Donate and win a copy of Rules Cyclopedia

#1 Post by ToniXX »

Hello good members, players and lurkers of the Unseen Servant!

In an effort to raise some money to keep the site running, I thought I'd raffle off one of my prized D&D possessions: a copy of the Rules Cyclopedia.

Here's how it works: For every $5 you donate, you get your name in the raffle. You may donate as many multiples of $5 as you want. For example, if you donate $20, your name is in the raffle four times. The raffle will last for three weeks (ends on June 22, 2013), and within a day or two after it ends, I'll draw one name and that person is the winner. I'll post the winner's name in this thread, then ship the book via US Media mail, well packed and cushioned so it arrives in the same shape that it left me.

Follow this link to donate.

When you fill out the PayPal form, be sure to include your forum name so that I may contact you via PM if you're the winner.

You'll be helping out the site and have a chance to win a semi-rare book that I've seen go on eBay, the DragonsFoot classifieds and the Acaeum for over $50. Per the Acaeum's grading guidelines (http://www.acaeum.com/frontdesk/grading.html), I'd say this copy would be graded at FINE to VERY FINE. Here are some pics of YOUR new book:

Here's the hard part: If you're out of the USA and you win, depending on how much it costs to ship to you, I may need you to kick in another $5-$10. I hope you understand. I hate to do that, but shipping to the UK (just as an example) is not a cheap proposition.

So start donating today, and at the end of three weeks, I'll post the winners name here.

Thanks as usual for your continued support of the Unseen Servant!

No worries if you can't donate. Just enjoy the site and tell your friends about it.

Yes, I've used paypal to pay people in the UK, and have also received money from people in the UK. It does the conversion automatically.

REJOICE!

I won't be taking part in this raffle. It would be cool to have a bona-fide copy of RC but I already have it on PDF since I bought it before the "Great WoTC PDF Purge" of a few years back (plus Labyrinth Lord) and the book would be useless in practicality as I don't have anyone to physically RPG with with here.

However, having used Unseen Servant for almost a year I think its time I make my own small contribution. So here's my offering:

I will pay for the postage costs of the winner.

Yup, you read that right folks. I don't care if the victor lives in the Continental US, Haiti, America, Europe, Japan or the friggin' North Pole. Postage is on me!

So take that money you were counting on spending on postage costs and buy yourself a few extra raffle tickets from ToniXX.

Heck, I'll amp the offer! I'll pay for delivery on a higher priority mail. Prices vary according to where the book will be sent, but the winner has my word he won't get the cheapest "please wait 4-6 weeks for delivery" option.

So ToniXX, I know you've been advertising the raffle on several sites. I suggest you update the adds, or full-blown make new updated ones stating clearly that delivery will be free. The winner won't have to pay for P&P (more expendable income left for extra tickets...hint, hint!) ;)

Thanks for this, Vargr! This is a great way to contribute and I'll let you know how much shipping is when it's over.

My boss somehow bounced my paycheck (despite being a multimillionaire...) and delivered the next one late, so I am unsure if I will be able to participate :(

I will try though! Man, to have that on my shelf... I think the only reason i will keep all these old books I have is so the next generation of my family have cool stuff to dig through when they visit

I have a couple of my FtF gaming buddies that want in on a chance to score that gem.

I'll tell them to get their butts over here quick-style or they's gonna miss out! :)

I rolled a digital die and compared the result with a chart I prepared, and the winner of the Rules Cyclopedia is:

tooleychris
[1d33] = 22 Die Roll for raffle winner

Thanks to all who donated... you have helped pay for hosting for both sites, and the renewal of the domain names. Watch this forum for more similar raffles in the future.

Congrats tc!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.

Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.
