Zellar
"Die, fell beast!"
Zellar laughs and presses the attack against the ogre, her face spotted with blood, a grin of divine rapture contorting her usually calm and serene face.

Gardo
"I see a great fighting spirit in you, sidereno! Keep that big one off of me.". Gardo quickly looks for one of the orc champions and moves to the creature. "Hey! I have a surprise for you. You are not going to die today!" He then swings his sword and body in a whirl and uses the pommel of his sword to render the champion unconscious (using Knock-out skill).

It's hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.

Re: IC II
Round Three
The rest of the combatants are cut down with brutal efficiency, slain, except for the one that Gardo knocks out with the hilt of his sword. Ribar rushes to the aid of the injured mercenaries, tending to one of the most recently injured. With deft movements he is able to staunch the man's wounds; it is likely he, at least, will survive to fight another day. There are more to see to, but with every passing second it is less likely they will recover, and more likely their injuries will be debilitating.

Zellar
Zellar quickly sheathes her scimitar and joins Ribar in tending to the wounded, murmuring the blessings of the Mnencir as she lays on hands or draws on cure spells as required while whispering encouragement to those she aids.
"Your bravery won this day, comrade. Stay with me. The people of Draea owe you a flagon of mead! You need to remain in this world to taste its sweetness."

Wulfka
Hastily cleaning her blade off, she moves to one of the wounded and tries to bind off the wounds and staunch the bleeding. (Use Healing Skill)
Gardo
"Mariusz! Bring some rope over here to truss this thing up." Gardo will tie the arms of the orc behind it and loop the rope around the neck to allow control once the orc wakens.

Re: IC II
The Aftermath
Due to the quick ministrations of the adventurers all but one of the mercenaries is saved. The other three that still live are groggy -- one is still unconscious -- and will require a week or more of recovery, but they will live, and may even be able to fight again.
While this is going on the lone surviving orc is trussed like a hog; it begins to stir towards the end, and within minutes is awake, glaring furiously at its captors.

Feargus
Feargus moves to Valru and claps her back. "A grand victory. Do you think these are the extent of the orcish threat?"

Zellar
Once the wounded are tended to, Zellar draws her scimitar again and ranges ahead twenty or thirty yards, trying to determine if there are any nearby structures.

Re: IC II
Zellar sees no sign of a structure or building within her eyesight. The forest is lighter here, with the trees space further apart, and the ground relatively flat. If there was a building -- or an orcish village -- within a half-mile or so she should be able to see traces of it.The_Wanderer wrote:Feargus

Valru
"I doubt it," she says, "it was as if they were waiting for someone to follow their backtrail. However, when we encountered the previous gang I also do not recall seeing those brutes with them." She points at the two dead ogres.
Telemachus finds that both ogres carry sacks jingling with gold coins; one has 200 gold, the other has 300. One of the large orcs -- the dead one, not the captive -- has a sparkling blue gem likely worth 500 gold tucked into its boot. Other than that there is no treasure.

Feargus
Feargus turns its back on Newton and mouths to Valru, Let it go? Really? He shakes his head and heads off to search for signs like footprints of where the orcs came from.
