Allow myself to introduce... myself

#1 Post by Stouthart »

Hello all.

Like a good number of people here, I am a long time gamer... dating back to 1983 when I bribed my way into a Star Frontiers game being run during lunch break by some of my fellow 4th graders.

I immediately switched over to D&D Basic, then AD&D 1e. Did the edition hop/upgrade thing for 2e, 3e, and 3.5e. Stayed pat with 3.5/Pathfinder when 4e came along.

I currently take part in 3 face-to-face games each month:
- A weekly 3.5e game as a player
- A monthly PF game as a player
- A monthly B/X (Labyrinth Lord) games as GM

I am looking forward to trying out a PbP game for the first time.

Thanks for your time!

Welcome and well met!
T'is a great place to try out PbP. Lots of supportive folks here.

Great avatar by the way. Is it from the cover of D3?
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Welcome to the Unseen Servant! Let us know if you have any questions; lots of helpful people here with answers.

Some of them are even right.

Sometimes.

That would be an interesting lunch. My sons are in 5th and 3rd, and I could see either of them trying to herd cats long enough to play d&d for the 10 minutes they get...
oh, and welcome.

I tried to get a seat at the table for over a week... promising to let the DM borrow my copy of G.I. Joe #1 sealed the deal. :D

I won't say we had laser focus, but we did manage to stay on task during most of the game. Which was important since we only had about 40 mins each day.

Hail and well met, Stouthart!

Great story about that bribe to get into a Star Frontiers game way back when! This site and pbp gaming here is great and the quickly-growing community of good people here is beyond awesome.

Welcome aboard, indeed! 8-)
