While the smarter people are looking at the datapad and divining its purpose and knowledge, Rick will take a look at the laser rifle, trying to familiarize himself with the various features. He has never fired one before but his natural curiosity about weapons means that he has seen them in gun stores and flashy ads in newzines. He flips the selector to 1 to conserve energy while he familiarizes himself with the heft and balance. If time allows, he fires a few test shots at the wall to get a feel for it.

Rick replies, "I be shooting at him and hitting him but he not go down. If we be finished here, let's be going after him."

If it looks like we are done here, Rick will head down the tunnel that miner 4 took.

T'prin, whomever you treated with the medkit gets 10 hit points back. T'prin also understands that the robots are programmed to push the carts in and out of tunnels. Everyone can hop into a cart and get pushed down the tunnel. It will take at least 5 minutes to get your prisoners into the cart and yourselves to get moving into the tunnel. You can cut that to 1 minute if you just put the prisoners into the cart and walk beside it.

Rick would like to move with all speed so he will help get the prisoners into the mine cart and then walk along side, keeping a close watch on them as we head down the tunnel at best speed.

“They’d need some kind of vehicle to transport the ore they are stealing, it would show up as a different mass on Garrett’s transports.” With the others, head up the tunnel. Lloyd has the autopistol in one hand.

Okay, you dump the prisoners in the cart and have a robot begin pushing the cart into the tunnel. The tunnel itself appears to be not professionally made and shows severe signs of strain as bits of rock and dirt fall all around you. The trip takes you over 100 meters and you notice it is gradually rising toward the surface. As the tunnel incline increases, you start to hear sounds ahead of you. Soon, you see an opening ahead and the sounds of grunting and straining. As you approach the opening, you see 3 men loading ore into a hover truck, one of them is the man that was shot earlier. You notice a heavy weapon mounted on the top of the hover truck.

I think myself and borble were the only ones hit so i guess i first aided myself since i took the brunt of the damage.

Does Rick recognize the heavy weapon? Does it appear that anyone is manning it?

Rick will take cover behind the bot that is pushing the cart full of prisoners as it continues moving forward. His intent is to get close and then rush up, hopefully out of the line of fire of the heavy weapon and engage anyone who looks like they might try to man it.

Okay, Rick will carry it. He is somewhat leery of it but likes the idea of learning how to blow things up with it so will eventually learn.

The weapon appears to be a heavy laser, but from your vantage point, nobody is near it. The truck is angled in such a way that your field of vision cannot see if anyone is on the other side of it. The truck is parked at a 45 degree angle relative to the entrance you are currently at. The truck is 40 meters away and the men at 35 meters.

Okay, assuming the others are close behind, Rick will stay behind the robot and mine cart and out of line of sight of the heavy laser until he gets within an easy sprinting distance of the men (about 20 meters). Then he will take a final look at the heavy laser and, if not manned, will sprint over to the three men, attacking one with martial arts and trusting that the others are close behind and can engage the others.

His main goal is to stay out of line of sight of the heavy laser, especially if he sees someone manning it.
