we free to leave this place? What about sister......" More fitful tears pour from the beasts ex-prisoner.

The chamber beyond the portcullis is clean and free of any clutter. In fact, the tall stone slab containing the desiccated body is the only thing that can be seen inside the now barricaded room.

Alordan will help stability Andron. "There are a few rooms here yet to explore, but we are certainly not at our full strength. Let us tread carefully as there is likely more traps yet to be found..."

Andronichishche lies motionless on the cold, unyielding stone floor while the others tend to his grievous injuries. Once stabilized his breathing becomes even and steady, yet otherwise he's quite motionless ... except, suddenly his right arm jerks up, only to gently fall again with his hand resting on the base of his chin. His fingers now almost imperceptibly stroke the contours of his jaw ...

I always thought Saracen was portrayed as rather blunt and crass. Heavy emphasis on the blunt!

"Perhaps it is time to exit and get some healing Andron. We can come back for Cresty. I don't think we can safely carry both."

Lerrick

I agree. I for one am willing to come back to finish our investigation. As I said before, i am convinced that the liquid and the powder will mix together so that, once applied to Cresty, will bring him back. If hearing from someone else in town that this is in fact true so that you are more at ease with the idea will help, I'm all for it. We desperately need to heal up. I hope the trees outside will not be a problem. Our we carrying the paladin or coming back later? And who is transporting our sleeping Andron?

Carucenus will give Mina some of his food and water. He sees with pain what has happened to Cresty and Andron, and also regrets that there's not much he can do, considering that there's also Sister Theresa's body and Mina to take care of. "I'll help however I can. Andron and Cresty helped me in a moment of need, so I'm all for coming back when the time's right. But, now, I want to help Mina get out of this place and... Maybe it's too much asking, but I'd also like to bury Sister Theresa."

Would Carucenus (Str 15) be able to carry Sister Theresa on his shoulder while helping Mina to walk keeping up with the group?

Maag

Maag clears his throat until he has everyone's attention. "Much as I would like to prop Cresty up under der Treehouse wiv a grog in 'is 'and, der is a slight problem wiv draggin' 'im all der way down to der boat."

"Namely, 'e is bleedin 'eavy. Carryin' 'im will take a long time an' we 'ave to walk right by all der weird trees. Which means dey will probably try an' eat us".

"Any ideas?"

Carucenus nods at the druidess. "Thank you, Tlachtga." He looks at the others. "I'm all for helping Cresty at a later time, but I will accept your decision. He's your friend, after all."

Alordan looks over the wounded and tired group. "Cresty fought bravely. Let's let him rest here for a short time while we make our way back to town with our wounded. We can't do it all this trip and we have our hands full. We'll back as soon as we can for him."

Lerrick

Let's see what is out there first. if there are no trees or minotaurs then we take him. If there is, we can leave Crestbrook and comeback when we are at full health.

Gruesome Revelations

Alordan seems ready to finish their exploration of these last few chambers before leaving this place, but he doesn't get much in the way of support from the others on that suggestion. Mina accepts the water and food from her friend Carucenus, who thinks he would be able to carry the sister out while also helping aid his other friends escape from this hellish place.

Gramble takes a closer look in the chamber beyond the rusty grate with the aid of Androns light belt. The stoic fighter sees what he believes is a long dead medusa lying in reverence upon the slab, but he cant be completely sure from this distance. Tlachtga suggests that the group pack up and leave now, to which several party members seem to agree wholeheartedly.

Looking around at their incapacitated members, the idea of carrying the statue of Cresty out with them soon surfaces. When Maag reminds the others about the trees outside, the thought of leaving Cresty here for a while pops up next. Mina seems to relax after some food and drink, warming up slightly to the people who are about to save her. Once it is agreed that they will also bring the body of the good Sister out, in order to give her a proper burial, the woman whispers something to Carucenus a bit louder than she intended.

"There is treasure in here, Cary. I know that for certain now. That......that...thing babbled about gold and riches all the time. The Medusa's Treasure, he often called it. But I've never seen a medusa in here, thank the gods."

Maag

"Yer not kiddin' mate!" exclaims Maag. "If I'm gonna break me back carryin' out sumfin 'eavy, it's gonna be a sack of gold, not bloody Cres...good ol' Cresty!"

He looks around at the others, then at Cresty, then back at everybody else.

"It's what 'e would want us to do".

Tlachtga

Sensing this could take a bit. "Remember, you need to stay in the light and our torches are running out. I will stay and help a bit longer but we need to move quickly."

Alordan can't help but be curious about gold when he considers his empty purse. "Maybe all of us together can lift the gate. Let's check it first for traps before we get a hand on that thing..."
