"I'll make this easy for all of you. You can either come with me or lose the benefit of my axe."

And with that, Gorek disappears into the entrance.

OOC: Gorek goes into #3 on the map.

Laughing to himself, Rukellian was already a step ahead. "No point in arguing now, we are at a barrow, let us go in!"

OOC: I'm just waiting for the DM to carry things forward here. Most of us has agreed to barrow 3, we have our marching order.

Luna turns towards Gorek. "I care about your axe as much as I care about the slops I left in the bush this morning. Immature threats and foot stomping won't get you very far with me. As far as I'm concerned, you can pack it in, take your toys and go back to your mommy."

A disturbingly evil grin forms on Gorek's face as the cleric makes his comment. "I like you, human. You've got fire in your belly. It's that kind of gumption that will keep you alive when we're faced with danger. Let's just hope you've got the wits to match it. Come on, let's go kill some undead."

(as for the delay, I wanted to make sure that everyone had a chance to post before responding.)

The party enters the Barrow, The stone door had long been broken, and the silence is still present as you walk in. it opens into a 30 by 30 foot chamber, with old damaged writings on the walls, It appears that this area was ransacked long ago, and you see a corpse (Long since bones) thrown on the floor on the north wall. The torches flicker over old runes and drawings.

You do not see and obvious exits except the one that you entered in.

"First things first. Let's make sure this one doesn't cause us any troubles." Gorek wraps his bow across his back, grabs his axe and walks over to the skeleton on the north wall and separates it's head from the rest of the bones.

Agathon checks the writing on the wall, in case it's in a language he knows. Hurtag walks in front of him.

Let me know if this looks about right, whether i need to change placement of people. Also, where are the torches placed, how many are there? I will update this image when I get more feedback.

Rukellian waits near the entrance, looking at the rune etched walls in the distance. Are they still active, he wonders?

Mogullen (Gorek's hireling) should be on the map somewhere in the middle of the group. He is carrying a lit lantern.

By the way...nice job on the map. We obviously picked the right person to do the mapping.

"I thought a evil mound full of undead would exciting, not just a empty cave with one pitiful skeleton" Lorde sounds disipointed at the lack of activity.

He will enter the room with his dog and Bergin looking for traps/secret doors.
"So Grock wasn't it? You seem to know alot about the undead and desecrating bodys, you fought them before or something?"

(He is Addressing Gorek the [real] Dwarf as he searches for traps btw)

"Don't make any assumptions about a place of apparent stillness, any hell thing can leap at you in a second." Behrun mumbles this close to Lorde as his eyes flit from each party member and the skeleton in the room. He will stand with his bow ready for any surprise assaults.

As the body shifts, Gorek notices a glint of yellow metal, and sees a small golden ring. Apparently whoever robbed this place before missed the golden ring before.

The language is in common, if written in a archaic form and rather formal.

"hear lies Gomman, son of Hefler, who slew a troll." The rest is old funeral prayers used in the northern reaches 200 years ago.

The search leads to no secret doors or traps. It appears that this is a Barrow that has been robbed before you arrived. And it does not match the rumors of a large underground complex that you heard of.

Noticing that there was nothing left in the room to investigate, Rukellian says to those nearby, "Even though we didn't find much in here, I still say that we should hug the outskirts of this area and explore the other smaller barrows. I also get the feeling that something is waiting for us in the main barrow, or someone." Pausing for a moment and looking over at the ring that Gorek found, Rukellian wonders if it might have an enchantment of some sort.

"Agathon, would you be able to cast a detect magic spell on that ring? If we wish to sell it for some coin, it would be worth a lot more if it were magical." Rukellian then shrugs afterwards, giving a goofy smile. "Well, it's just a thought is all. I'm not too concerned about wealth, but some of us here are."

Sadly i cannot, for i do not yet know that spell, says Agathon with a frown.

"Hey, don't worry about it too much. We can always take it along with us and have it appraised some other time, no big deal," Rukellian finishes with a reassuring smile.

Taking a look at the ring he found on the skeleton, Gorek reads the inscription on it, then sticks the ring into his pocket.
ST4TICStriker wrote:"I thought a evil mound full of undead would exciting, not just a empty cave with one pitiful skeleton" Lorde sounds disappointed at the lack of activity.
"Be careful what you wish for. I'm pretty sure you're going to see plenty of excitement before it's all said and done."
ST4TICStriker wrote:"So Grock wasn't it? You seem to know a lot about the undead and desecrating bodies, you fought them before or something?"
"I've heard enough stories about the undead terrors to not want to take any chances. I can't say I've ever fought one toe to toe, but something tells me I won't be able to say that much longer. By the way...the name is GOREK. You'll probably want to remember that."

"You're not even gonna try on the troll slayer's ring? You Dwarves sure are a careful bunch."

Lorde sighs as he finishes checking the walls for hidden passages "Well this place is a dud, we might just have to walk into the main barrow if we wanna get in before nightfall."

He pauses for a moment and reachs for his crossbow to check if he remembered to unload it.
"Hay Luna, you're a cleric right? Do the undead get stronger at night or something?"

"Agreed," Behrun nods toward Rukellian, "The stillness of this place gives me that impression as-well. I'll move whenever you're ready, Rukellian." Behrun still cannot shake off the uneasy feeling this barrow gives, and when the group leaves he will walk with frequent glances at the barrow behind him.

When everyone appears to be finished with barrow number 3, Rukellian will take the initiative to lead the group to barrow number 8, according to the map that Locke should have on hand. While making our way to barrow number 8, the group will preferrably keep its distance from the main barrow, huggin the outskirts of the moor, all while keeping a watchful eye and ear out for activity. (Marching order might change slightly with this, putting Rukellian and Bardoon up front)

While marching to the next barrow, Rukellian makes an observation regarding the amount of daylight we have left. "We still have half a day left before the sun goes down. Most manner of undead tend to roam outside at night, but taking into account this eerie silence, I will assume that most of our ghastly encounters will be indoors. Still, thieves and such can be just as quiet if they want to.... best to stay alert."After giving his two copper pieces to the matter, he rummages through his backpack and pulls out his rope-tied net, having it ready at a moment's notice.
