Gwillt nods, "Now you're learning," as he unslings his bow and mocks an arrow. He points to Alordan's bow and quiver of arrows in the pile of gear and asks, "You know how to use that?"

Gwillt drops to the ground to reduce his profile and waits...

Possible retcon here. What about healing at start of day - think probably several of us needs some - right?

Kaltar steps up to his companions and intones the necessary words. He closes his eyes, grips his holy symbol and touches Shanny's arm:

Cure Light Wounds [1d8] = 3

Then the same with Gwilt:

Cure Light Wounds [1d8] = 7
I'll change the above recipients if either refuse but surely they won't!

He will hold fast to his sword and watch the stranger arrive.

Shannigans' signal to the others of an approach is silent but quite visual.
He pulls his scarf over the ears and across the mouth, drops low and waves an arm to the group, pointing like a hunting dog.
After the party takes action, he will reach for and ready arrow & bow.

Shannigans question What are we gonna do? hangs in the air. Strom feel ill equip to answer. The last battle has shaken his confidence greatly. Hours spent in training did not prepare him to feel as helpless as he did watching innocents cut down and being unable to stop it. If the stench sapped his strength, the memories have sapped his heart.

At the signal of someone approaching Strom draws his sword, moves to whatever concealment is available and prays for guidance.

"Holy Horsesh--!!.." screams a very startled figure entering the area. Raising a mace he had previously been using as a walking cane he quickly scans the faces facing him. Several different emotions and thoughts clearly make their way across his face in what seems to end up being recognition that you are clearly NOT the someone he was hoping to avoid!

"Y-y-ou guys scared the crap out of me! By the sun and stars, what are you doing here hiding like that - scaring folks minding their own business!!?!?!" He adjusts his worn and tattered chain mail about his self and tightens his belt and bags... "Worse than those stinkin' Trogs - at least they just come right AT you, you know!? They don't hide in the bushes and scare god-fearin' folks makin' their way..."

It seems to suddenly dawn him, however, and he raises his mace a bit "... uhhhh...you guys ARE friendly right?"....

Ewell, looks at this man and answers. My name is Ewell from D'Alton and I can assure you that I do not hide for anyone. What brings you here, alone?

Gwillt lowers his bow and shrugs, "Had you been through what we've been through, you would be wary of travelers, as well! But... you seem harmless enough. I'm Gwillt. What is your name?"

"By the look's of you maybe you should have done some hiding, eh? You look like something that flea bitten tom used to try and leave by the front door of the old cottage! Hah! You all look a little ragged around the edges, eh? Gotta respect your spirit though - backin' down from a fight isn't something I'm apt to do myself. Good for you!"

Glancing around the group he frowns and mumbles a bit, handles a heavy emblem around his neck, and seems to come to some conclusion "Well, can't let something like this just lie, now can we?" To the group he says, "so what did you boys get yourself mixed up in, if you don't mind me askin'?"

With an exasperated look, Gwillt mutters, "Why is it so hard for people to tell you their name these days?" In a louder voice, he adds, "Sure, come join us! I hope you aren't traveling to O'Hare, by the way... bit of a mess, it is."

Ewell admires the spunk of this individual, though he is rather insulted at the comparison to a common house pet. Aye, yes. Some trogs destroyed the town before we defeated them. We didnt see the point in hanging around, so we left.

"Well met fellow traveller, your talk of Trogs - have you just come from O'Hare? We left in rather a hurry so would be keen of any tidings you have of the place"
Seeing the fellow appears friendly, Kaltar stows his mace.

"well, no gettin' ur breeches in a bind -- the names O'rek. As for my destination...," he pauses and looks to the sky for a bit. And by a bit, it's really a bit too long... "what was I sayin'...?"

"Yes! where was I headed? Well, I was heading to O'hare in that it was a place to rest and refill a bit - but those smelly buggars just kept comin' and comin'. Didn't meet them face-to-face, or mace-to-face, as it were," and he lifts and shakes the well-used weapon for whoever cares to see, "but I didn't really stay around to find out - i mean, there were so MANY of them --- what's ONE person to do when you stop and think about it... and so I did - stop and think about it that is - and well, I got to thinkin' well, maybe god's will is best served by going AROUND the town, you know? Maybe that was the message there - the sign if you follow me - and well, here we are! And yessir, the meat sounds WONDERFUL. I'd be more than apt to share my own victuals but as you see," and O'rek pulls the wine skin from his pack and upends it," there's sadly naught to share...."

"Ahhh... the meat is delicious and the hospitality is a might appreciated - I'd pray that I wish this wine-skin o' mine was full, but we surely must pick our heavenly battles, eh?" he says with a wink.... "Let me return the kindness, however, as it is clear - as a virgin bride on her wedding day ... or maybe that's the not the word I mean, hmmm, but you know what I mean, eh - that you could use a little bit of kind in return..."

Grasping the large metal necklace around his neck - which looks like a flowering tree of some kind - he kneels down, grabs the Grimnail's shoulder and says "This won't hurt....much. Hah!"

Kaltar steps up to his companions and intones the necessary words. He closes his eyes, grips his holy symbol and touches Shanny's arm (+3) followed by Gwilt (+7), while Epsilon does the same to Ewell (+7) and approaches Grimnail (+3) as well.

Does Grimnail accept the healing? If no, does Epsilon save this second spell? Uses it on someone else?

---

Using visual clues, Shannigans silently alerts the others as to the presence of the approaching form. After notice has been served, the halfling pulls his scarf over his ears and across his mouth before dropping low.

Grim kicks dirt on whatever is left of the campfire and whispers to the party, "Bows?"

Gwillt nods, "Now you're learning," as he unslings his bow and mocks an arrow. He points to Alordan's bow and quiver of arrows in the pile of gear and asks, "You know how to use that?" he asks, lowering himself to the ground to reduce his profile while he waits. Grim shakes his head no but motions to his newly acquired javelins and gives a toothy grin

At the signal of someone approaching, Strom draws his sword, moves to whatever concealment is available and prays for guidance. He does his best to conceal any lack of confidence he may be feeling as a result of the recent events. Ewell, too, has his hand on the hilt of his sword, ready.

The form continues to approach, drawing to within approximately two hundred yards... then one hundred. It is clearly a human or humnaoid. The unmistakable sound of clinking chain leads you to conclude that he/she/it is armored.

The form slows to a near stop.

It is still a hundred yards out, and still on the opposite side of the stream as you, but their attention seems to have been captured by some action the party has taken as they begin to stare in the parties direction, bringing a hand to their forehead in an attempt to shield out the afternoon sun. No definiteive action is taken, however, so you're not positive whatever this form is has truly detected you, or is just suspicious.

---

A few oustanding questions, which can resolve itself separate from the action. Speaking of action, any response from the party?
